Chapter 237 Firepower Fortress

When Gu Ya's mech flew in front of the opponent, he finally understood what it meant to be short.

His assembled close-quarters combat mech stood thirteen meters tall,

while the opponent was a full three mech-lengths taller.

Gu Ya tilted his head back, gazing up in a daze, unable to see its head.

The black and red paint job had a matte finish, seemingly using some kind of light-absorbing material that didn't reflect even under the sun.

The immensely strong and robust body of the mech made Gu Ya feel instantly insignificant, giving him the illusion of an ant looking at a human.

What kind of person would pilot such a mech!

The little girl's voice coming from the communicator didn't sound like someone who could handle this mech at all!

Li Fang stood by the cockpit, shouting, "Awesome!!! Hahaha, Gu Ya, wanna give it a go!!!"

At this moment, the chest armor of the two black and red mechs slowly opened, revealing a silver metal platform. The cockpit doors opened slowly.

The two pilots emerged from their cockpits, standing at the edge of the platforms, looking down into the giant crater.

Their positions were so high that Gu Ya could only vaguely make out what seemed to be two little girls.

"They really are girls..." Gu Ya found it hard to believe. "There must be auxiliary pilots, right? These giant mechs always have two mech pilots. One for piloting, the other for weapon operation."

The two little girls returned to their cockpits, and the doors closed heavily.

Soon, two gas jets sounded from the feet of the giant mechs. Two door-shaped armor plates slowly popped outwards and slid to the side.

Behind the armor was a metal alloy door.

The doors opened quickly, and two little girls leaped out from the two openings.

They held hands, ran quickly to the edge of the crater, lay on the ground, and laughed while looking at the crater.

Compared to the giant mechs behind them, they were incredibly, incredibly small.

Li Fang landed on the ground from his mech and quickly ran to the two little girls, laughing and talking with them.

Judging by their interaction, they seemed to know each other.

However, with Li Fang's naturally sociable personality, he probably felt like he knew everyone.

Gu Ya also walked up to the three of them.

It was then that Gu Ya truly grasped the spectacular nature of the giant crater. If a person fell in, they'd likely starve or exhaust themselves to death before they could climb out.

A strong smell of gunpowder and various chemical reactions filled the air,

making it difficult for Gu Ya to breathe.

But the two little girls and Li Fang were completely unfazed, enthusiastically admiring their "masterpiece."

One of the little girls was smiling brilliantly, her round face like a sunflower, her head held high, her smile deeply moving and sunny.

The other girl, however, seemed much more melancholic, with her eyelids drooping, her silence cool and indifferent as she watched them.

Li Fang sidled up to Gu Ya, threw an arm around his shoulder, and introduced, "Gu Ya, my bro!"

"Gu Ya, these are the War Gods of Luokuo City, hahahaha!"

The little girl with the bright smile said cutely, "We aren't War Gods, Master is! She had a mission and couldn't come. I'm Qiao Weiwei!"

Qiao Wei pulled over the gloomy-faced girl and said happily, "Her name is Rui Zi."

Gu Ya was curious that they weren't twins but looked so alike.

The two girls barely reached Gu Ya's shoulder, estimated to be less than 1.5 meters tall.

Li Fang laughed heartily, "A feast! It's a literal firepower feast! So spectacular!"

Qiao Weiwei smiled sweetly and said, "Impressive, right? Hehe, Rui Zi hasn't installed the real big killers for me yet. If I had that installed, forget two hundred mechs, even an army of a thousand mechs would be wiped out hahaha!"

Good heavens, Gu Ya thought, startled. Someone who wasn't a War God level fighter could wipe out an army of a thousand mechs.

He wondered if they were boasting or truly possessed such strength.

However...

Gu Ya turned to look at the mechs. More than getting to know these two young mech pilots, he was more interested in these two firepower monsters.

One of the main battle mechs had portable mounting ports on various parts of its body, making it convenient to install different mech components, likely designed specifically for combat.

Being able to equip heavy firepower weapons on all parts of its body was a brilliant idea,

but what shocked Gu Ya even more was its dorsal structure.

To rapidly replenish ammunition, its thrusters had been relocated to the waist, and large auxiliary thrusters were installed on its limbs.

What were called auxiliary thrusters were still larger than Gu Ya's mech's main thruster.

And the back of this mech was entirely composed of various types of interfaces.

Gu Ya counted ten.

Each interface could mount a heavy firepower killer weapon.

Furthermore, the bulging parts on its limbs and torso should be storing ammunition.

