There were countless ships upon the sea, all operating within a specific maritime zone. If they were to engage in naval warfare, it would undoubtedly be a historic event, as these vessels were the fruits of modern technological advancement, capable of unleashing immense destructive power. A naval battle of this magnitude would surely be etched into world history, studied by countless individuals. However, they were not currently engaged in conflict with each other; instead, they were preparing to face a wave of psychics from China. Though few in number, their formidable strength could not be underestimated. Only by uniting the world's fleets could China be suppressed.
Hundreds of modern warships were positioned at sea, fully manned by soldiers proficient in operating their weaponry.
These ships were equipped with advanced fighter jets, long-range missiles, and most importantly, an abundance of firepower for support, signifying a full-scale war where their might would be directly displayed.
Onboard one of these vessels, within a warehouse, two youths were hidden in a corner. They dared not reveal their presence, thus refraining from lighting any lamps. Even from their hiding spot, they remained vigilant, constantly wary of anyone entering. Fortunately, everyone's attention was focused on the naval engagement at sea, and no one had discovered the presence of two strangers aboard their ship.
These two individuals were none other than Du Fansheng and Yue Cangshan. Their original objective was to sabotage military bases in the Arctic region. However, they stumbled upon unexpected news: many ships from these military bases were preparing to participate in an operation to encircle Chinese psychics, an action that had been in the works for a considerable time. Consequently, the two halted their plans and instead concealed themselves aboard one of the ships, following the fleet into the depths of the Arctic Ocean.
"I heard these ships have been launching missiles. Should we start our operation? If these missiles continue to be fired, it's possible for our people in China to get injured!" Yue Cangshan inquired first.
Du Fansheng replied, "It's not yet the most dangerous moment. We must wait until the situation escalates to its peak before making our move. Otherwise, if we expose ourselves too early, it would be detrimental! Our prolonged infiltration would be rendered meaningless!"
"Then when should we make our move? And at most, the two of us can only damage one warship. We can't possibly influence the situation on a large scale, can we?" Yue Cangshan still had doubts.
Naval combat was not as straightforward as land combat. On land, there were numerous footholds, allowing for freedom of movement. However, at sea, destroying one ship and then proceeding to another would be difficult, unless one could fly. Otherwise, large-scale destruction was simply not feasible.
Du Fansheng explained, "That's why we need to act at the critical moment. There are many ice floes on the sea, which will surely provide landing points. Then, we can sequentially destroy ships, creating an opening for our Chinese people!"
Yue Cangshan was unsure of what to do, but since his sworn elder brother had spoken, it was at least a plan. Besides waiting, there was indeed nothing else they could do. Thus, the two could only continue to hide in the warehouse. As long as they remained silent, the people on the ship would be unable to discover them.
Near Siberia, the fleet had already suffered heavy losses. Twenty modern warships were sunk at that moment. The individuals responsible for this feat were none other than Shen Feng's younger brother-in-law, Chang Haojie. It was said that he possessed absolute air superiority, but approaching the ships below was not easy, as the sea was already a dense net of artillery shells and bullets. If one were to descend carelessly, they would likely be riddled with holes. Thus, he could only circle in the sky.
Fortunately, Jin Zijue was also in the sky. He was like Thor descending upon the world, or Zeus from Greek mythology, constantly hurling lightning spears from the heavens. He was the absolute master, and lightning continuously struck, destroying radar stations and damaging numerous signal receivers. This rendered the fleet unable to obtain information from the sky. Relying solely on eyesight would make identification even more difficult. Ultimately, after a prolonged battle, they tore open a gap and approached the sea surface to destroy the ships.
During the destruction of the ships, Guo Pinming performed exceptionally well. After all, he could control metal. As long as he approached the ships, he could cause the metal on the vessels to twist and contort, leading to either breakage or damage. Large amounts of seawater would then pour into the hulls. This seawater was filled with radioactive substances, and it was estimated that it would take several years for it to dilute. Thus, the ships continued to sink. Before dawn, twenty warships had directly submerged, and most of the people aboard did not survive.
