Regretful Lovelife

Chapter 1000 - Supreme Ancestor

The aura wrapping around this man was no longer immortal might, but true Nirvana Void Power.

He was a Nirvana Void-level powerhouse, the pinnacle of the mortal world, an existence that had already transcended.

His gaze swept across everyone present, and each person felt a crushing pressure, as if their very hearts were being seen through.

He bowed deeply toward the God Emperor.

“God Emperor, if you step back, we shall take this power of order. How about it?”

“Supreme, do you think this thing can hold this Emperor back for long?” the God Emperor said lightly.

But when the words “Supreme” came out of his mouth, everyone trembled.

After all, Xu Zimo’s assault on the Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground had already drawn the attention of the entire continent. Everyone was watching this battle in their own unique way.

The apex of Heaven: to grasp sun and moon, to control the stars, to decide the rise and fall of all.

The apex of Earth: to tread the Nine Netherworlds, transcend reincarnation, and transform the map of divinity.

The apex of Immortality: to finally achieve Supremacy.

This was the first general under the Extinction Emperor in ancient times, an old monster who had survived countless eras, standing tall in this world.

Truth be told, by his age, if he hadn’t stepped into the Nirvana Void realm, he should have long been dead.

The title “Supreme” was not given by the Extinction Emperor, but bestowed by the Firmament Emperor, after the two fought a hundred rounds without victory or defeat. It was that battle that made the Supreme Ancestor famous in one stroke.

Thus, he knew full well how terrifying a Grand Emperor was, and he also respected the God Emperor deeply.

At this moment, hearing the God Emperor’s words, the Supreme Ancestor calmly replied: “We don’t need to hold you for long. The Primordial Heartlands has its own laws and rules. The Grand Emperor’s time here is limited. When that time runs out, you will be forcibly summoned into the Outer Heavens.”

His meaning was clear. They could not imprison the God Emperor, nor did they need to. They just had to wait until time itself forced him away. This was also one of the reasons why every Grand Emperor was compelled to ascend when their time came.

“And why does the God Emperor not think about your own future?” the Supreme Ancestor continued. “Here in the Primordial Heartlands, you are unmatched. But once you enter the Outer Heavens, everything begins anew. We of the Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground have five Grand Emperors there already. Do you think you will survive?”

“You dare threaten me?” the God Emperor’s eyes narrowed, his tone flat.

Back then, his Heaven’s Will had been shattered by three Grand Emperors joining forces. That humiliation had always been a scar in his heart. No other Grand Emperor in history had ever suffered such disgrace.

“It is not a threat, only a statement of fact,” the Supreme Ancestor shook his head calmly.

“Then let’s test it,” the God Emperor snorted coldly, sitting cross-legged within the power of order, seeking a way to escape.

The Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground was not in a hurry. The Supreme Ancestor’s gaze then fell upon Xu Zimo.

“Young heroes rise early. You are impressive. I have heard of your deeds.”

“I know you too. What a pity, your Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground has no successors,” Xu Zimo shook his head.

“Where is Lu Changhen? Does he not even have the courage to face me directly? If so, what use is striving for Heaven’s Will? He might as well find a grave now.”

“Holy Son Xu, your momentum shakes the world, you have already destroyed several imperial sects. Naturally, he dares not face you,” the Supreme Ancestor replied. “Cowardice or fear, it is only human nature. Even I, knowing there are still Grand Emperors alive in this world, feel unease in my heart. But what matters is not fear itself but facing it head-on. That is the path a true strong one must walk.”

“Then has he faced his fear?” Xu Zimo laughed.

“He will, given time,” the Supreme Ancestor replied. Then he looked toward the distant horizon and chuckled softly.

“Sky Shroud, it has been a long time.”

The void was torn open by a massive hand, and the figure of the Sky Shroud War God stepped out.

Clad in battle robes, he looked as he had back when he followed Grand Emperor Zhen Wu, though streaks of silver now ran through his long hair. His withered skin was covered in wrinkles.

He was an old man, seemingly at the candle’s last flicker. Compared to the Supreme Ancestor, there was an obvious gap.

An old man, a middle-aged man.

“Supreme, I agree with your words, one must face their fears,” the Sky Shroud War God smiled. “But tell me, have you faced yours?”

“What fear do I have?” the Supreme Ancestor chuckled lightly.

“We are old,” the War God said. “The ship of the old era has already sailed away. When the new ship sails toward the future, we are destined to become mere spectators. You still cannot let go, can you?”

Seeing the Supreme Ancestor remain silent, the War God kept smiling.

“Why don’t you try and find out?” the Supreme Ancestor replied calmly.

While they spoke, more figures emerged from the Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground’s immortal mountains.

“With such a lively scene, how could we be absent?”

Three figures arrived.

One looked like a savage, as if he had just emerged from some primeval forest. His clothes were in tatters, his skin dark like bronze, his long hair and beard covering his entire face.

Another was a fat man, wearing a wide robe, his large belly exposed. On his left foot he stood upon a green ring, on his right upon a flying bangle. In his left hand he held a flaming bow, on his right he wore a celestial rope. Around his neck hung a string of rare treasures. His face was stern, not prone to laughter.

The last was like a Daoist master, dressed in white-cloud robes, immortal bearing and Daoist charm.

Though his hair and beard were white, he radiated a sense of endless vitality.

“Mountain Ancestor, Treasure Daoist, and Nine Dao,” the Sky Shroud War God chuckled.

“It seems everyone is here.”

One sect with five Grand Emperors, these five were naturally the sect’s five war generals.

Now, only these five had emerged, but no one would believe that the vast Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground consisted only of them. The sect had stood for thousands of years. The number of powerhouses it had cultivated was beyond count.

At this moment, even those who had not yet appeared within the immortal mountains were releasing terrifying auras. Their might soared into the skies, as if declaring war on their enemies.

The mist above the heavens was blown apart, revealing the immortal mountains in their true form, and the presence of immortals close at hand.

The Mountain Ancestor let out a long Daoist chant, sitting cross-legged in the void, as if merging with the immortal mountain itself. It was said that when the Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground first established its gate here, the Mountain Ancestor, in his early cultivation, had fused himself with this very immortal mountain, becoming one with the vast mountains of the land.

While all living beings cultivated to take human form, he longed instead to become a great mountain.

As for the Treasure Daoist, countless artifacts orbited his body. Should he casually toss one out, the world would fight to claim it. Though his own strength might not have been the greatest, with his treasures unleashed, no one dared underestimate him.

The radiance of countless treasures shone brilliantly, and he was long renowned as one who delighted in collecting and hoarding rare objects.
