Chapter 280: Chapter 152: The Jealous One (Part 2)

Howard Geoffrey had clearly just finished bathing, smelling of aftershave and a faint shower fragrance, with only a towel wrapped around him.

"I want to change clothes," Howard Geoffrey said.

Rebecca Quentin nodded slightly and then carried Andrew out of the room.

She sat on the living room sofa, chatting with Andrew, who babbled away.

When Howard Geoffrey came out of the room after changing clothes, he happened to see Rebecca Quentin chatting with Andrew, looking so innocent and adorable.

He enjoyed seeing her naturally sweet smile and the way her face lit up with laughter...

It seemed it had been a long time since she had smiled at him like that.

Howard Geoffrey was enthralled until he noticed Rebecca Quentin’s gaze, prompting him to walk over.

Perhaps she was on guard; when she saw him approaching, she immediately got up from the sofa holding Andrew, watching him intently.

Howard Geoffrey came before her, looking at the little one in her arms with wide, curious eyes, asking, "When did he wake up?"

Rebecca Quentin replied, "He’s been up for a while, playing on the bed."

Howard Geoffrey’s gentle gaze softened as it lingered on the child’s face, "I want to hold him."

Rebecca Quentin hesitated.

"If I wanted to take Andrew away, I wouldn’t have signed the agreement with you, nor let my mom bring Andrew back to you."

Upon hearing Howard Geoffrey say this, Rebecca Quentin cautiously placed Andrew into Howard Geoffrey’s arms.

This marked Howard Geoffrey’s first real attempt at holding Andrew...

Howard Geoffrey’s movements were a bit awkward, yet overly careful as he held the baby.

"He’s so light..."

Hearing Howard Geoffrey, Rebecca Quentin couldn’t help but give him a sideways glance, "He’s just an infant under two months old."

Howard Geoffrey suddenly chuckled, "Look, he’s smiling at me now."

Rebecca Quentin didn’t believe him and glanced casually, only to be surprised when she saw Andrew indeed smiling at him.

Howard Geoffrey leaned down, nuzzling Andrew’s neck playfully, "Come, baby, smile for daddy again..."

"Giggle..."

Andrew laughed out loud.

Rebecca Quentin’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Howard Geoffrey continued to tease Andrew, who kept on giggling.

Rebecca Quentin, caught up in the moment, leaned on Howard Geoffrey’s arm and exclaimed excitedly, "He actually knows how to laugh out loud!"

Howard Geoffrey laughed along, "Last time in Alton, he was contrary to me, not necessarily because he disliked me as his father. See, he likes me now."

Undeniably, the child was genuinely amused by him now...

It felt like there was a natural bond between them, a kind of innate closeness.

However, after a short while of playful teasing, Andrew suddenly pouted again in Howard Geoffrey’s arms, refusing to smile any longer.

As a first-time father, Howard Geoffrey knew nothing; seeing the baby’s change, he nervously asked, "What’s wrong with him?"

Rebecca Quentin reached to check Andrew’s diaper and found it still dry. She answered, "Probably hungry. He hasn’t eaten since waking up. Let me make some formula for him, you hold him for a bit."

"Okay."

Howard Geoffrey then gently rocked Andrew in his arms, "Baby, mommy’s making your formula, so be good..."

As if understanding Howard Geoffrey, Andrew suddenly started smiling again.

Howard Geoffrey gently pinched his son’s nose with his index finger, "You little realist, knowing there’s food, you stopped pouting..."

From such actions, Andrew laughed even more joyfully.

There truly seemed to be a natural bond; Andrew wasn’t at all afraid of Howard Geoffrey, comfortably playing with his father...

He occasionally pulled at his father’s clothes, sometimes pinched his arm, and even had the nerve to wet his shirt with drool.

"Little rascal, is this how you treat your daddy!" Howard Geoffrey frowned, pretending to be angry.

Andrew blinked his bright eyes, innocently watching his father and suddenly pouted again.

Oh no, is he about to cry again?

Before Howard Geoffrey could call Rebecca Quentin over, the baby had started crying vigorously.

"Baby, daddy didn’t mean to blame you, daddy was joking... don’t cry, baby..." Howard Geoffrey, flustered by his son’s shrill cries, solemnly promised, "Daddy swears, daddy really wasn’t being stern with you..."

Andrew paid no attention, completely disregarding the previous joyful interactions with Howard Geoffrey, crying even harder.
