Chapter 332 - 331: The Ax

Chapter 332: Chapter 331: The Ax

At this moment, Smoker and Bob had just managed to arrive, leaping onto the rooftop. The players exchanged glances. Then, Smoker conjured several Mirror Fragments out of thin air. He casually tossed them to the ground, where they formed a mirror, perfectly positioned to let them peer through the house’s window and see the scene inside.

Within the house, Little Red Riding Hood pushed the door open and said, "Dear Grandmother, I’ve brought you some completely healthy, green, organic snacks."

"That’s wonderful."

The Big Grey Wolf, lying in bed, said softly, "Come closer, child."

Little Red Riding Hood approached the bed and was clearly startled by the huge wolf dressed in an old woman’s clothing. "Grandmother, why are your ears so big?"

"That’s to better hunt prey in the forest," the wolf inadvertently blurted out his true thoughts but immediately corrected himself, "I mean, it’s to hear the sounds of nature in the forest better."

"But Grandmother, why are your eyes so big?" asked Little Red Riding Hood again.

"Because I’m wearing optical correction devices for vision impairment, also known as glasses for myopia." The wolf said in a high-pitched, delicate voice, "Of course, I find the term ’glasses for myopia’ to be full of discriminatory implications. Myopia is not a disease but a natural physical characteristic that shouldn’t be subject to discrimination."

Little Red Riding Hood swallowed hard as she looked at the wolf’s hairy palms. "Grandmother, why are your hands and belly so big?"

The wolf explained, "Big hands are for better grasping bones... COUGH. COUGH. I mean, ancient dinner knives and forks. And a big belly because there are pillows stuffed under the blanket."

Little Red Riding Hood said, "But Grandmother, why is your mouth so frighteningly big? And your teeth inside are terrifyingly sharp, like those of a crude and savage wild animal."

"Hm?!"

The wolf instantly lost its patience. It leaped out of bed, its burly body bursting out of the clothes, and roared at Little Red Riding Hood, "That’s racist! What’s wrong with being a wolf? What’s wrong? Your words make me tremble with rage, and I’m breaking out in a cold sweat despite this blazing heat! Just because we like to skin and dismember small animals, devour them whole, attack passing human merchants, women, and children in the forest, and kill and eat the livestock raised by villagers—you think you can discriminate against us for that? That’s too cruel, too vicious! This is blatant racism in the new era! I am ashamed for you! I’ll have you know, we wolves don’t want to infringe upon the survival rights of other beings either, but as carnivorous creatures, we have the right to live a life true to our nature!"

With those words, the wolf jumped to the floor and grabbed Little Red Riding Hood’s arm. He opened his absurdly large maw. It was so large that Little Red Riding Hood, assaulted by his hellish, foul breath, could see her poor grandmother curled up inside the wolf’s swollen belly.

Up on the rooftop, the players instinctively prepared to intervene. They had always thought that with Little Red Riding Hood being so eloquent, she probably had some hidden tricks up her sleeve. But judging by the current situation, the Big Grey Wolf could probably swallow her whole in one bite.Even though the mission didn’t specify the need to rescue any fairy tale characters, Little Red Riding Hood, being so famously innocent and charming, must surely be part of the good and Orderly Formation. Rescuing her should have no downside.

Several players flipped down from the rooftop, standing by the window. The special agent Julia raised her dual guns, aiming at the window. Bob lifted his shotgun. Smoker pulled out several Crystal Flying Knives from his backpack.

Just as everyone was about to intervene and stop the huge wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, though grabbed by the wolf’s paw, showed no fear. Instead, she roared angrily, "Wait, what are you doing?!"

Little Red Riding Hood’s roar was so sonorous, and her glare so imposing, that the huge wolf subconsciously halted its attempt to devour her.

The players outside, seeing the situation change, ducked down and hid below the window. What the hell is going on here? It feels like everyone in this Fairy World has some twisted logic!

"You’re invading my personal space!" Little Red Riding Hood rebuked the Big Grey Wolf. "I have reason to believe you are harassing me! And as a woman who refuses to accept patriarchal oppression, I strenuously resist this behavior! Now let go of me, you ill-mannered wolf!"

The Big Grey Wolf, intimidated by her commanding presence, didn’t dare to move.

Just then, the players noticed a lumberjack. He happened to be passing through the forest, heard the noise, rushed toward the house, and smashed the door open. Upon seeing the Big Grey Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, the lumberjack mustered his courage. He instinctively raised his axe, preparing to chop off the Werewolf’s head.

But the moment he lifted the axe, Little Red Riding Hood whirled around. Glaring at him, she continued to scream sharply, "What are you doing?!"

The bewildered lumberjack froze, unsure of what to do.

"You crude, brutish middle-aged man!" Little Red Riding Hood yelled. "You burst into my grandmother’s house, intending to use a weapon laden with patriarchal oppression to resolve a situation you don’t understand. This is a dispute between me and this wolf. By barging in like this, do you think women and wolves can’t settle their own disputes without men’s help? This is gender discrimination and racial discrimination! Just like other men, you’ve always seen the use of brute force as the first means to solve problems! Or, perhaps I could assume this is the occasional kindness shown by a man toward a woman he’s interested in, driven by his courtship instincts. But this assumption disgusts me even more! You’re objectifying women, you uncouth gorilla!"

Little Red Riding Hood passionately said to the lumberjack, "A woman’s fighting spirit should shine in adversity. Today is also a day to be proud of being born female! Now, get out of this house, or I will have to resort to more extreme measures!"

As Little Red Riding Hood spoke these impassioned words, a pair of wrinkled hands suddenly pried open the wolf’s mouth from the inside. Then, an old woman dressed in a pink skirt, frail with age, leaped out of the Big Grey Wolf’s mouth!

Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother first touched her granddaughter’s hood. She nodded in approval and said, "I’m proud of you, child. You have grown into a woman of the new era, with independent thought and character."

After that, the old woman snatched the axe from the lumberjack.

A bullet pierced the window, knocking the axe from the old woman’s hands.

"Stop!"

Li Ang stood up, somersaulted into the window, and said in a deep voice, "What on earth are you all doing?"
