648 Bai Chi Is Not an Idiot

In the midst of the dust and smoke, Mo Qi's figure erupted, piercing through layers of red light as he lunged towards the Red Chi. The Sky-Opening Axe in his hand descended from above, its unstoppable momentum forcing the Red Chi to dodge repeatedly.

The disc-like form of the Red Chi maneuvered through the air, continuously spewing a rain of red arrows, all of which Mo Qi deflected.

Simultaneously, his figure steadily closed the distance to the Red Chi.

Suddenly, the Red Chi's body flashed with a crimson glow and instantly expanded.

Mo Qi instinctively cleaved with the Sky-Opening Axe. With a thunderous roar, the red light violently dispersed in all directions, spreading like mist and pushing Mo Qi's figure backward.

He was sent flying several yards before falling to the ground.

Unexpectedly, the Red Chi's body also flew backward, crashing into the ground and creating a large pit as it reverted to its original form.

The Red Chi lay dejectedly in the pit, lamenting, "Too powerful, I can't win."

Mo Qi quickly got to his feet, while the Red Chi struggled to rise for a long time, appearing severely injured.

The clan leader and others rejoiced, seeing that Mo Qi could indeed deal with the Chi Mei.

They would no longer fear them.

Yao Shuang was also immensely excited, believing that the Earth Star world had hope of breaking the seal.

However, Mo Qi knew very well that the Red Chi was holding back; he hadn't actually injured him, yet the Red Chi feigned severe wounds.

What was his purpose in doing this?

To mock him?

To feign weakness to make him lower his guard, then deliver a fatal blow?

Only the White Chi saw clearly: the Red Chi deliberately lost to force his hand.

He truly wished he could strike the Red Chi dead with a single palm.

Upon reflection, he decided to endure. His companions couldn't all perish due to infighting, could they? It would be difficult to explain back home!

Thus, the White Chi swept his hand, and a circle materialized out of thin air. With another sweep, another circle appeared; with a third, yet another. In moments, the air was filled with a dense array of circles, one after another, striking towards Mo Qi.

Mo Qi swept his hand, unleashing spatial techniques, causing the air to ripple.

The ripples extended forward, snapping the circles.

The sound of clanging echoed incessantly as the circles fractured.

However, the broken circles then flew out, spinning from all directions and hurtling towards Mo Qi. Mo Qi unleashed the Azure Lotus Fire, its azure light rippling like water waves and spreading outwards. Upon a gentle collision with the circles, they dissolved into wisps of smoke.

The broken circles then surged forward again, converging from all directions to form new circles that precisely bound Mo Qi.

Mo Qi's body expanded, pushing the circles larger, but they immediately contracted, crushing him back to his original size, rendering him immobile.

He was trapped!

Yao Shuang formed hand seals, and crimson spherical illusions flew out from around her body. These spheres extended countless tentacles, striking towards the White Chi.

The White Chi sneered and pointed into the air. Numerous circles flew out, smashing the spheres.

Red tentacles still extended, but the White Chi calmly reinforced the circles onto himself, causing them to spin incessantly. His body was enveloped as if by a high-speed spinning top. When the tentacles reached him, they were severed inch by inch, dissolving into smoke.

The circles then suddenly expanded outwards, exploding. A tempest carrying divine light roared forth, devastatingly sweeping towards Yao Shuang like an unstoppable tide.

Yao Shuang's petite frame seemed insignificant before the torrent. It was evident that any contact would result in her being utterly annihilated.

At this moment, Mo Qi, encased in the circles, flew up and suddenly blocked the torrent.

His form expanded once more, becoming as colossal as a mountain in an instant.

The circles encasing him creaked and groaned.

The clan leader repeatedly shook his head, "It's over, it's over."

This young Great Emperor, who had made a dazzling debut, had given him some hope, making him believe that under his leadership, they could drive out the Chi.

Yet, in a fleeting moment, he had fallen, and was on the verge of perishing.

He himself was powerless!

In such a high-level confrontation, what could he do?

Besides lament, there seemed to be nothing else.

The torrent finally struck Mo Qi with immense force.

Amidst a deafening roar, light and energy shattered, sand and stones flew, and dust rapidly spread.

Fragments of multicolored divine light mixed with the dust, spreading outwards.

Within the dust, two figures tumbled out, locked in an embrace, and rolled onto the ground.

It was Mo Qi holding Yao Shuang!

Yao Shuang had only sustained minor injuries, while Mo Qi was almost completely mangled.

That violent impact, while shattering the circles on Mo Qi, had also wounded him.

Yao Shuang turned back to Mo Qi, her heart filled with concern, "Are you alright?"

Mo Qi waved his hand and quickly swallowed a healing pill.

Clan Leader Wang Zhongcheng was utterly astonished. Under that fierce impact, an ordinary person would have likely been reduced to nothing. This Great Emperor had miraculously survived, though he was battered and near death, he had still displayed extraordinary abilities.

What was even more shocking to the White Chi was that Mo Qi had been trapped within the circles, enduring the violent torrent. In his view, even if Mo Qi had been smashed into meat paste, the circles would not have vanished. Yet, to his shock, the circles had broken, and Mo Qi was still alive. This was utterly preposterous.

However, seeing Mo Qi's bloodied and mangled body, almost beyond survival, he paid it little mind, quietly waiting for Mo Qi to breathe his last.