Seen this way, it was a veritable mobile firepower fortress.

Gu Ya nodded, excellent. With heavy protection, this mech would definitely be the anchor on the battlefield.

He then looked at the other black and red mech.

This mech was missing an arm, making it look even uglier, and giving it an incomplete feeling in its various parts.

Especially the chest armor, which should have been bulging, was now dented inward.

Gu Ya suddenly recalled the bulky cluster missile launcher mount. Judging by its rough shape, it would fit perfectly into the indentation.

This made it quite obvious.

This mech was the ammunition resupply mech for the other one.

All parts of its body were ammunition mounts, corresponding to the interfaces on the back of the other mech.

When changing ammunition, one simply had to detach a part of their own body and mount it on the other's back.

A clever idea.

The two mechs complemented each other, enabling each other, and together forming such a firepower monster.

"I love watching fireworks explode! Boom boom! Boom boom! Boom boom!" Qiao Weiwei exclaimed, dancing with her hands.

"Rui Zi doesn't like violence, so she assists me! Hahaha!"

Qiao Weiwei grabbed Rui Zi's hand again and pulled her along to dance.

Rui Zi, however, looked like she had no will to live, her eyelids drooping.

"Good, two lively girls," Gu Ya thought.

"It's about time, I should be going," Gu Ya said with a smile.

Li Fang immediately protested, grabbing Gu Ya. "You're leaving just like that? Chat with them some more. You're both War God level figures! You must have a lot to talk about. Anything will do, maybe we'll be teammates in the future!"

Gu Ya said calmly, "We'll talk another time."

"Gu Ya, you're so cold. You're not even moved by two cute girls?" Li Fang persuaded.

Upon hearing the word "girls," Gu Ya's heart grew cold.

After the mess with Dou Mei and Fang Fei, he now felt a deep disconnect from all women except Ye Ying and his family. He didn't want to create more complications.

"Not interested. I'll leave them to you. You guys chat," Gu Ya said politely and turned to leave.

Qiao Weiwei smiled and called out to Gu Ya, "Little brother, are you good at fighting?"

Gu Ya was speechless, fearing she would say, "What's the use of being good at fighting! You need influence and backing to get by..."

Li Fang became excited and introduced enthusiastically, "He's Gu Ya! The Unregistered War God of Wuxu City! Of course, he's good at fighting! He defeated our three classmates' specialized mechs with his assembled mech."

Qiao Weiwei smiled faintly, a hint of conspiracy appearing on her face, which also turned somber. However, the corners of her mouth still curved upwards as she said, "Little brother, I want to spar with you. Let's see if your sword is sharper or my firepower is stronger."

Gu Ya's expression darkened. He calmly said, "Sorry, not interested." With that, he turned and walked quickly towards his mech.

"Coward..."

Suddenly, Rui Zi said in a low voice.

Her voice was very faint and pleasant; everyone present heard it.

"Hahaha! Being looked down upon by Rui Zi is really embarrassing~" Qiao Weiwei giggled, covering her mouth.

Gu Ya stopped in his tracks, feeling a surge of anger rise from his chest. He held it in, clenching his teeth.

Why argue with them? They were just two little girls.

Gu Ya sighed, releasing his anger. Forget it, it's more important to get home.

"Haha! Unregistered War God turns out to be a coward~ Shameful, shameful, it's truly disgraceful to say this!" Qiao Weiwei deliberately laughed loudly. Her provocative tone was clearly meant to provoke Gu Ya.

Rui Zi also spoke, her tone low and melancholic, "Ah, yes, he feels inferior after seeing our strength."

"Rui Zi, you're so right~" Qiao Weiwei chimed in with a smile. "We don't even dare to call ourselves War Gods, how can this person be so shameless, shameful, shameful! Unregistered War God Gu Ya, shameful, shameful!"

Gu Ya gritted his molars, his eyes narrowed, and he took deep breaths.

He had intended to leave without a fuss, not wanting to bicker with two girls and appear petty.

But these two young girls had such loose tongues, constantly chattering and belittling Gu Ya, their tone casual, but their words were too harsh.

For every step Gu Ya took, they would say three different things to annoy him, and their voices grew louder.

The anger in Gu Ya's chest grew with each passing moment.

Could he still tolerate this!?

Gu Ya steadily turned around, his eyes calm, his expression stern.

"Fine..." Gu Ya gritted out, his words squeezed through his teeth, and he said coldly, "Then let's spar."
