Chapter 207: Chapter 114: That Unexpected Kiss (Part 2)

"Long live the boss!"

"Boss, we’ll always be at your service!"

Ignoring the cheering behind him, Geoffrey’s lips curved into a faint smile.

Secretary Lisa Cecily followed behind Geoffrey, also excited because of the doubled bonus, and couldn’t help but ask, "CEO, you almost scared them half to death just now."

"Really? Am I that fierce?"

Lisa didn’t dare answer.

Geoffrey’s smile grew wider, "If I don’t curb their arrogance a bit, they won’t work harder for ’Skytop’."

Lisa laughed, "CEO, that’s a clever tactic, making them feel like they went from hell to heaven!"

Geoffrey just smiled silently and entered his office.

Lisa followed him in, placing a pile of documents on Geoffrey’s desk, and said, "CEO, you’ve seemed inexplicably joyful lately, haven’t you?"

Geoffrey opened a document and signed at the bottom, engrossed, and responded, "Oh, you feel that way?"

Lisa nodded vigorously, "Yes, I’ve served you for so many years and never seen you in such a good mood! It’s like ever since you came back last time, your mood has been quite wonderful."

Geoffrey just smiled lightly again.

Lisa suddenly asked in a gossiping tone, "CEO, is it because your good news with Miss Robinson is near?"

"Too much talking!"

"Haha, I’m just asking for those gossiping colleagues behind me." Lisa, having worked for Geoffrey for many years, had become quite sly herself, quickly putting the blame on those innocent colleagues who dared to gossip but not ask.

Geoffrey’s handsome face, which initially wore a smile, showed a subtle change of unease, and he sternly said, "Get back to work!"

"Yes." Lisa, adept at reading the signs, sensed the boss’s slight discomfort and quickly turned to leave.

After dealing with the stack of documents, Geoffrey leaned wearily back in his chair.

Suddenly, he picked up the phone on his desk and opened the video stored inside.

It was a very warm scene.

A beautiful morning, Rebecca Quentin rose from bed.

Like a lazy kitten, she stretched and then looked down at her stomach, speaking to her baby, "Little darling, it’s another beautiful day, let’s work hard for the future together!"

After greeting her little darling good morning, Rebecca Quentin turned her gaze to the camera.

"By the way, little darling, this is the plush toy your daddy bought... He’s so silly, buying you such a big cute bear to play with now, and this is something girls like..."

Geoffrey stared mesmerized at Rebecca Quentin’s gentle, smiling demeanor on the screen.

Finally, he turned off the video, a rare tenderness in his eyes.

"Boss."

Jason Wood walked in from outside, interrupting Geoffrey’s thoughts.

Geoffrey adjusted his posture, his gaze returning to its usual sternness, "Did you find anything?"

Jason Wood shook his head, "If Mr. Jones wants to avoid us on purpose, I’m afraid no one will find him."

Indeed, Geoffrey had spent so many years searching for Skyler Jones, never finding a hint of his whereabouts.

If not for Rebecca Quentin, Skyler Jones might have never revealed his identity.

Geoffrey sighed, "Oh well, he’ll come back when he wants, no need to search anymore."

"Yes."

"Tell Vincent to refuel the plane, I want to leave New York in an hour."

Jason Wood chuckled awkwardly, "CEO, you’re going to meet someone you want to see, right?"

Geoffrey remained serious, but his tone was relaxed, "You’re also talking too much?"

Sensing Geoffrey was in a good mood, Jason couldn’t resist asking, "CEO, you haven’t seen Miss Robinson in a while, you’re pining for her, aren’t you?"

Geoffrey glanced at his reliable subordinate, "When did I ever say I was going to France?"

"Ah?"

"Go to Alden!"

Jason froze for a second, his voice becoming stammered, "Yes, I’ll notify Vincent right now."

Alden.

Rebecca Quentin was sitting on the sofa by the window in the living room, daydreaming.

Time passed quickly, and half a month had gone by in a flash...

The last time he came here felt like it was just yesterday...

Recently, there hadn’t been any news of him in New York’s newspapers. Is it because he’s been busy with work, or is he no longer in New York?

If he’s not in New York, he must be in France, right?

I heard some publications are willing to pay a high price for the news of him announcing his wedding date, now he should be basking in happiness and sweetness, right?

"Becca, Becca..."

A few calls from her sister finally brought the dazed Rebecca Quentin back to reality.

"Sis!"

Christine Quinn, busy making dinner, peeked her head out from the kitchen, "The doorbell’s been ringing, Marie is upstairs reviewing her homework, go answer it."

"Alright."

Putting her feet down from the sofa, Rebecca Quentin stood up and walked to the door.

Behind the door, Geoffrey could clearly hear the footsteps inside.

And then, the figure he longed for appeared with that sweet voice behind the opened door.

"Who..."

Rebecca Quentin saw the man in front of her, and her questions were all stuck in her throat.

"It’s me." Geoffrey answered naturally.

Rebecca Quentin stared at the handsome face that still lingered in her mind from a moment ago, and murmured, "Why...why is it you?"

Christine Quinn hadn’t heard anyone come in, fearing something might be wrong with Rebecca Quentin, she quickly came out of the kitchen armed with a spatula, asking, "Becca, who is it?"

Christine Quinn had just reached the door and was also surprised by Geoffrey’s sudden appearance.

"Uh..." Christine Quinn didn’t know what to say.

"You’ve come a long way, and you won’t invite me in for tea?" Ignoring their awkwardness, Geoffrey pretended to ask politely.

Rebecca Quentin was a bit hesitant.

Christine Quinn secretly glanced at Rebecca Quentin and seeing there was no sign of strong rejection from her, she said, "Of course!" With that, Christine Quinn opened the door wider.

Geoffrey walked in grandly.

To avoid awkwardness, Christine Quinn spoke first, "Uh, I’m busy with dinner, you two can catch up..."

Geoffrey’s gaze had already locked onto Rebecca Quentin’s slightly pale face.

Rebecca Quentin withdrew her gaze from Geoffrey, remaining silent.

Christine Quinn added, "By the way, I don’t mind making an extra dinner."

With that said, Christine Quinn headed into the kitchen.

Seeing Christine Quinn turn away, Rebecca Quentin also turned and walked into the living room.

Responding to Rebecca Quentin’s indifferent attitude, Geoffrey entered the living room and immediately grasped Rebecca Quentin’s hand.

Having not felt this touch for a long time, being seized by his familiar domineering strength made Rebecca Quentin freeze in place.