Chang Haojie was very pleased with his night's work, feeling he had achieved something remarkable by directly creating an opening. The battles fought by psychics were incredibly terrifying. Even with the enhancement of technology, ordinary people were not necessarily a match for psychics.
However, Chang Haojie soon learned of an incident: the ice mountain where they were located had been attacked by European psychics the previous night. If Shen Feng had not awakened in time, everyone would have been in mortal danger.
At that moment, Chang Haojie understood that his decision had been too rash. He had only focused on creating an opening to breach the encirclement, but he had not anticipated that his departure would leave their base vulnerable.
"I underestimated those scoundrels. They deliberately used missile bombardment to force us out to fight, but while we were out fighting, they sent a small contingent of elites to raid our base. How despicable and shameless!" Chang Haojie said angrily.
At this point, Guo Pinming stated, "The City Lord has sent word that he plans to destroy other fleets. Should we act together now?"
"Of course, we should act together. Did everyone get tired after a night's work?" Chang Haojie asked as a matter of course.
No one objected, and thus, the decision was made.
Qin Ke Wei declared, "This time, we will destroy all these Western ships, letting them know that provoking China leads to destruction! After this battle, their spines will be completely broken, and they will understand who is truly in charge of this world from now on! Shen Feng will end the apocalypse, and China will rise to prominence!"
The group in the clouds rested briefly, finding compressed biscuits and dried meat on their persons. While chewing the dried meat, they nibbled on the compressed biscuits. If they felt thirsty, they would take out mineral water to drink. Everyone was seizing the opportunity to recover their strength, as they still had to travel to other directions to assist Shen Feng in attacking the remaining fleets.
Everyone was filled with excitement, as they believed they could absolutely achieve their goal. The previous night, they had destroyed twenty warships with their abilities, and the fighter jets on those ships had not even dared to fly. During the day, their side also saw improvements, and they would gain an absolute advantage in combat.
However, the Western fleets seemed to have received the news of the devastating blow to other fleets and began to consolidate. Within a mere two hours, they had formed a circular combat formation, capable of defending against attacks from all directions and coordinating their firepower for sustained firing.
This arrangement conveniently allowed Shen Feng and Chang Haojie to locate their enemies without having to travel extensively. Although the enemies were gathered together, making them appear much stronger, they held an absolute advantage and could still achieve victory through continued combat.
When Shen Feng appeared, Chang Haojie couldn't help but ask, "Brother-in-law, why do you have so much white hair on your head now?"
Shen Feng replied calmly, "It's not important. What's important is that we will act together now to destroy all the ships below. Counting them, there are still over ninety more! Once these ships are dealt with, we will launch the meteorite to the moon, and then there will be peace throughout the land!"
Chang Haojie nodded in agreement, believing that his brother-in-law would surely be able to accomplish this.
Wang Xi Qiang, upon seeing the dense array of ships on the sea, remarked, "These people above have definitely never heard of the 'Chain Strategy' or read 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms.' If something unexpected happens, with so many ships gathered together, there will be immense casualties. Even if they want to escape, it will be too late to turn around!"
Shen Feng asked, "What do you want to do, kid?"
Wang Xi Qiang replied, "I want to secretly link all these ships together, but I need to get close to the water's surface. If someone could stall for time, that would be great. I can use salt to fix them all in place, and then no one will be able to escape!"
Just then, from a ship below, someone shouted in Chinese, "Mr. Shen Feng, I know you are in the sky. If possible, please communicate with us! We are all humans, there's no need to keep fighting each other. Humanity's future should be in exploring the stars and seas, not fighting and killing on Earth!"
Shen Feng heard this and said, "We have an opportunity to stall for time. Let's go down together now, but be sure to maintain defenses! These people are likely preparing to ambush us, so those with defensive capabilities should prepare their defenses. If anything seems amiss, then deploy defenses, and Ah Qiang, you use your abilities to connect all these ships!"
Wang Xi Qiang also realized that the current situation was like a pillow arriving just when one felt sleepy. He had just mentioned his plan to use a "Chain Strategy," and unexpectedly, those people were giving him an opportunity.
