Chapter 202: A Friendly Spar Part 2

Dumbledore looked aghast. "You are an Animagus."

But his shock would only continue to rise as he recognized the animal that James had turned into. "That's!… that can't be!"

In front of him was now a large stag with silver fur. Sparks of electricity occasionally ran across the surface of his horns.

The ground cracked as James activated his innate magic, and the next moment, the stag seemed to vanish.

The silver stag's horns had made an impact against his shield with enough force to shake the Headmaster.

But James was not yet done. A bolt of lightning formed on the tip of his horns and blasted at the shield.

Dumbledore gritted his teeth and poured more of his magic to fortify the shield. "Non-lethal, huh…"

Fawkes came to his rescue and sent a barrage of small fireballs at James.

The stag was forced to stop his attack and move away. Even if it didn't look too threatening, phoenix fire was not something that could be taken lightly.

After gaining a bit of distance, James turned his attention to Fawkes and formed a large bolt of lightning aimed at the phoenix.

But when he saw it use its innate ability to teleport away, James understood that lightning alone was not going to be enough.

Unfortunately, while in his Animagus form, this was the only form of attack he had.

His shape reverted to his human form. He had been training it for months, so it only took him a second.

"Oh…" James glanced down at himself. He had forgotten that when going through an Animagus transformation, you tend to leave your clothes behind.

However, that was not the case this time. James may have left his robes back on the spot where he transformed, but he was now wearing a set of pristine white robes.

He of course knew where these clothes had come from. The divine artifact seemed to have fused with his own body, so it was always with him.

However, he didn't understand why it had activated of its own volition, as he had never called for Aura to manifest.

'It keeps acting on its own, showing a high degree of autonomy.' James wasn't sure if that was a good thing, but for now, he was grateful, having exposed himself to the Headmaster and his phoenix.

"When did you conjure those robes?" Dumbledore noticed something strange about them.

"Well, technically, I didn't." James used an Accio charm to call upon his wand, which had been left next to his robes. It came flying, and he grabbed it. "We are not done yet."

The magic around James began to change and become more threatening.

Dumbledore immediately picked up on this and got his guard up, and even Fawkes noticed the danger, placing itself before the Headmaster.

"James… what are you doing? We said no dangerous magic."

"All magic can be dangerous." James lifted his wand in the air. "Crown of Stars."

Seven orbs of white light emerged from his wand and began to circulate over his head.

Dumbledore had no idea what the effect of this piece of magic was, but he did take note that James had used the English language to cast it, so it had to be a relatively new spell, perhaps even one created by James himself.

"Simulacrum." Three copies of James appeared around him, and then… one of the seven orbs disappeared, creating three extra copies of himself.

The six clones moved quickly to surround the Headmaster and his phoenix before beginning their bombardment of spells.

"Remember to keep it non-lethal," the real James said.

"We know!" Clone 1 rolled his eyes.

"We know the same thing as you!" Clone 2 reminded him.

"Why does he always do that? We don't need orders." Clone 3 added.

"Amusing…" Dumbledore said. "But you made a small mistake, James." Dumbledore raised his wand. "I don't require holding back against temporary clones." A burst of golden flames was conjured all around the Headmaster, burning away all the clones before they could have a chance to escape.

"What happened to no alchemy flames?" James raised an eyebrow. "You keep breaking your own rules."

"I am not the one being tested." Dumbledore tried to hide it, but his breath was becoming more irregular. It had been a very long time since he had exhausted himself to this degree.

His eyes moved to the six remaining orbs hovering above James. He could already guess the effect of the spell.

"Glacium Spika!" James conjured a dozen ice spikes.

Another orb disappeared, leaving only five remaining ones, and a moment later, another dozen spikes appeared next to the first ones.

"A spell duplication… very impressive." Dumbledore glanced at the phoenix next to him. "Forgive me, Fawkes, I'm going to need a bit more of your assistance."

The fight continued.

Dumbledore and Fawkes were forced to stand on the defensive while James continued his assault. Every spell was more powerful than the previous one, and all of them were being duplicated by the 'Crown of Stars' he had initially cast.

Several minutes had passed, and now James only had one orb left.

Dumbledore was having difficulty breathing, and Fawkes had been turned into a block of ice.

"One more." James's magic grew in intensity.

Dumbledore grew alarmed. By now, he had expected for James to also grow exhausted, yet it appeared that despite everything he had thrown his way, the young man was still in perfect shape. "W-wait… I think I have seen en—"

His words came too late, as James had already begun to chant his last spell.

His eyes glowed with an eerie yellow light as magic coursed through him. His mouth opened, and strange words came out:

"उल्का झुण्ड (Meteor Swarm)"
