“Are we going up or down?”
Shen Lin pushed Di Mingjue into the conference room, and his words instantly turned the silent room into a frenzy.
This was the first major shareholders’ meeting since Di Mingjue woke up, and all shareholders, big and small, were present.
Di Mingjue walked to Di Dongsheng’s side.
In front of him lay documents related to the Xingyun Project. Looking further down, everyone else had identical documents placed before them.
They had certainly put in some effort!
“Second Brother, do you want to continue?”
The unspoken question was whether he wanted to embarrass himself further.
Di Dongsheng picked up the document in front of him, deliberately bumped it against Di Mingjue’s wheelchair, and stormed out of the conference room in a fit of rage.
The door creaked as it swung shut.
“Mingjue, that’s not right of you. Dongsheng was only trying to help, thinking of taking Di Jue Group to the next level so that we shareholders could have more income in our twilight years. For the sake of sentiment and reason, you shouldn’t disrespect him.” Third Uncle openly found fault with him.
Ever since leaving the Di residence that day, Third Uncle had harbored dissatisfaction towards Di Mingjue. Today, he finally had the chance to vent his anger.
Third Uncle’s lecture emboldened the older shareholders present. As the saying goes, the kind are bullied by the wicked, and they also wanted to seize this opportunity to curb Di Mingjue’s arrogance.
“We’ve all read the documents. It’s clear Dongsheng put in a lot of effort.”
“Yes, and he’s been working hard to manage Di Jue Group all these years. Even if you’re back now and want to reclaim the position of CEO, you can’t overlook his hard work.”
As one person spoke, the rest followed suit and echoed their sentiments. The shareholders’ meeting turned into an assembly of denunciation, and the conference room became as noisy as a street market.
Shen Lin, unable to bear it, wanted to interject, but Di Mingjue raised his hand to stop him.
He wanted to see what capabilities they possessed to cause such a scene!
After a barrage of unpleasant remarks, people noticed Di Mingjue’s prolonged silence. Gradually, some of the more timid ones stopped.
“Are you all finished?” Di Mingjue asked once all the noise had died down. “Listening to everyone, you seem to be very satisfied with the Xingyun Project. In that case, why not cooperate with the Jiang Corporation as Second Brother suggested?”
Third Uncle’s brow relaxed, and he replied with a smile, “That’s more like it. If the project is good, why would we reject it? Although the Jiang Corporation is declining, it’s still a century-old enterprise. It won’t go bankrupt that easily, will it?”
Mistaking Di Mingjue’s intention, some people who lacked independent thought flocked to agree with Third Uncle.
Seeing their foolishness, Di Mingjue interrupted, “It seems you’ve all decided to invest your shares in the Jiang Corporation’s Xingyun Project. Since that’s the case, I won’t force you to stay.”
He turned to Shen Lin. “Go and prepare some share transfer agreements. Carefully calculate everyone’s shares, convert them, and see what percentage of the Xingyun Project they will hold.”
Shen Lin left the conference room without looking back.
It was only then that the shareholders realized what had happened.
The leading Third Uncle slammed the table and roared, “You scoundrel, do you know what you’re doing?”
“Don’t be anxious, Third Uncle. Your shares in Di Jue Group are the largest among all shareholders. After the calculation, you will undoubtedly hold the largest share in the Xingyun Project. If the Xingyun Project develops well in the future, you’ll have more money than you know how to spend in your later years,” Di Mingjue explained their future.
The project was an uncertain factor, while Di Jue Group was a solid source of profit.
The shareholders, no longer concerned about Third Uncle’s anger, began to explain themselves in a flurry of words. Their earlier assertiveness had completely vanished, replaced by a sense of helplessness.
Shen Lin was efficient. Ten minutes later, he returned to the conference room with a large stack of documents.
“Distribute them,” Di Mingjue instructed.
If someone refused to take them, Shen Lin placed them on the table in front of them. In this way, all the shareholders were compelled to receive the share transfer agreements.
