Chapter 886: Chapter 886: [Extra] You Also Have a Boyfriend Who Loves You

After returning from the wedding site, Sheng Ning’an wrapped the bouquet with a string and hung it under the eaves of the cabin to dry, planning to make it into dried flowers and take it back as a keepsake after the camping trip ends.

After having dinner at the camp’s restaurant that evening, Xu Weiran looked at Sheng Ning’an and said, “Shall we go stargazing?”

The last time they were here, because Tang Dou and others were around, they had limited time alone. This time, it was just the two of them, without worrying about interruptions.

“Sure!” Sheng Ning’an nodded.

By then, the sky had already darkened a bit. They walked along the path lit by lights, heading towards the lakeside they visited last time.

The temperature difference between day and night in October is quite large, especially in the mountains. After only a few steps, it started to feel a bit chilly. Just as Sheng Ning’an was considering going back for a jacket, she suddenly felt warm as Xu Weiran draped his jacket over her shoulders.

“Thank you!”

Sheng Ning’an tightened the jacket around her and asked, “Aren’t you cold? How about we go back and get you a jacket too?”

“No need,” Xu Weiran said, “I’m not cold.”

As if to prove what he said, Xu Weiran held her hand, his palm warm.

The glass walkway they visited during the day was right by the lake, and at this hour, there were still quite a few people there, mostly young couples.

Sheng Ning’an and Xu Weiran walked hand in hand along the lakeside and, finding it too crowded to find a good spot for stargazing, headed back towards the cabin.

There was a bonfire party happening on the lawn, with an open-air movie, and even someone setting off fireworks in the camp, making it livelier than the last time they visited.

Even though Sheng Ning’an wasn’t usually one to join in on lively events, she was drawn by the camp’s atmosphere and pulled Xu Weiran over.

As they got closer, they heard a girl complaining about the mosquitoes at the camp. While complaining, she diligently sprayed mosquito repellent all over herself and her boyfriend.

After spraying, she even sprayed a few times into the air around them. Just as Sheng Ning’an was about to stop her, they heard a loud “bang” as the mosquito spray contacted the bonfire and exploded.

Flames suddenly leapt high up, directly igniting the hem of the girl’s dress.

Apart from her boyfriend, who immediately rushed to help put out the fire, everyone else was startled and instinctively scrambled to run away to the edges.

Sheng Ning’an and Xu Weiran happened to be standing on the outer edge, almost knocked off balance by the panicked crowd, but thankfully Xu Weiran quickly pulled her into his protective embrace.

Once the crowd dispersed, Xu Weiran then looked her over and asked, “Are you okay?”

Sheng Ning’an lifted her head from his embrace and said, “I’m fine, how about you?”

“I’m fine too.”

They then looked over to the center of the bonfire.

Fortunately, the fire was extinguished in time, and the girl wasn’t hurt; she was now crying in her boyfriend’s arms. The bonfire in the middle was quickly put out by staff who rushed in, making it a narrow escape without injury.

With the near-accident, everyone lost their mood and gradually dispersed.

Sheng Ning’an and Xu Weiran also returned to the cabin.

Thinking back to the moment of the accident when the boy dashed forward without hesitation, Sheng Ning’an couldn’t help but grip Xu Weiran’s hand tightly.

Feeling her emotional shift, Xu Weiran looked down at her and asked, “What’s wrong? Were you frightened just now?”

“It’s nothing,” Sheng Ning’an shook her head and looked up at him, “I just wanted to say, thank you!”

When she’s with him, she never seems to envy anyone else’s love!
