Chapter 600 Seeking Forgiveness

“You really don’t mind anymore?” Ye Ziyu asked with doubt, hugging her arms.

This wasn’t the first time she had heard such words. But whenever problems arose, Di Mingjue’s heart felt like it was being pricked by thorns, and he would still throw tantrums at her like a child.

Di Mingjue raised his left hand, holding up three fingers. “I swear, if I lose my temper with you again, I will punish myself!”

Afraid he might say something he shouldn’t in a moment of emotion, Ye Ziyu immediately pulled down his hand, which was raised to her ear. “Just keep in mind what you said. Don’t say anything else.”

Taking advantage of the situation, Di Mingjue held her hand and placed it on his pounding chest. “Do you forgive me now?”

In truth, Ye Ziyu had already calmed down the moment he walked in. She just wanted to teach him a lesson, so he wouldn’t have unprovoked outbursts and damage their relationship.

Seeing that she remained silent, Di Mingjue leaned his body towards her. “For the sake of my admitting my mistake and changing, please forgive me this once. I promise that the next time I see Gu Xiuyu, I will treat him as someone irrelevant.”

Irrelevant?

Ye Ziyu turned her body with a sigh, her eyes fixed seriously on his. “For you to say he’s irrelevant means you still care a great deal. One day, you will still have an incident like today.”

They lacked complete trust. For instance, no matter what happened, his mind shouldn’t wander. It wasn’t that wandering thoughts hadn’t occurred, but he was desperately trying to hide them.

Di Mingjue released Ye Ziyu’s arm and dropped his playful demeanor. “Then what should I do?”

He said that as a man, he would naturally mind other men appearing around her. Moreover, Gu Xiuyu had intentions towards her and had done things to sow discord between them. This was unacceptable to anyone, unless that person didn’t care about her.

Seeing that they were not reaching common ground, and that continuing the conversation would lead to another argument.

Ye Ziyu turned and sat back down at the desk, lowering her head to look at the documents in front of her. “You should go back first. The children will worry if they don’t see us.”

“And you? Aren’t you going back?”

“Yes, I’ll go back after I finish processing these documents.”

“Then I won’t go back either.”

Di Mingjue took out his phone and called Ye Chenhan.

With the children’s issue resolved, Di Mingjue naturally stayed. He took some of the documents, disregarding Ye Ziyu’s objections.

In terms of seriousness, Di Mingjue was even more meticulous than Ye Ziyu. Anyone who didn’t know better would think Ye Ziyu was the one helping.

It took them an hour to finish processing the pile of documents before them. The food they brought in the morning had long gone cold and was no longer edible. Di Mingjue casually put the food back into the bag, along with the trash from the bin, and carried them together.

“Are you hungry?”

Ye Ziyu shook her head, but her stomach betrayed her.

In the quiet environment, a grumble was exceptionally loud.

Di Mingjue glanced at the watch on his wrist. “There should still be restaurants open outside.”

“I’m not hungry, let’s go back quickly,” Ye Ziyu said, grabbing her handbag and stepping out of the office first.

They hadn’t returned since leaving in the morning, and the children would surely be uneasy if they didn’t see them.

Stepping out of the Ye Corporation building, apart from the cars driving on the road, there were few people walking. Ye Ziyu stopped in place, waiting for Di Mingjue to bring the car over.

For some reason, the two stood side by side, neither of them taking an extra step forward, nor uttering a sound, with a tacit understanding.

A cold wind blew, and as the minutes ticked by, Ye Ziyu couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you going to get the car?”

Di Mingjue looked at the parking spot from the afternoon. The car that should have been there had vanished without a trace.
