Chapter 118 The Cold King's Vinegar Jar is Overturned

Tonight, Leng Ruoli and Leng Jinyu returned to the General's Mansion very late.

“Daddy, Li’er also has a gift for you.”

As she spoke, she took out a watch and a leather coat from her sleeve.

This leather coat was made from the tough hide of the Six-Unlike creature she had peeled off when she went into the mountains to find Leng Jinyu last time. It was designed to resemble the bulletproof vests she kept in her space. She had also soaked it in a special solution to soften it and then hand-sewed it herself. Although her needlework wasn't as good as Xing’er or Ling’er’s, her skill was sufficient to make a coat.

Leng Jinyu was a little surprised to hear his daughter say she had prepared a gift for him.

“Li’er, as long as you are well, it doesn't matter to Daddy whether I have gifts or not,” Leng Jinyu said with a smile.

Leng Jinyu’s words touched her heartstrings again, and she thought to herself, "This daddy of mine is truly wonderful."

“Daddy, let me help you put on this leather coat and see if Li’er made it to fit.”

Leng Ruoli picked up the leather coat and helped Leng Jinyu put it on.

“Ah, it fits perfectly. Daddy, no matter where you go from now on, you must wear this leather coat inside your clothes. It can protect you from swords and arrows and ensure your personal safety,” Leng Ruoli instructed.

“Alright, Daddy will listen to Li’er,” Leng Jinyu replied with a smile, urging her to rest early.

He then walked out of the Bright Moon Courtyard, holding the watch and leather coat that Leng Jinyu had given him.

Inside the system space, Leng Ruoli was busy in the laboratory when she suddenly heard a great commotion around her room. She quickly put down her work, flashed out of the system space, and hurriedly lay flat on her bed, closing her eyes as if asleep.

There were a total of eight men in black outside the door. One of them carefully used the tip of his sword to dislodge the bolt and slowly pushed open the door, walking towards Leng Ruoli’s bed. Two other men in black raised their long swords and began to hack at Leng Ruoli’s bed. They struck again and again, and the quilt was quickly torn to shreds, with cotton flying everywhere on the bed, but no blood was seen.

One of the men in black suddenly reacted and shouted, “Stop hacking, stop hacking. No one is on the bed.”

The men in black inside the room were stunned. They lifted the ripped quilt and saw that there was indeed no one there. He had been hiding in the Bright Moon Courtyard all night, observing Leng Ruoli’s movements, and had not seen her leave her room. How could she have disappeared?

The eight men in black in the room immediately became flustered.

“Heh heh, are you looking for me?” Leng Ruoli suddenly appeared outside the doorway.

“She’s there!” one of the men in black shouted.

Leng Ruoli mischievously stuck out her tongue at them, made a funny face, and then scattered a handful of poisonous powder at them.

Three of the men in black, who were slightly slower to hold their breath, immediately fainted from the poison. The remaining men in black rushed out and engaged Leng Ruoli in combat on the spot.

Leng Ruoli, holding surgical scalpels in both hands, fought against the men in black using her proficient close-combat skills.

After a few rounds, Leng Ruoli was shocked to discover that these men in black were different from those she had encountered before. Their flesh and skin were exceptionally tough, practically impervious to blades and spears, making it difficult for Leng Ruoli to cope.

In a flash, Leng Ruoli sustained several cuts. “Hiss—” she gasped in pain.

Suddenly, a figure clad in a red robe descended from the sky, holding a leaf in his hand which transformed into a sharp sword. He swept past the necks of a few people, immediately severing their throats.

Several men in black fell to the ground and died instantly.

“Oh dear, why was she so foolish?” Leng Ruoli slapped her forehead, regretting that she hadn’t even thought to find their weaknesses.

“Girl, how did you get involved with these Vajra Death Warriors?” Ming Jiuxiao asked curiously.

“Ming Jiuxiao, do you know these men in black?” Leng Ruoli asked, a little surprised.

“They are all Vajra Death Warriors from the Dark Night Pavilion.”

Ming Jiuxiao’s fingers, with their distinct bone structure, toyed with the ink-black hair that fell around his chest, and he said dismissively.

“Dark Night Pavilion, it’s the Dark Night Pavilion again. They really are never-ending.”

Leng Ruoli’s apricot eyes coldly glanced at the corpses on the ground, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in her eyes, and she said calmly.

“What’s wrong, girl? Did someone from the Dark Night Pavilion bully you? Shall I go and teach them a good lesson?”

Seeing her displeased expression, Ming Jiuxiao asked with concern.

“No need. I will avenge my own grievances.” Leng Ruoli refused decisively.

At this moment, on a phoenix tree not far away, a pair of eyes as sinister as a hawk’s narrowed slightly. From afar, they gazed at the man and woman in the Bright Moon Courtyard, fixating on that familiar, slender figure. A hint of imperceptible anger flickered in the depths of his eyes.

This damned woman, as the future Princess Consort of this Prince, dared to associate with another man in private behind his back. It was infuriating.

Unaware of the abnormality in the air, Leng Ruoli below stepped into the room.

As for Ming Jiuxiao, he had already discovered Jun Mohan and the others, but unfortunately, he had arrived a moment too late.

He looked up and met Jun Mohan’s sharp gaze. He raised an eyebrow, a smug expression appearing on his face.

“Heh heh!”

Enraged, Jun Mohan snapped a branch of the nearby phoenix tree with his hand.

He flashed down from the tree, his face as dark as ink, and walked straight into the house.

Leng Ruoli, who was busy moving the corpses out of the room, was startled by Jun Mohan’s sudden appearance behind her.

“Jun Mohan, why does your face look so grim? Did someone dig up your ancestral grave?” Leng Ruoli casually asked.

This question instantly ignited Jun Mohan’s anger.

“Who is this effeminate man?” Jun Mohan asked directly.

Leng Ruoli: …

“Who are you calling a sissy, you block of ice?” Ming Jiuxiao was also angered.

“Whoever responds, I’m talking to them!” Jun Mohan’s voice was cold and stern.

Ming Jiuxiao immediately channeled his inner energy and slapped towards Jun Mohan.

Jun Mohan dodged instantly, and the force directly overturned the potted plant Leng Ruoli had placed on the windowsill.

Angered, Leng Ruoli glared fiercely at the two of them and shouted, “If you want to fight, get out of my courtyard! Anything you break in my courtyard will be compensated at ten times the price! No matter who you are!”

Following this, the two large men sheepishly ran outside the courtyard to fight, and soon, the entire General’s Mansion was awakened.
