Chapter 750: Chapter 450: Uncle, You’re Buying Me a Car?

"But Mom, the captain said he’s got something to do."

"That’s why I want you to go with him. Once he’s done, you two can come back right away.

No matter how late it is, your dad and I will wait for you."

Ivy Miller swallowed hard, seriously? How unlucky. If I had known, I would have just gone and had dinner.

Why make a fuss out of nothing?

"Okay, okay, sure."

After hanging up, Henry Sullivan put his phone back into his pocket and started eating: "Why didn’t you just tell her you don’t want to go."

"I would need the guts first. She gave birth to you, not me.

She can be gentle with you, but there’s no reason for her to be gentle with me."

Henry shook his head with a smile: "Alright, I know my mom can be harsh with people usually.

I also know you’ve been through a lot being her daughter-in-law.

Don’t worry, if anything happens between you two in the future, I’ll be on your side."

"What if I’m the one at fault?" Hearing him say that, Ivy Miller instantly felt much better.

"Even if you’re wrong, my mom will stand up for herself.

She’s the type who will justify herself no matter if she’s right or wrong.

She never loses, with anyone."

Ivy shook her head: "Not true, she’ll definitely lose face in front of one person."

Henry raised an eyebrow and looked at her, not knowing who she was referring to: "Who?"

Ivy pointed at him: "You. Look, when she’s talking to me and when she’s talking to you, her tone is totally different."

Henry smiled without a word, and Ivy lowered her head to eat. She needed to eat more, as she was going to her mother-in-law’s in the afternoon.

Since Henry had mentioned he had something to do, it wouldn’t be good to go home too early.

After breakfast, Henry had her tidy up and the two of them left the house.

He hailed a cab and took her to the Audi dealership. As soon as they entered, a salesperson enthusiastically greeted them.

Ivy was puzzled: "Uncle, are you buying a car?"

"Yes, buying a car."

"But you’re not staying in Anchester, what do you need a car for?

Or are you planning to drive it back to the base?"

Henry didn’t look at her, "I don’t have the leisure to play around with road trips.

The car is for you. Go take a look, see which one you like and what color."

Ivy was dumbfounded, standing there looking at him: "Un... Uncle, you’re buying a car for me?"

Henry turned to her: "What’s wrong?"

"We’ve only been married for how long, and you’re already buying me a car."

"What does it have to do with how long we’ve been married? I see you taking cabs every day. It’s too troublesome, so I’m getting you a car for convenience."

Ivy leaned close to Henry’s ear, avoiding the salesperson: "You don’t need to buy an Audi. A Peugeot would do."

Henry was slightly exasperated: "Alright, alright, just hurry up and pick one."

Seeing his impatient look, Ivy pouted: "I’m trying to save you money."

"No need, stop talking, we have other stuff to do after getting the car."

More stuff? He really was busy, seemingly trying to stretch 24 hours into 48.

She walked around the dealership but couldn’t make up her mind.

In the end, Henry decided on a white A8.

The car was in stock, so after getting it, they left the dealership with temporary plates.

Ivy drove, and Henry directed.

"Where are we going, Uncle?"

"To my place."

"Where’s ’your place’?"

"I have an apartment in Anchester, go check it out. Since you don’t like going home and don’t like visiting my parents, you can stay at the apartment from now on."
