On Friday after class, Su Yue took a taxi to the Yuluo Street Police Station as usual.
She happened to catch the New Year's Day holiday, and she could rest for a few days.
She could stay with him for a few more days, and just thinking about it made her happy.
However, when she arrived at the station, other police officers said he had gone out on a call, so she obediently walked to her usual spot and sat down.
After waiting for about an hour, a tall police officer in uniform escorted a prisoner into the hall. There were other police officers and prisoners around, which immediately caused a commotion.
Su Yue looked up and met his gaze. His originally cold and stern eyes instantly softened. He raised an eyebrow at her, signaling her to wait a moment longer.
Then, his expression turned fierce again, and he pushed the prisoner towards the interrogation room.
It had to be said, Chen Ziming's eyes were quite intimidating when he was acting as a police officer.
Su Yue sighed softly and picked up her phone again, using this time to review the electronic version of the exam syllabus.
Lost in her reading, she suddenly heard someone call her.
"Miss Su, are you here waiting for Officer Chen?"
She looked up in surprise. Upon seeing Chi Yiran smiling, her heart sank.
But outwardly, she still managed a polite smile, nodded, and gave a soft hum.
Chi Yiran didn't leave. Instead, she sat down beside her, appearing somewhat troubled.
Su Yue didn't ask, patiently waiting for her to speak.
After a moment, Chi Yiran finally spoke cautiously, "Did I make you angry last time?"
Su Yue couldn't help but frown. She turned her head slightly to glance at Chi Yiran. Seeing her sincere expression, she suddenly found it amusing.
Recalling her previous argument with Chen Ziming, she decided not to engage in a lengthy conversation with Chi Yiran.
So, just as before, she responded with a simple hum.
Chi Yiran hadn't expected such a reaction from Su Yue, but she continued as planned:
"I'm sorry, I wasn't like this before. Perhaps recently... my mind has been too messy. Officer Chen was the last person to see my father alive, and he even found me a job, so my behavior was a bit out of line."
Her sudden mention of the deceased police officer softened Su Yue slightly.
However, Su Yue still remembered what Chen Ziming had mentioned: Chi Yiran didn't seem to care about her father's death. She couldn't quite figure out Chi Yiran's true intentions.
Therefore, she still didn't show much reaction, responding with another hum.
Chi Yiran fell silent.
She had thought of many possible reactions from Su Yue and had planned several ways to respond.
However, this lukewarm attitude left her with nowhere to direct her efforts.
Taking a deep breath, she found something else to talk about, "Miss Su seems to have a rather cold personality."
"Mm." she replied again.
A flicker of anger ignited within Chi Yiran, but she still managed a smile, "No wonder Officer Chen blocked me. I suppose he must never dare to provoke you usually."
As she said this, she deliberately revealed a smile of indulgence, as if looking at a childish young girl.
Su Yue truly found it boring. She simply hummed again, stood up, and went to the women's lounge.
Chi Yiran stared incredulously at her retreating back. Then, her face, which was already not kind, became filled with a chilling darkness.
