Chapter 812 The Fleeting Red Seal

The three returned to the Ye residence. Ye Ziyu looked expectantly at Ye Qianzhi.

“Xingxing, go upstairs and wash up,” Ye Shaoting called.

Xingxing obediently moved away from Ye Ziyu, not even sparing a glance, as if they were strangers.

Ye Shaoting exchanged a look with Ye Ziyu and then followed Xingxing upstairs.

Once they had all left, Ye Ziyu took Ye Qianzhi’s arm. Before she could ask, Ye Qianzhi spoke first.

“He said he can’t make decisions for Xingxing and told me to ask Xingxing’s own wishes.”

Just as she expected!

Ye Ziyu had anticipated all of this. If he didn't speak up, Xingxing would certainly not agree.

Ye Ziyu nodded dejectedly, “Okay, I understand.”

“When Xingxing comes down, I’ll ask him. He’s just a child, surely he’d want to play with other children?” Ye Qianzhi rambled.

Although he was a child, he was different from other children. If Ye Shaoting didn’t agree, no one else’s words would matter.

Ye Ziyu reached out and held Ye Qianzhi, who was about to leave. “No need. If elder brother thinks it’s not suitable, then let it be.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Ye Shaoting came downstairs.

He had likely heard most of what had been said, but whether he would respond was another matter entirely.

“You two chat. I have some company matters to attend to, so I won’t be having breakfast,” Ye Shaoting said, and naturally departed.

Everything unfolded exactly as Ye Ziyu had predicted. Watching Ye Shaoting leave, she listened to Ye Qianzhi’s complaints.

“He’s so busy, yet he insists on keeping the child by his side to care for!”

Indeed, if he was this busy, why didn’t he try letting others help look after Xingxing? Or did he wish for Xingxing to remain lonely forever?

Ye Ziyu stopped talking to Ye Qianzhi and turned to go upstairs. She stood before the door, hesitating for a few seconds before walking decisively to Xingxing’s room.

Knock, knock~

After two knocks, Ye Ziyu waited at the door for Xingxing’s response.

After a moment, receiving no reply, Ye Ziyu pushed the door open from the inside.

The sound of trickling water reached her ears, and Ye Ziyu’s gaze drifted towards the bathroom.

Just as she was contemplating whether to wait on the nearby sofa, the bathroom door swung open from the inside.

Slam!

After a loud bang, Ye Ziyu blinked her eyes.

That mark on Xingxing’s waist?

Ignoring Xingxing’s shyness, Ye Ziyu rushed forward and knocked on the bathroom door. “Xingxing, can you come out for a moment?”

The door was locked from the inside, making it impossible for Ye Ziyu to open it from the outside. There was no sound from within for a long time. A few minutes later, Xingxing, dressed, walked out.

Seeing that he was already clothed, Ye Ziyu didn’t know how to begin. Should she touch it directly? No, that would not only startle him, but the red mark had flashed by so quickly that it was impossible to tell if it was a birthmark.

Sensing Ye Ziyu’s constant gaze on his waist, Xingxing curiously looked down. He pulled his clothes down further and anxiously looked towards the door.

If Ye Shaoting saw Ye Ziyu in his room, he would definitely be angry.

With that thought, Xingxing wanted Ye Ziyu to leave his room as soon as possible.

“I need to go out,” Xingxing said.

Ye Ziyu blinked, and then, somewhat lost, she regained her composure. “Okay, I’ll go with you.”

As they left the room, Xingxing cautiously glanced in the direction of Ye Shaoting’s room.

“Xingxing,” Ye Ziyu suddenly called out. Xingxing had no choice but to look at her. “Do you have a birthmark?”

A birthmark?

Xingxing shook his head.

“Really none? It’s right around this spot.” Ye Ziyu pointed to her own waist, her eyes fixed on the area on Xingxing’s waist.

He touched the spot through his clothes and shook his head again. “No.”
