During dinner, Jiang Ziyu brought Qianqian to the restaurant. After taking her seat, she looked around, but Emperor Mingjue was nowhere to be seen.
The old lady, supported by the butler, arrived at the head of the dining table. Glancing around, she looked at Jiang Ziyu and asked, "Where is Mingjue?"
It had been over ten hours since he left in the morning, and she hadn't seen him.
"I..." Just as Jiang Ziyu began to speak, the phone in the living room rang.
The butler answered it and, after a brief conversation, hung up.
"Who was it?" the old lady asked.
"Assistant Shen. He said Young Master Di is still working and won't be back tonight."
"Not coming back?" Hearing the butler's words, Jiang Ziyu asked excitedly.
His body, which had been dormant for three years, had only just awakened, and after a few comfortable days, he was already overexerting himself!
Jiang Ziyu had no appetite for the lavish dinner spread before her. She suddenly stood up from her chair and said to everyone, "Please enjoy your meal. I'm going to the company to see Mingjue."
The old lady was pleased but maintained her composure. "No rush, it's not too late to go after you eat."
"It's fine, I'll bring some food to eat with Mingjue," Jiang Ziyu said.
Since their precious grandson couldn't even spare time for dinner, the old lady naturally wouldn't want her granddaughter-in-law to sit and enjoy herself alone. However, she hadn't expected Jiang Ziyu to be so concerned about Emperor Mingjue, and she liked her more and more.
Hearing her words, the old lady quickly instructed the servants to prepare food for her to take to the company.
At the other end of the table, Wu Xuerou watched as the expensive dishes were taken away by Jiang Ziyu, feeling very displeased.
Was he important, but everyone else wasn't?
Half an hour later, Jiang Ziyu appeared at Di Jue Group, carrying two thermal containers. Only the windows on the top and ground floors of the entire building were lit, and the security guards at the entrance were changing shifts.
Entering the company, Jiang Ziyu took the elevator to the top floor. The company was deserted, with only the sound of her footsteps echoing as she walked.
The office door was ajar. Jiang Ziyu walked in and saw Emperor Mingjue at his desk through the gap.
He dared to drink coffee!
Feeling that her concern was being wasted, Jiang Ziyu pushed the door open aggressively and rushed in.
A gust of wind blew in, and Emperor Mingjue looked up.
"You're not coming home for dinner, only to drink coffee here?"
With a thud, the thermal containers were placed on the desk. Jiang Ziyu reached out and snatched the coffee cup from his hand.
One cup was already nearly empty. Her gaze then fell on the documents that had been processed beside him, and Jiang Ziyu became furious.
He was truly unheeding of advice, simply trampling on his own health.
Jiang Ziyu angrily threw the coffee cup into the trash can and slammed her hand on the desk, warning, "This is the last time. If I ever see you drinking coffee and not resting properly again, you'll end up back in bed!"
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Jiang Ziyu kicked the trash can and saw that there was more than one coffee cup inside.
"You!" Jiang Ziyu was so angry she couldn't speak.
Emperor Mingjue, sitting down, said sarcastically, "How does a busy person like you have time to care about me?"
Hearing his inexplicable words, Jiang Ziyu slammed her hand on the desk and demanded, "What do you mean by that?"
Emperor Mingjue let out two cold snorts and pushed himself up from his chair, leaning on the desk.
He deliberately didn't reply, enjoying seeing Jiang Ziyu worried.
What was this fit of madness?
Jiang Ziyu felt a tightness in her chest, making it difficult to breathe. She looked at Emperor Mingjue's back, wishing she could land two punches to make him listen to her.
But anger was anger, and thoughts were just thoughts.
Jiang Ziyu adjusted her mindset and said calmly, "The most important thing for you now is to take good care of yourself and help your eyes recover as soon as possible. You don't want to miss seeing Qianqian grow up, do you?"
Emperor Mingjue's intention to tease her began to waver.
Seeing his shoulders relax and no longer appear stiff, Jiang Ziyu continued, "Qianqian heard you wouldn't be home for dinner and was very worried about you."
