“Mmm~~”
“Why did a large number of new viewers suddenly flood the livestream?”
“Oh~~ I know, you must have been attracted by my superb skills. Wasn't the execution of Slone just now very cool?”
In the game, Tommy, with tear streaks still on his eyes, struck a cool pose for the camera, a smug look on his face.
He was using the BT-7274 simulation access pod gifted by Ling Jing. It had a perspective switching function, unlike ordinary access pods.
This meant that viewers in his livestream could choose to watch him from either a first-person or third-person perspective, so he knew this pose would be seen by quite a few viewers who preferred the third-person view.
With years of livestreaming experience, Tommy was also the type of streamer who knew how to entertain.
However, his explosive popularity was truly dramatic, stemming from that punch infused with emotion.
Tommy had already broken down once that day because Slone had blasted BT point-blank with a cannon. At that moment, he felt completely numb.
Tears flowed freely, and only the will to avenge fueled his desire to crush Slone. Otherwise, he would have ended the stream long ago and hidden in a desolate corner to cry his heart out.
Like most players, Tommy and BT had forged a deep friendship along the way.
What made their bond different was that Tommy had military experience, making his emotions more profound, especially cherishing the friendships forged on the battlefield.
Therefore, the moment Ghost fell, he lost all control.
He didn't even know how he threw that punch; all he knew was that there was a fire in his heart that needed to be released.
After becoming famous, Tommy never forgot his original intention and continued to livestream with dedication. Due to his rich emotions, he had many memorable moments of tears shed on the stream.
Viewers even used whether Tommy shed tears in the game to judge the quality of a game.
However, intense grief like that of Ghost's was a once-in-a-lifetime event.
This time, BT's first death brought Tommy a similar pain.
Before he could even mourn, he received the good news that BT could be revived. He was so excited he jumped up.
Upon seeing BT again, Tommy felt his entire spirit and energy return. He then displayed a valiant side, easily defeating Slone. Come!!'
'Here it comes, here it comes (sad)'
'I think BT's voice damage in the English dub actually sounds pretty good.'
'So the foreshadowing was laid here, and I didn't notice this line at all back then. I was just frantically trying to save my BT.'
'Mutual salvation, except BT's abilities were stronger than ours, and we couldn't save him.'
'Whoo, whoo, stop it. I'm gonna cry again!'
.......
"Warning, enemy Titan detected."
Tommy's attention was not on the bullet comments because Blisk had appeared.
Fortunately, he didn't cause them trouble, merely handing Cooper a card.
Tommy didn't look closely; BT had already struggled to its feet and continued towards the syringe, his focus still on the mission.
Although Tommy felt immense heartache and wanted to stop BT from continuing his task, wanting to take him for treatment, the situation was extremely urgent. BT did not heed his advice, repeatedly stating, "My analysis is that throwing is the only way. Throwing. Throwing. Throwing is the only way."
The more Tommy heard, the more his heart ached. His comrade was severely injured, his speech significantly affected, and he was powerless to help. This was ten times more painful than if he himself were injured.
Later, BT requested Tommy's assistance, as BT could not complete this task independently due to a disconnected auto-navigation system.
Tommy had no choice but to agree. At this moment, the protocol content began to appear on the main screen.
To make matters worse, Commander Sarah delivered more bad news: ground forces would not be able to reach them in time, and he and BT would have to find a way to destroy the temporal fold weapon from within.
On one side were the tens of millions of lives on Planet Harmony, and on the other, his and BT's future.
What to do?
Tommy was stunned.
This kind of choice was not even a trolley problem; it was a unilateral decision.
At this moment, BT stepped forward, preparing to expose his reactor core to destabilize the Ark and destroy it completely.
"No, no, no!!!"
Tommy instinctively stopped him. He knew exactly what BT's reactor core was – it was BT's fundamental life source!
Although Tommy did not want to see BT do this, he was unable to change it.
BT transmitted the coordinates and, with Tommy's assistance, climbed into the syringe, "Why? Why? Why can't I be selfish if I want to...."
After struggling for a moment and venting his emotions, Tommy gradually accepted reality. It seemed that sacrificing himself along with BT was not entirely unacceptable.
Although in reality, he was still alive, in the game, they had accomplished the greatest deed for Planet Harmony together.
Under the intense radiation of the distorted space, the emitted energy was almost fully charged. Gazing at the blue sky and white clouds outside the firing port, Tommy's heart suddenly calmed:
"Don't worry, BT. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."
"Roger that. Iron Control."
As the push-back intensified, Tommy was about to close his eyes and await death when the cabin door suddenly opened. A dazzling red light momentarily blinded him.
*Click, click, click~!*
Suddenly, a familiar mechanical hand reached into the cabin. Tommy immediately reacted and struggled violently!
"What are you doing, BT!"
In the void, BT struck a cool throwing pose, "Protocol Three: Protect the Pilot."
"Noooo!!"
"No!! BT!! Nonono!!"
Tommy panicked, struggling violently with his hands and feet.
"Trust me."
Hearing BT's firm and confident voice, Tommy stopped struggling and slumped into BT's palm.
*Whoosh~~*
Tommy took flight, accompanied by BT's retreating figure.
A blinding flash of light occurred, and when he woke up, all that remained was the destroyed, battered planet.
Tommy was stunned. At that moment, it felt as if the air had frozen.
Different viewers read their own past experiences on Tommy's face, but Tommy himself, his eyes were indescribably numb. His soul was gone.
This was not the end. Tommy, who no longer had the courage to continue, numbly exited the game.
The next moment,
"Protocol Four: Throw the Pilot."
The massive foreshadowing, buried for a month, immediately played out. Seeing the familiar throwing motion of the BT-7274 access pod in reality, Tommy's soul returned.
His eyes were bloodshot, his face flushed red, and he let out a beast-like roar: "Ling Jing, I will never forgive you!"
With that, he spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted.
*Whoosh!!!*
The livestream instantly erupted!
.......
(I'm having some issues right now and have encountered some difficulties preparing for a new game. For my next game, I'm planning to make a PC title, but I'm unsure whether to go for a pixel art style or a AAA PC game like Sekiro, Dead Space, or The Last of Us.)
(After all, with VR, these games can truly shine in a virtual environment. However, for the pixel art style, I haven't decided which one to choose yet. Since I've already played and written about the ones I know, choosing new ones would require me to spend time playing them virtually to understand their settings and storylines....)
(But I have to start a new project tomorrow, what should I do?)
