Chapter 196: Chapter 109: She Always Has a Way to Drive Him Crazy (1)

"Jason." Howard Geoffrey still stared at the house in front of him, calling out to his dependable subordinate without turning his head.

"Yes." Jason Wood appeared in Howard Geoffrey’s line of sight.

"Did you check thoroughly? Rebecca Quentin lives here?"

"I investigated thoroughly, Christine Quinn’s residence is here, and Rebecca Quentin has been staying with Christine Quinn for nearly three months."

"Hmm."

"Boss, do you need me to knock on the door?" Jason Wood asked eagerly.

"No need." Howard Geoffrey reached up to take off his sunglasses, revealing his bright and sharp eyes, "You can step back now."

"Yes." Jason Wood stood in line with the bodyguards.

Howard Geoffrey reached out to press the doorbell, the sound of the bell clearly reaching his ears through the door.

"Who...?"

It wasn’t the voice he was expecting.

Suddenly, an elderly American woman appeared before Howard Geoffrey.

Howard Geoffrey frowned and spoke in fluent English, "Is there a pair of Flowery Kingdom sisters living here?"

The woman replied, "There were before, but they’ve moved out. Sir, are you looking to rent?"

"Moved out?" Jason Wood, standing behind Howard Geoffrey, was shocked, "But I found out just a couple of days ago that they still lived here?"

Through the gap in the door, Howard Geoffrey could clearly see the inside of the house was empty.

The woman smiled, "So you were inquiring about those two ladies... Sorry, but we don’t disclose much information about our tenants. If you’re not looking to rent, please leave." With that, the woman shut the door.

"Hey, what kind of attitude is that..." Jason Wood, displeased, wanted to rush forward and knock on the door again.

Howard Geoffrey waved his hand, saying indifferently, "Enough."

"Boss, that woman definitely knows where Miss Quentin and they went..."

"You won’t get it out of her."

"What do we do now?"

Howard Geoffrey glanced again at the peaceful surroundings of the small town and said, "Let’s go."

"Yes."

A week later.

Christine Quinn stood in the room she rented in Alton, smiling, "I’m really grateful for your help last time."

The American woman cheerfully replied, "You two are the nicest tenants I’ve had, I couldn’t possibly refuse such a small favor."

"Thank you so much." With that, Christine Quinn slipped a sum of money into the woman’s hand.

The woman happily accepted it and earnestly asked, "Need help organizing the things in the house?"

Christine Quinn glanced at the supplies she had just moved back from the hotel and smiled, "No need, I can manage myself."

The woman nodded, "Alright, call me if you need anything."

"Okay."

The woman then left.

Christine Quinn looked at the belongings and luggage on the floor with a headache and sighed heavily.

Marilyn Quinn, who was standing nearby, walked over to her mother’s side and asked curiously, "Mommy, why not let the landlady help us tidy up a bit?"

Christine Quinn smiled, ruffling the small strands of hair on Marilyn’s forehead, "Silly girl, nothing is free in this world. If she helps us do something, we have to pay her... Mommy doesn’t have much in savings right now, can’t spend randomly."

Nine-year-old Marilyn Quinn gave an "oh" as if she understood but didn’t.

Christine Quinn said gently, "Be good and give mommy a hand, I’ll finish tidying up soon."

Marilyn nodded obediently, "Okay."

The mother and daughter cheerfully tidied the house. Suddenly, a doorbell rang outside the door.

Thinking the landlady had returned, Christine Quinn instructed Marilyn, "Marie, go open the door!"

"Okay."

Marilyn happily hopped over to open the door, but who would have thought...

"Uncle Geoffrey!"

Marilyn’s excited shout made Christine Quinn’s body stiffen as she bent over to tidy things, looking up in disbelief at the door.

Howard Geoffrey had already picked Marilyn up, kissing her as he used to, "Hey, little girl, you’ve grown taller and even more beautiful!"

"Uncle Geoffrey, I missed you so much!" Marilyn also kissed Howard Geoffrey on the cheek, happiness radiating from her face.

Howard Geoffrey finally turned his gaze to Christine Quinn.

Christine Quinn slowly walked over, her face pale, and gently lifted Marilyn from Howard’s arms, saying softly, "Playing tricks and scheming, still petty tricks in front of you."

She had intentionally faked moving away, just not wanting him to find them.

Fearing he wasn’t deceived, she deliberately checked whether he had returned to New York, learning he had indeed gone back, only then did she move back here, but who would have thought...

He had seen through their every move from the start.
