Chapter 88 Get Out If You Don't Want to Die

As soon as the barrier was formed, the girl's mind was consumed by a searing heat…

In the last moment before losing consciousness, she felt her delicate body being embraced by another burning form.

Then, he began his next move, and she found herself unable to resist, even involuntarily cooperating with him…

After a long while, the girl regained her senses to find herself lying naked in his arms. Angrily, she pushed him away.

Standing up, she quickly dressed and, looking at the sleeping Mo Qi, raised her right hand, preparing to strike.

A crystal tear rolled down, landing on Mo Qi's face. Mo Qi's eyelids twitched, and the girl slowly lowered her hand.

She fixed her captivating eyes on him.

Mo Qi slowly opened his eyes and saw "Pei Ruxue" standing before him, tears welling in her eyes, her face etched with endless resentment. She turned and left.

Mo Qi immediately stood up, intending to chase after her, only to realize he was naked. He quickly crouched down and dressed himself in haste.

Then he pursued her swiftly.

He naturally knew what had happened; the feeling was like soaring through the clouds.

Yet, he was puzzled. Although he saw Pei Ruxue before him, he felt as if there were invisible wings, and her body seemed even more delicate than Pei Ruxue's.

What exactly was going on?

The girl returned to the hidden place. Everyone eagerly asked, "How was it? Did you kill him? Why did it take so long?"

Tears streamed from the girl's eyes as she looked at the hunched figure. "Big Brother, he and I stepped on the Hehuan grass."

Silence descended, and the air froze.

The man with a protruding forehead roared, "I'll go kill him!" and made to leave.

The girl cried out, "Second Brother, can you not kill him?"

The hunched figure pondered for a long time and said, "Perhaps, this is your destiny."

Mo Qi sped forth. Around a mountain bend, he saw Pei Ruxue approaching. From afar, Mo Qi smiled and said, "You've finally come around? Why are you running? What's there to be shy about? I will take responsibility for you."

Pei Ruxue stopped, stunned by his words. "What have I come around to? What responsibility do you have for me?"

Mo Qi, thinking she was still embarrassed, simply smiled.

"We've gone in circles and found nothing. Let's go out," Mo Qi said.

His gaze towards her had softened considerably.

Pei Ruxue felt he was acting strangely, but couldn't pinpoint why.

They walked all the way to the mountain gate. Many people were still gathered there, seemingly more than before.

"Why don't we leave? The Gu Diao probably isn't here," Pei Ruxue said to Mo Qi beside her.

"Let's wait a bit longer," Mo Qi replied calmly and walked into a nearby tea stall. Pei Ruxue had no choice but to follow.

At some point, a tea stall had been set up with a few tables. Each person had a cup of tea before them. The stall was full, and three people who were sitting idly without drinking tea were kicked out by the proprietor.

Pei Ruxue immediately sat in one of the empty seats, and Mo Qi quickly followed. There was only one stool left. Mo Qi quickly moved to occupy one end of it, grabbing a spot.

Almost simultaneously, two other people rushed in. One sat on the other end of the stool. The other, a step behind Mo Qi, saw that Mo Qi's seat still had a bit of the stool exposed and forcefully squeezed in. Thus, half of his buttocks sat on the stool, and the other half sat on Mo Qi's leg. Moreover, the two of them sandwiched Mo Qi, looking aggressive.

Was the seat-grabbing so brazen? Mo Qi turned his head to look and finally saw the man's appearance. He looked to be around thirty, with two scars on his face forming a cross, the intersection point between his eyes, narrowly missing them, but making him look ferocious.

The man, knowing he was a step behind Mo Qi, still refused to yield. With a scowl, he glared at Mo Qi, constantly pushing towards Mo Qi, trying to force him out or make him retreat. He shouted arrogantly, "Kid, if you don't want to die, get lost. I'm in a bad mood and don't want to waste my breath on you."

Indeed, he saw Mo Qi's youthful face and assumed he was just a child barely out of his shell, thus believing he had him cornered.

