Chapter 436: Arrogance Beyond Measure

Chapter 436: Arrogance Beyond Measure

As soon as these words were spoken, Su Yuanchao's subordinates were stunned once again. Not only had Li Se twisted Su Yuanchao's arm, but he had also threatened the entire Su family!

It had to be understood—this was a second-tier aristocratic family from the capital! Though they couldn’t compare to the true top-tier families, they were still far beyond the reach of any small-time company bosses in the modest city of Qingyun!

After leaving the Western-style house, Li Se turned to Su Mei and asked with a smile, "How do you feel?"

"What kind of feeling do you want me to have?" Su Mei countered.

"Never mind," Li Se said, feeling that certain words sounded oddly suggestive coming from Su Mei’s lips.

"Thank you for today," Su Mei suddenly said.

"Thank me?" Li Se was taken aback.

"For letting me witness such a satisfying scene," Su Mei replied with a faint smile—one so captivating it could outshine everything else in the world.

Li Se found himself momentarily entranced by her.

"Would you like to come to my room tonight?" Su Mei asked softly, her fingers lightly tracing the back of Li Se’s hand as she spoke.

"Ahem, Sister Mei, could you not use your charm techniques on me?" Li Se coughed twice and immediately activated his Qi cultivation technique. This damnable enchantress was truly tormenting.

That very night, Su Yuanchao was rushed back to the capital. By the time he arrived, it was already the next day.

When the Su family saw Su Yuanchao’s broken arm, everyone fell into silence.

Su Meichao, Su Yuanchao’s father, had a face as dark as thunder. The reason he had sent his son to Qingyun City was to secure his position as the next head of the Su family. After all, with the Su family’s influence, a small place like Qingyun should have been easily handled.

Yet, no one could have anticipated that within just two days, his son would return with a shattered arm.

"Family Head, Li Se said that if any of the Su family dares to set foot in Qingyun City again, he’ll cripple every last one of us," the middle-aged man who had accompanied Su Yuanchao reported, his head bowed. Though he was also injured, his wounds were minor—mostly because, under those circumstances, he had been powerless to help Su Yuanchao, with two formidable experts keeping him in check.

"What arrogance! Let’s see how this Li Se plans to withstand the might of the Su family!" Su Meichao snarled viciously before turning to Zuo Qingyi. "Doctor Zuo, how is my son’s condition? Can his arm still be saved?"

Zuo Qingyi’s expression was grave. He shook his head and sighed. "The attacker was ruthless. There’s no saving it—the arm is beyond repair."

Su Meichao staggered back two steps, nearly collapsing to the ground before being steadied by the butler beside him. Tipping his head back, he roared at the heavens, "Li Se! The Su family will never rest until you’re destroyed! And that bitch Su Mei—I’ll turn her into medicine ingredients at once! Pass down my orders: no matter the cost, we must bankrupt Yuanfeng Group! The formulas for their painkillers and hemostatic drugs must be seized!"

"As for Li Se—break his limbs! And bring Su Mei back to me—dead or alive!"

"Yes!"

——

Li Se, of course, had no idea that the Su family was now in a frenzy of rage. But even if he had known, he wouldn’t have cared much. Had this been the capital, he might have had reason to tread carefully around the Su family. But unfortunately for them, this was Qingyun City. A mere second-tier aristocratic family wasn’t worth his concern.

Now that his reputation for miraculous healing had spread, the number of patients visiting his clinic every day was overwhelming. Even with several veteran physicians working alongside him, they were still swamped with work. Today, in particular, the patient count was unusually high. Even Old Huang and the others were struggling to keep up. Li Se, who usually only handled complex cases, had no choice but to take on general consultations.

"Do you have nasal congestion, sneezing, headaches, coughing, and white, thin phlegm?" Li Se asked after taking the pulse of the man before him.

"Yes, yes, exactly!" the man nodded eagerly.

Li Se said, "You’ve caught a cold. Though the weather is hot now, you still need to be careful not to get chilled at night. Take Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui twice a day, and you’ll recover quickly."

"Thank you, Dr. Li!" the man said gratefully.

"Next!" After the man left, Li Se called for the next patient.

A middle-aged woman immediately took a seat. Her face was pale, and she clutched her forehead. "Doctor, I’ve been having terrible headaches lately. Please help me—it’s unbearable."

"Give me your hand," Li Se said.

The woman nodded and extended her arm.

After checking her pulse, Li Se made his diagnosis. "Liver Qi stagnation and emotional distress. I’ll give you acupuncture first, then prescribe some medicine. Take it for three days, and you’ll be fine."

"Alright!" the woman agreed quickly.

After the acupuncture session, the woman indeed felt much clearer-headed, and her pain had lessened. She thanked Li Se profusely.

"You also have trouble sleeping, don’t you?" Li Se added.

"Yes, doctor," the woman admitted, surprised he had noticed.

"Take some sour jujube seeds when you get home, and you’ll be fine," Li Se said with a smile.

"Thank you, doctor," the woman said before leaving.

"Next!"

Li Se called again.

But just as the next patient was about to step forward, a portly man strode in, followed by a male secretary. The secretary shoved the waiting patient aside and demanded, "Are you Dr. Li?"

"I am. What can I do for you?" Li Se frowned slightly, displeased with the secretary’s attitude.

"Our boss needs treatment!" the secretary said coldly, referring to the obese man beside him.

"Even if he’s seeing a doctor, he has to queue like everyone else!"

"Yeah, how can you just push people?"

"Do you know how long we’ve been waiting?"

The other patients immediately voiced their discontent.

Today’s crowd was especially large, and many had already waited half an hour. They all trusted Li Se’s skills, which was why they were willing to wait.

Besides, going to a big hospital would mean even longer queues and much higher fees—with no guarantee of results as good as Li Se’s treatments.

"Shut up, all of you!" the secretary snapped. "What status do you have? You’re nothing but worthless trash! Do you even know who my boss is? This is Tao Duoduo, chairman of Tianqi Jewelry—worth hundreds of millions! How can you lowlifes compare? Scram, all of you! Stay away from my boss—who knows what diseases you might spread to him!"

The crowd seethed with anger.

"What’s so great about having money?" someone couldn’t help but retort.

"Sorry, but money is everything. My boss pays 100,000 for a single consultation—can you afford that?" the secretary sneered.

The man who had spoken fell silent. 100,000 for a single visit? Of course, none of them could pay that. At this clinic, a consultation cost only a hundred yuan or so—affordable and effective, which was why they were willing to queue.

Tao Duoduo sat down with an air of arrogance, looking down at Li Se with a condescending gaze. "Take my pulse. Lately, I’ve had no appetite. If you can cure me, I’ll reward you with 100,000!"

The secretary added impatiently, "You heard him—100,000! You wouldn’t earn that much in a month at this shabby clinic. Treat him well. If anything happens to my boss, I’ll tear this place down!"
