Jiang Nan Fang Zhan Bei Jue

Chapter 1295 The Watcher Outside the Window

The nanny, though old, was not foolish.

Having stayed at the Zhan family for so long, she had watched Zhan Jingchun grow up and knew her well.

Although she didn't know what had happened during her absence, it was certainly nothing good.

The young girl, on the surface, seemed no different since her return, but the nanny could sense her unhappiness.

Zhan Beijue and Jiang Nanfang were excellent parents, giving their child ample freedom, saying what needed to be said and nothing more.

Even parents sometimes couldn't fully enter their child's inner world. As a nanny, she didn't expect to, but she truly felt for her and hoped she would get better soon.

So, she chose her words carefully.

"Chun Chun, don't find me nagging. Although I'm not well-educated and don't know much, I know you have something on your mind. If you want to talk about anything, please tell me. I promise I won't tell anyone."

"Your daddy and mommy don't want to pressure you and never say much in front of you, but they are truly worried about you. Nothing is insurmountable. Think on the bright side; you're so young, and things will get better, right?"

"Just let me accompany you for a walk. If you really don't want to talk, I won't say a word. Having someone by your side provides some sense of security, doesn't it? I don't like playing with my hands either; why do you want me to go back?"

Zhan Jingchun knew that everyone around her cared about her. The aunt had been with her for so long, she was like a mother.

It was the first time she had heard him speak to her like this. She was touched and genuinely realized that she had made those around her worry.

"I'm not unhappy; I just don't know what to say. It would be best if you'd accompany me for a walk, Auntie. Let's go for a walk together."

Saying this, she proactively linked her arm with the aunt's and walked slowly forward with a smile.

Watching her figure slowly move away, Peng Fei's pounding heart gradually calmed down.

He was glad he hadn't rushed out to reveal himself to Zhan Jingchun just then.

Now, he realized the rashness of his actions.

It wasn't the right time to reveal himself yet.

He hadn't achieved anything yet; he was still the Peng Fei who came from the mountains. Everything had changed except for his love for her.

As a proud daughter of heaven, how would Zhan Jingchun face him?

She had never said she liked him. His relentless pursuit would only cause her distress and annoyance.

Meeting him was a good thing for Peng Fei, but certainly not for Zhan Jingchun.

How could he selfishly barge into her life again without her consent?

Peng Fei, with a mix of disappointment and happiness, squatted in the grass, gazing at her greedily, bit by bit, until her figure disappeared around the corner.

As if he were about to lose her again, he felt a surge of panic.

He dared not chase after her, so he rushed to the base of the wall, climbed back into the villa, and ran upstairs.

Fortunately, he could still catch a glimpse of her from his room window.

Zhan Jingchun seemed to live next door, slowly walking along the road around the villa.

Although she walked slowly, she soon disappeared from view again.

Peng Fei, anxious, rushed to the rooms of the two little ones next door.

After watching for a while, she was gone again, so he went to another bedroom.

Without regard for whether the person inside was asleep or if they minded his intrusion, he grabbed the wooden bar on the door, yanked it off with two "bangs," stepped back, and kicked the door open with all his might with a "crash."

The child inside hadn't slept yet and was boredly complaining on the bed. Hearing such a loud noise, he jumped up from the bed, his face filled with terror.

Peng Fei ignored his expression, rushed to the window, and saw Zhan Jingchun again. His agitated heart finally calmed down.

Zhan Jingchun sat down with the aunt on a wooden bench. They held hands, talking about something.

The night and the lights enveloped them, making them look warm and lovely.

Peng Fei watched greedily for minute after minute, while the child on the bed was almost scared to death by him.

Trembling, he stood up and put on his jacket.

"What are you doing? What are you looking at? Have you gone mad? Aren't you leaving?"

Peng Fei discovered that this room had an excellent vantage point, not only allowing him to see Zhan Jingchun for a long time but also directly facing the opposite window.

Perhaps Zhan Jingchun lived in that room?

If she lived here permanently, would he see her every day?

He suddenly turned and looked at the boy coldly.

"You, go to my room and live. We'll switch."

"Ah?"

"Ah what? Do you want a beating?"

The boy didn't dare to ask more. Terrified, he grabbed his clothes and backpack and ran away.

Peng Fei stood by the window and watched for a full half hour before Zhan Jingchun went back inside.

Her figure disappeared again, and Peng Fei, scratching his ears and cheeks in frustration, wished he could climb out again and follow her footsteps.

Until Zhan Jingchun circled the villa and reappeared before him.

He was overjoyed.

She really lived in this room! The nanny entered the room with her and turned on the lights!

The curtains weren't drawn, and he could clearly see the layout of her bedroom.

A white bed, pink sheets and bedding, a drawing easel and many books by the headboard.

She stopped at the foot of the bed, the nanny helped her take off her coat, she casually grabbed a hair tie to tie up her hair, they chatted for a few more sentences, and the nanny withdrew.

She sat at the dressing table, wiped her face with a tissue, and after a series of actions, seemed to enter the bathroom.

Peng Fei's heart was greatly satisfied.

He had seen Zhan Jingchun's every move, understood her life, and it seemed she belonged to him again. Heaven was treating him well!

Peng Fei felt so happy he could float.

Standing for so long made his calves ache, so he pulled over a chair and sat by the bed.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, Zhan Jingchun came out of the bedroom again.

Wrapped in a loose bathrobe, she sat at the dressing table again.

He watched her meticulously apply skincare products to her face, then her hands and legs, tidying herself up completely, then picked up a book and sat at the foot of the bed to read.

He watched her for as long as she read, finding it not at all boring.

Although he couldn't get close to her, this kind of companionship still made him feel extremely content.

Time trickled by, and Zhan Jingchun's alarm clock rang. It was time for her to sleep.

Although she couldn't sleep, she had to force herself to.

She grabbed the remote and slowly drew the curtains, then turned off the lights with the remote.

Peng Fei knew she was asleep. Although he was reluctant, seeing her go to bed so early and so obediently filled him with relief.

He was reluctant to sleep. What a wonderful fate it was to watch over her like this, even the air around them carried her breath. How could she bear to sleep?

Peng Fei leaned by the window, dozing and waking, staring at the opposite window all night until the curtains were opened again the next day.

Watching Zhan Jingchun get up and leave the bedroom, presumably to go downstairs for breakfast, he finally walked away from the window.