The person who came with him, a rather portly man, now wore a wicked grin. He subtly exerted force, pushing Mo Qi towards the scarred man, clearly intending to incite trouble.

The scarred man felt Mo Qi's body resisting him and immediately flew into a rage. He threw a punch straight at Mo Qi's face. He thought that if this fist, the size of a sandbag, landed squarely, it would surely smash the kid's face to pieces! He probably wouldn't even be recognized by his own mother.

He even felt a pang of pity for the child in his heart. As expected, the child was already too scared to dodge. The punch could land squarely on his cheek at the estimated position. The scarred man thought to himself, "It's your own fault for not having eyes. Next life, grow a handsome face."

However, strangely, he suddenly noticed the other person smiling. What was he smiling about? His last bit of defiance? Or had he gone mad from fear? It didn't matter; one punch would set him straight.

So, the punch landed clearly on Mo Qi's cheek. The scarred man expected the opponent's face to cave in, with flesh and blood splattering out, and the child to fall to the ground, clutching his face and writhing.

Indeed, the next moment, blood splattered everywhere, flesh and blood flying. The scarred man was triumphant, thinking this was the consequence of not knowing one's place. However, he suddenly felt a terrifying sensation: the opponent's face had not deformed, and there seemed to be no sign of pain; even the smile on his face had not changed.

Then, what was all that blood and flying flesh? It was undeniably real.

But then a fierce pain struck him, and he realized things were not so simple.

At first, it felt like a fierce bite, with little sensation. Then came a searing, bone-chilling pain. He instinctively withdrew the hand he had thrown out, only to discover with horror that his hand was bleeding profusely, his entire palm seemingly pulverized.

He finally realized that the flying flesh and blood from before was actually the destruction of his own palm. The scarred man watched the blood gush out like a fountain, let out a scream, and fainted.

The胖子's view was blocked by Mo Qi's body, and he had no idea what had happened. Seeing the scarred man on the ground writhing in pain and bleeding profusely, he immediately leaned down and pressed two pressure points, stopping the bleeding.

The胖子 stood up, glaring at Mo Qi with rage, veins bulging on his forehead. "What did you do to him?"

Mo Qi looked at him innocently, shrugged, and shook his head. "I didn't do anything. He attacked me, and then this happened."

The other six people at the same table had witnessed the entire scene clearly. Except for Pei Ruxue, who was still looking outside as if nothing had happened, the other five widened their eyes in disbelief.

The胖子 was furious and shouted, "I don't believe you!" He then raised his fist, larger than a sandbag, and struck towards Mo Qi.

Pei Ruxue suddenly shouted, "Stop!"

The胖子's fist froze in mid-air. Pei Ruxue's gaze was sharp, and she had secretly used her spiritual power to stop him.

"Show mercy when you can. There's no need to be so heavy-handed," Pei Ruxue said slowly. However, these words were not directed at the胖子, but at Mo Qi.

Mo Qi looked up and realized Pei Ruxue was speaking to him. He immediately smiled. "I'm the victim. You should say that to him." His gaze was as deep as the ocean, as dark as an abyss, and filled with the malevolence of hell. The胖子, as if touching a taboo, showed a look of terror, then hastily picked up the scarred man from the ground and stumbled out.

Mo Qi had only used his Soul Suppressing Technique to subtly warn him, and he had already fled. Of the five people at the same table, three, after glancing at Mo Qi, stood up abruptly, threw some loose silver on the table, and fled the tea stall as if their lives depended on it. The remaining two sat opposite Mo Qi, now looking at him with hostility.

Seeing an empty seat next to Pei Ruxue, Mo Qi moved to sit beside her. She was probably afraid that if someone else came in, unnecessary disputes might arise again. He didn't want to hurt anyone.

However, his action carried a different meaning in Pei Ruxue's eyes.

At this moment, the proprietor walked over, a smile plastered on his face, looking at Mo Qi and Pei Ruxue. "What would the two honored guests like?"

Mo Qi said, "I'll have a bowl of Tieguanyin."

