Chapter 765: Chapter 465: Is This Her Lover?

"Huh?" Ivy was momentarily confused, "The CEO’s secretary? I... don’t know him."

Manager Tan looked her over, "Don’t know him? Then why did he call me up asking me to look out for you?"

Ivy quickly pressed her lips together and stayed silent. What CEO’s secretary? It’s the CEO, alright.

"I’m not quite sure either, maybe I did something good before and happened to help the CEO’s secretary?"

Manager Tan scrutinized Ivy, this little girl is definitely hiding something, but whatever, since she’s not saying, there’s no need for me to ask.

"Alright then, go back to work, and try not to clash with Leader Liu in the future.

After all, she’s your superior. If everyone were like you, how would she manage her work in the future?

Since you’ve started working at the company, you need to restrain your temper where it’s needed.

If you have issues, resolve them privately, don’t make a big scene like this."

Ivy nodded. If Leader Liu hadn’t pushed her, she wouldn’t act like that.

She was really scared just now because she lost the files, alright.

After leaving the office, she returned to her desk and sat down.

Opening the files, she rubbed her forehead, exhaled, and began to work.

Leader Liu turned and gave her a cold glance, but Ivy chose to ignore it.

She hurried and finally managed to hand the files over to Leader Liu by eleven o’clock.

Leader Liu tossed the files aside, too lazy even to give her a glance.

She pointed to the documents on the table, "Here, there are four files. To avoid being accused of favoritism, choose whichever you think you can handle."

Ivy was stunned, how come the sudden generosity? It felt like a dream.

She casually picked one up and turned to leave.

It happened to be lunchtime; this was Ivy’s second time being able to go downstairs for lunch since starting at the company.

The food in the company’s cafeteria was mediocre, so few people went there to eat.

Ivy had a meal card and didn’t feel like going out, so she went straight to the cafeteria to eat.

After getting her meal, she had just found a corner to sit when Jack Jude walked over with a tray and sat across from her.

"Ivy, it’s a rare sight, you’re coming down for lunch too."

"Yeah, people need food as much as iron needs steel. It’s important to treat yourself well."

"You should’ve thought that long ago. Work is never-ending, and you can’t work without the energy from eating."

Ivy chuckled, "Brother Jack, I saw others going out to eat. Why didn’t you go out?"

"I’m not picky about food; anything is fine.

But what about you, why didn’t you go out either?"

Ivy stirred her rice with her chopsticks, "I’m not that picky either."

"So we must really have a connection; we think alike.

By the way, Ivy, do you... have a boyfriend?"

Hearing Jack ask her that, Ivy looked up at him, feeling a bit wary.

Come on, asking if someone has a boyfriend is a bit inappropriate, isn’t it?

"Oh, I didn’t mean anything by it, just making casual conversation."

Ivy smiled, about to respond when she heard someone calling her name from behind.

She turned to see Robert Weston, and her face darkened a few shades. How could it be such a coincidence?

"Ivy, it really is you. I thought my eyes were playing tricks."

Ivy turned back, pretending she hadn’t seen him, "You can just think you got it wrong."

"What are you joking about? As if I could mistake you for air."

"Yes, you can pretend I’m air," Ivy said as she lowered her head to continue eating, "Eating here, don’t mind me, okay."

Jack leaned forward a bit, "Ivy, you know him?"

Robert glanced at Jack, "Of course I do, we were classmates, and I used to be her boyfriend."

Ivy glared at Robert, "What, you’re proud to be my ex?

Want to tell my colleague how we broke up?"

"Colleague? What’s going on, you’re working here?"

Ivy snorted disdainfully, "You’re allowed to work here, but I’m not?"

Robert stood there dumbfounded for a while before finally speaking to Jack, "Buddy, can you let me and Ivy have a moment alone?"

Jack looked at Ivy, "Ivy, then I’ll... eat over there."

Ivy nodded, and Jack left with his tray. She agreed to talk alone with Robert because she didn’t want him babbling about her connection with Twilight Group.

Once Jack left, Robert immediately sat down across from her, "Ivy, why did you come to work here?"