Wang Zhongcheng and the Ten Great Warriors were also dejected. They looked at Mo Qi's battered form with heartache, yet felt helpless.

Believing Mo Qi was certainly doomed, they began to anticipate their own fates.

Wang Zhongcheng said, "Great Emperor, rest assured, we will join you shortly."

"What kind of assurance is that!" Mo Qi stood up and said, "Are you trying to anger me to death?"

Huh? He was alive again?

Wang Zhongcheng and the others' eyes widened, disbelieving what they saw.

The White Chi and Red Chi were also surprised. He had been on his last breath moments ago, and now he was jumping around again. How had he managed that?

The White Chi suppressed his unease and drew circles in the air again, creating a series of rings.

The Ten Great Warriors suddenly charged forward, "Great Emperor, Clan Leader, you must escape! As long as the green hills remain, there will be wood to burn."

Mo Qi shook his head; it was too late to stop them.

Wang Zhongcheng pulled Mo Qi, "Let's go, Great Emperor. As long as the green hills remain, there will be wood to burn."

In their eyes, their survival had no impact on the Chi, while their deaths might create a ripple.

The Great Emperor was different. With the Great Emperor alive, in time, he would surely be able to contend with the Chi.

Therefore, they wanted the Great Emperor to live.

Yao Shuang also felt that if Mo Qi were to confront the Chi head-on at this moment, it would be a sure path to death. Thus, a temporary retreat was advisable; escaping was paramount. As long as he lived, there would be future opportunities, after all, there were still decades left!

Thus, Yao Shuang and Wang Zhongcheng, one on each side, pulled Mo Qi and fled into the distance.

Mo Qi was involuntarily pulled forward a few steps.

When he looked back, the White Chi waved his hand dismissively, and the Ten Great Warriors had vanished into ashes.

It was then that Mo Qi realized the White Chi's immense power and that confronting him had indeed been somewhat reckless.

However, having encountered such a reckless situation, he had no choice but to continue.

Mo Qi forcefully shook them off, throwing Wang Zhongcheng and Yao Shuang aside.

Turning back, he faced the impending storm head-on, even if that storm would shatter him to pieces.

Thus, his spatial techniques were unleashed once more.

Pure air suddenly formed countless vortexes. As these vortexes spun, they created streaks of black holes, drawing the circles into them.

A smile played on Mo Qi's lips, "Nothing more than this."

The Red Chi also smiled, "A mere trick!"

With his words, the Red Chi raised his hand and unleashed ten thousand bolts of lightning. They flashed golden, crackled with thunder, and surged forward like a raging flood, washing away the black holes into smoke and dust.

The White Chi's circles continued to spin forward. Mo Qi dodged, but the circles were faster. While dodging, Mo Qi seemed to collide with them, entering a circle and being bound once more.

When Yao Shuang and the clan leader looked back, they saw Mo Qi bound, and their hearts sank.

"You're ganging up on me, what kind of heroes are you?" Mo Qi said indignantly.

The White Chi glared at the Red Chi, "Who told you to attack?"

"I was afraid you couldn't defeat him," the Red Chi said with a cold smile.

"I can't defeat him?"

"You can't defeat him," the Red Chi stated calmly.

The White Chi was furious, almost attacking.

The Red Chi said coldly, "I advise you not to act. I am not as easy to deal with as Blood Chi. If we fight, it will at least be a mutual destruction, at most, you will die."

"Internal strife?" Mo Qi quickly added fuel to the fire, "He's threatening you and looking down on you. Can you tolerate this?"

The White Chi indeed became enraged, veins bulging on his face, and he looked at the Red Chi, "You dare to look down on me?"

The Red Chi was not afraid to fight him, but he was wary of fighting him in this place. Thus, he tried to suppress his anger and said, "I didn't look down on you, I was just speaking casually."

"Even his casual words are so unpleasant. He's mocking you," Mo Qi said.

"You dare to mock me?" The White Chi stared furiously at the Red Chi.

The Red Chi rebuked, "Are you an idiot? You repeat whatever he says. He's sowing discord. Oh, I forgot, you really are White Chi."

"He's insulting you," Mo Qi said.

The White Chi could no longer bear it, and in a fit of rage, he unleashed his circles towards the Red Chi. The Red Chi emitted a blood-red shadow, and the two began to fight.

They fought fiercely, neither giving ground.

Mo Qi, gaining a moment of respite, began to try and break free from the circles.

The circles were mere illusions, yet they were as sturdy as the Vajra Ring. No matter how Mo Qi struggled, it was to no avail.

Yao Shuang also came to help Mo Qi, attempting to undo the restraints, but was powerless. The two of them began to pace anxiously.

At this moment, another Chi sped over. Seeing the Red Chi and White Chi fighting each other, he became furious. He cleaved his hand, and a beam of light descended from the sky, separating the Red Chi and White Chi from the middle.

The divine abilities of the Red Chi and White Chi struck the light beam, and their bodies were repelled, flying dozens of yards before stabilizing.

The Black Chi looked at each of them, roaring, "What are you doing? Why are you fighting each other? Have you killed all the enemies? Are you that idle? No wonder our strength makes conquering the human world so arduous. It's all because of your internal strife. How can you conquer the world with the specters like this?"