Pei Ruxue: "Biluochun."

"I'm sorry, I only have Maojian here," the tea stall proprietor said.

Mo Qi: "..."

Pei Ruxue took a deep breath. "How much for a bowl of tea?"

The proprietor said very kindly, "The tea is free."

Mo Qi praised, "The proprietor is righteous."

The proprietor smiled sheepishly. "But these stools require payment to sit on."

Mo Qi rolled his eyes. "How much is the charge for these stools?"

"One tael of silver per seat, for half an hour," the proprietor stated without hesitation.

"You're price gouging!" Mo Qi exclaimed.

"My prices are already very friendly. Look at the people coming and going," the proprietor said. As soon as he finished speaking, three more people entered from outside, filling the three empty seats.

"Alright," Mo Qi waved his hand. "Go brew two bowls of tea."

The proprietor called out and turned to brew the tea.

The bearded man who had been sitting opposite Mo Qi, and was now beside him, stood up abruptly, glaring at Mo Qi. "You're going too far! You hit someone and then act as if nothing happened. Don't you feel ashamed?" The other person with him also stood up abruptly, standing side by side, glaring at Mo Qi.

Mo Qi also stood up, glanced around, and sighed. "I am ashamed, I am regretful, I am sad, I am almost in tears. Can you understand my grief and indignation at this moment?"

The bearded man slammed the table. "Good! You hit someone and now you're crying crocodile tears. Stop pretending, reveal your true colors!"

This was a pincer movement. Mo Qi felt like crying but had no tears. "If you want to fight, just say so. Do you have any sense of justice? I am the victim!"

The other person also slammed the table. "We just can't stand you. You're clearly weak, but you act like a strong person."

Mo Qi looked at Pei Ruxue. She didn't even look up. "Just drive them away. No need for bloodshed."

Mo Qi was now obedient to Pei Ruxue. Hearing this, he nodded. "Alright, drive them away. If they need to be driven away, then so be it."

He glanced at each of them, then walked in front of them and, like shooing ducks, said, "Hush, go, hush, go outside!"

The three people who had just entered at the same table, as well as people at the neighboring tables, burst into laughter. Wasn't this asking for a beating? They were almost certain that Mo Qi would be subjected to a storm of attacks from these two in the next moment.

However, after they blinked, they were astonished to find that the two men were indeed leaving in a daze under Mo Qi's shooing.

Everyone was dumbfounded, except for Pei Ruxue. She no longer found anything strange about Mo Qi's current bizarre behavior.

At this moment, the tea stall proprietor brought over two bowls of tea, placing one in front of Mo Qi and one in front of Pei Ruxue. The two then began drinking tea as if no one else was there.

"Is there any point in us waiting here like this?" After a while, Pei Ruxue suddenly said. She wasn't sure if she was asking Mo Qi or talking to herself.

"Since we're idle anyway, we might as well stay here," Mo Qi said, taking a sip of tea. "Besides, I find that enjoying tea and the night view in this place has its own unique charm."

Thinking so contentedly, he thought he was sitting on a recliner and leaned back, falling to the ground with a thud.

Mo Qi scrambled up awkwardly, still holding the tea bowl carefully as if afraid to spill a drop, and placed it on the table. Clearly, he had fallen squarely to protect the tea bowl.

Pei Ruxue covered her mouth and chuckled lightly, then quickly resumed her tea tasting as if nothing had happened.

The people at the same table were already laughing uncontrollably.

Mo Qi also smiled gracefully. "My apologies, a moment of clumsiness."

Seeing his composure, the others found it harder to laugh. The tea stall proprietor had brought their tea, and they each began to sip their tea.

After an hour, the tea stall proprietor came to collect the payment. Mo Qi gave him four taels of silver and pointed at Pei Ruxue. "We're together." Pei Ruxue was about to pay herself, but after looking at Mo Qi, she didn't refuse. Mo Qi then took out another twenty taels of silver and placed them on the table. "We'll stay for another five hours, and you can continue to brew us tea."