Taking advantage of this moment, Wang Xi Qiang asked, "Master, when you were attacked last night, did Luo Hui have any accidents?"
Shen Feng's planned attack this time did not involve other people, as most of those on the ice mountain had already sustained severe injuries. It was no longer suitable to send them into battle; it was better to have them guard the meteorite, as they would be safe.
Now, Shen Feng heard the question, his eyes dimmed slightly, and he said helplessly, "Last night, Luo Hui died in battle while protecting me!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Xi Qiang shook his head in dismay, saying, "My sister finally found a man she liked, but fate is unpredictable, and he died. What bad luck. My sister will be heartbroken when she hears this news. They had agreed to get married after the battle ended!"
Shen Feng then said, "To prevent your sister from being even more heartbroken, we must fight as hard as possible. Achieving victory will bring her complete peace of mind!"
Subsequently, the group slowly descended in the clouds. The people on these ships did not fire their cannons or guns; instead, they watched in stunned silence as these individuals descended from the sky. Many of them trembled, as if they had seen demons.
They had all heard about the other fleet, how twenty ships had been destroyed in one night, with virtually no survivors. Those who fell into the water died tragically due to the effects of radioactive substances. The thought that they might suffer the same fate filled them with immense fear.
On one of the ships, there were still over forty remaining psychics. These individuals stood together, awaiting Shen Feng's descent.
Tom saw Shen Feng descend and said, "Mr. Shen, your Chinese people have a very short-sighted perspective. If you obtained the meteorite left by extraterrestrials in space, you should share it with everyone and strive for the evolution of all humanity. But now you are hoarding it, and not even studying it, intending to launch it into space or to the moon. This is going too far. If you intend to dispose of the meteorite, you should have consulted the opinions of all humanity, not made a unilateral decision!"
Shen Feng calmly replied, "Do you represent all of humanity? You are merely the power displayed by some developed countries. If we truly consider the opinions of all humanity, almost everyone wishes for the end of the apocalypse. As long as this meteorite remains on Earth, it will inevitably trigger a series of reactions. Only by removing this meteorite from Earth can the apocalypse truly end."
Atlas then stated, "Shen Feng, after many years of research, I have developed a virus. Once spread to all of humanity, it can purify everyone. I have many such new humans around me. They possess strong bodies and agile minds, surpassing ordinary people in both intellect and physical fitness. Therefore, all you need to do is join us, and together we will march towards evolution!"
"You claim you can make all of humanity evolve, so why are you still trying to seize the meteorite? There must be a problem with this. Stop peddling your so-called virus!" Shen Feng said coldly.
Atlas explained, "Because this virus still has some flaws. While those infected by the virus have begun to evolve, with improvements in both their brains and bodies, their emotions have become problematic. Almost everyone has lost their emotions. They can think normally, but they are very... I do not wish for such a situation to occur. I desire humanity with comprehensive development. Therefore, by obtaining the meteorite and its information, I can strengthen humanity's shortcomings and elevate the emotions of these new humans simultaneously!"
Shen Feng sneered, "You are truly daydreaming. Humanity cannot suddenly become perfect. Purification requires long-term accumulation. Genetic modification is necessary to truly become stronger, not by relying on a so-called virus to enhance humanity and lead to evolution. These people you experimented on have lost their emotions. In my eyes, that is the effect of the virus. What is the difference between humans who have lost their emotions and beasts?"
"Then what is the meaning of what you are doing? Such a valuable meteorite, a technological achievement left by extraterrestrials, obtaining it could lead to a leap in human technology. Then we could even travel in space. Only then can we graduate and avoid the same path as the extraterrestrials, avoiding energy depletion and dying on a single planet. Are you not considering humanity's future?" Tom continued to accuse Shen Feng.
Shen Feng calmly responded to this statement, "I have not completely blocked off this path. I merely intend to launch the meteorite to the moon. If the technology on the meteorite is truly needed, we can then develop aerospace and travel to the moon to retrieve the meteorite and extract its technology. However, as you said, if a child holds overly advanced weapons, such as a gun, accidental discharge is possible!"
