Qiu Feng Ting Yu

310. The White World 1

Who has experienced being on the brink of death? I have, several times.

The last time I was ambushed by the Crown Prince's men, I had no sensation throughout. Although I was on the verge of death, I felt nothing. Those strange dreams were actually me being awake, so they don't count.

This time, I feel like I truly faced death.

Unlike last time, I could actually see myself lying in a sterile white hospital room. I saw doctors and nurses in white constantly busy, and I saw Lan, Ya, Jing Lei, as well as Senior and Da Kui, standing outside with anxious faces. I even saw Xie Na Na hiding in the distance!

Could it be true what people say, that my soul has left my body?

Does that mean I had stopped breathing?

At that moment, the doctor walked out and asked who the patient's next of kin were, stating that a signature was needed.

I heard Jing Lei cry hysterically, "Impossible, he won't die! You definitely didn't try your best. Continue the resuscitation, we won't sign this paper. If you can't save him, we'll smash your hospital!"

Jing Lei was naturally gentle, so for her to utter such words revealed her extreme anger!

Lan Ya was also incredibly agitated, wishing she could grab the doctor and beat him.

I stood nearby, shaking my head. "How can you be like this? Even if I really die, it's my own problem. How can you blame them? Which doctor wants their patient to die on the bed? If they are truly powerless, how can you shift the blame onto the doctors and nurses?"

I wanted to stop them both, to tell them not to be so unreasonable. But I was like air; they couldn't feel me pulling at them. They continued to yell at the doctor, who, unable to handle their persistence, returned to the resuscitation room and resumed directing the doctors to administer electric shocks and oxygen to save me.

I quietly returned to my body. Since the doctors and nurses were so dedicated, I had to cooperate with them and try my best to return to the world. There were still a lot of things to handle. I couldn't just die like this. How could I close my eyes leaving them behind?

Re-entering my body, I suddenly stood up. I pushed through the astonished crowd, broke free from Lan Ya, Jing Lei, Senior, and Da Kui who were blocking me outside, and walked straight to Xie Na Na hiding in the corner. I grabbed her hand and we ran out of the hospital. It felt like we were floating, like flying. Although they were running, they couldn't catch up to us. We left them far behind.

I said, "Let's go find your uncle. I'm going to kill him!"

Xie Na Na held my arm tightly, following my sprint without falling behind. She didn't object to me. Even though the person I wanted to kill was her own relative, she showed no disagreement.

My body seemed to have a navigation system; it quickly located Brother Hui's hideout.

He lived in seclusion in the deep mountains and old forests. When we arrived, he was drinking with the demoness Zhou Ying Ying. Seeing us, he wasn't surprised but greeted me, "My niece and son-in-law are here! Come sit, have a drink with your uncle!"

My eyes blazed with fury. I took out my concealed darts from my怀 and threw them swiftly. With a wave of his hand, he caught all three darts, smiling, "You came, and you even brought a gift. Uncle will accept it!"

I quickly took out more concealed darts, preparing to throw them. Unexpectedly, Zhou Ying Ying broke free from Brother Hui's embrace and stood in front of him, saying to me, "Brother Hui is a good person. You can't hurt him. If you want to kill or torture, do it to me!"

I hadn't expected the demoness to pull this stunt. I retracted my darts and asked, "You slut, what kind of love potion did he give you to make you so blind to right and wrong?"

Zhou Ying Ying replied, "Brother Hui is a good person. He gave me the dignity no man has ever given me. With him, I feel like a real woman. Without him, I have nothing. I am willing to die for him!"

I sneered, "Then I will fulfill your wish. I will kill you first, then seek revenge from him!"

I swiftly threw my concealed darts. With a whistling sound, they embedded themselves in Zhou Ying Ying's throat, heart, and abdomen.

Zhou Ying Ying let out a cry and then fell to the ground in pain, her body contorting in agony.

I said, "This is the fate of being a dog's lackey. Quickly find a good family to be reborn into. I hope you live a better human life in your next one."

Seeing that I had dealt with Zhou Ying Ying, Brother Hui roared, threw his wine cup, and lunged at me with a long sword.

Xie Na Na screamed for me to be careful and then moved to block Brother Hui's sword. The sharp blade pierced through Xie Na Na's chest. Xie Na Na swayed and fell into my arms.

Brother Hui hadn't expected his sword to hit his niece. He pulled it back, his hand loosening, and the sword fell to the ground.

Holding Xie Na Na, I looked at Brother Hui with anger. A trace of guilt flickered across Brother Hui's face, but he quickly regained his composure. Knowing I was too weak to kill him now, he crossed his arms and watched me calmly.

Xie Na Na was not dead yet. She whispered, "Husband, I'm so cold. Can we go home?"

Xie Na Na was losing too much blood, and her body temperature was gradually dropping, which is why she felt cold. I held her and rushed out. I needed to find a hospital, stop her bleeding, save her!

I kept calling Xie Na Na's name, afraid she would fall asleep and become unrecoverable.

Suddenly, I heard someone calling my name by my ear, "Li Hua, Li Hua, wake up!"

I tried hard to open my eyes and saw several heads: Jing Lei's, Lan Ya's, and then Senior and Da Kui standing beside them.

Senior said, "You're finally awake."

What? Was I dreaming just now?

And the scene where I saw myself being resuscitated, was that all a dream?

Does that mean Zhou Ying Ying and Xie Na Na are not dead?

A string of questions popped into my head. I looked at them with confusion and asked, "Did the doctor ask you to sign something just now?"

Jing Lei paused for a moment before replying, "Yes, they asked us to sign, but it wasn't just now. It was three days ago. The doctor said they had done all they could, and your breathing had stopped for a long time; they were helpless and asked us to sign to abandon resuscitation. Neither Lan Ya nor I agreed. The doctor reluctantly went back to continue the resuscitation, and look, they still saved you!"

So, everything I saw was real.

Or rather, even though I had stopped breathing then, my consciousness was still active, and I clearly heard their conversation.

However, I didn't see Xie Na Na in the crowd.

I asked Senior, "Xie Na Na isn't here?"

Senior said, "Xie Na Na doesn't know you're in trouble. I didn't tell her."

I breathed a sigh of relief. It was best she didn't know. Unlike Jing Lei and Lan Ya, she hadn't been through these experiences. Knowing about it would be too much for her emotionally.

Jing Lei was wiping the blood scabs from my face with a warm towel. I had been in the intensive care unit for the past few days, and they weren't allowed in, only allowed to worry from the outside.

I continued to ask Senior, "What about Zhou Ying Ying? Is she still at the hotel? And where are Wen Si Qiang and the others?"