"If humanity fails to develop advanced technology and can only deplete its energy and be trapped on Earth, Shen Feng! Then you are the greatest sinner." Tom branded Shen Feng with this title.
Shen Feng, however, replied, "There is still plenty of energy on Earth, enough to last for at least another thousand years. The future of humanity at that time is not something either you or I can predict!"
Tom shook his head and suddenly shouted, "Attack!"
At his command, the people on the clouds became vigilant and immediately deployed various defensive measures. On a nearby large ship, there were very few people, which did not attract everyone's attention, as many were afraid to stay on the deck. However, at this moment, an explosion suddenly occurred on this sparsely populated ship. Dark red clouds emerged and spread outwards instantly. The people on the ship immediately donned gas masks, and the thick smoke billowed upwards, soaring into the sky in an instant.
"Everyone be careful, this thing must be poisonous. If you accidentally inhale this smoke, you will surely be poisoned to death!" Shen Feng shouted loudly.
The people on the clouds generally did not carry gas masks. Now, facing an attack, they appeared flustered. Fortunately, Shen Feng used a protective shield to cover this entire area of clouds, preventing the external toxic gas from entering.
While descending, Shen Feng had already guessed that this group of people certainly had ill intentions. They had requested a dialogue before the battle, which was clearly a ploy for an ambush. Now, he was surprised that they were using a "harming the enemy while also harming oneself" tactic by employing large amounts of poisonous clouds for attack.
One must realize that once these poisonous gases appeared, they could easily spread to the surrounding areas, affecting even their own people.
Wang Xi Qiang then stated, "These ships have already been connected by Shi Yan. They cannot escape. We will settle accounts with them slowly. For now, let's raise our position and prevent them from approaching us!"
The attention of these people was largely focused on the sky, as Shen Feng and his group were primarily airborne. No one noticed the subtle changes occurring in the sea. The bottoms of these ships were covered with large salt crystals, forming numerous salt particles that connected one to another, eventually forming a single mass.
Even the propellers of the warships had been fixed by Shi Yan, rendering them unable to rotate. The ships were also connected by salt, as if bound by iron chains. Anyone who had read "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" would surely understand the situation. A single fire could make this group regret their actions immensely.
However, at this very moment, numerous cannon barrels suddenly rotated and fired missiles towards the clouds. These missiles launched incessantly, with incredible speed, reaching the protective shield in an instant. With a "rumble," the Wind King Barrier, after being attacked by missiles, immediately developed numerous cracks. If it were to suffer continuous missile attacks, this protective shield would undoubtedly shatter.
Sweat appeared on Chang Haojie's forehead. He was controlling the clouds to ascend, but due to the aerial conditions, the speed was not very fast. During this time, they had to endure various missile attacks.
"The plan has succeeded. Now, we just need to continuously lock onto them with missiles and keep firing. We will definitely ensure they all perish!" Tom said excitedly.
This scheme was his doing. He had identified the enemy's weakness and was now employing a targeted approach. One or two missiles might not threaten these individuals, but what about hundreds or thousands? They would be unstoppable. Moreover, missiles were weapons that even ordinary people could operate, yet they could threaten the lives of psychics.
Atlas stated, "Do not underestimate Shen Feng. He was able to kill Andorf, which indicates his power is unimaginable. It is clearly not easy to kill him with a few missiles!"
"Hmph, if missiles cannot kill him, what about the 6th-generation fighter jets? I have prepared everything. Now, all forces will attack together. Whether on the sea or in the air, I possess overwhelming strength!" Tom said maniacally.
After he finished speaking, fighter jets took off from countless warships. These fighter jets flew at extremely high speeds. Upon reaching the sky, they broke the sound barrier with a brief acceleration, leaving a ring of condensation behind them, and then surpassed the speed of sound, flying towards the clouds. This speed was far greater than Shen Feng's.
Human bodies have limits, but many machines do not have such limits, or their limits far exceed those of humans. While Shen Feng could now exceed the speed of sound, fighter jets could reach three times the speed of sound. This speed was something humans could only dream of.
