Chapter 75 Shared Bed, A Reaction

Su Ding froze for two seconds before her arm was grasped and she was pulled into the room by the man.

"Mm, what are you doing..."

Before she could finish speaking, Jin Ye hooked the door shut with his foot. Her body lightened, and before her mind could react, she was scooped up and placed on the bed.

Then, Jin Ye’s body pressed down on her.

Su Ding panicked completely and quickly extended her arms to block him, only to see the man grinning mischievously and blowing a breath into her ear.

"You're that afraid of me?"

Su Ding was so embarrassed she couldn't meet his gaze. The man’s heavy body pressed against her, intimately close, and the temperature in the room seemed to rise.

His arms propped up beside her face, he smiled with a gentle, wicked charm.

She took a deep breath, her voice dry and tight, "Don't do anything rash, I, I'm not ready yet."

Jin Ye looked at her deeply for several seconds and leaned in.

Su Ding instinctively closed her eyes. A light kiss landed on her forehead, and then the weight on her disappeared.

A soft quilt was pulled over her as Jin Ye got up.

Confused, she opened her eyes and saw him turn off the room light.

The room plunged into darkness. Jin Ye threw back the covers and lay down. Su Ding flinched and retreated to the far side of the bed, her heart pounding.

Thankfully, there was no light to see her blushing cheeks.

Jin Ye stretched out a long arm and pulled her from the innermost side into his embrace, pressing her face against his broad chest.

The temperature of both of them was a little high, and neither spoke.

Su Ding clenched her hands, still feeling it wasn't right. She said softly, "I still need to look after Xiao Rui..."

"She's grown up," Jin Ye interrupted her softly.

"But..." Su Ding was about to say more when the man covered her mouth with his hand.

Her soft lips were sensitive. Touching the man's warm, dry palm, both of their hearts trembled slightly.

Jin Ye's breathing became heavier.

Su Ding pulled the man's hand away, but it was grasped and tucked under the covers. She heard the man's hoarse, suppressed voice by her ear, "Don't fuss, go to sleep."

Jin Ye's hand was so hot. Su Ding pressed her ear against his chest, feeling the deafening beat of his heart.

Su Ding belatedly realized something, her face flushed. She softly replied, "Oh."

The sky outside gradually brightened, and their tightly clasped hands remained unbroken.

The night's journey had been tiring. It wasn't until noon the next day that Su Ding and Jin Ye were still in sweet slumber.

"Knock, knock, knock."

"Mommy, Daddy, wake up!"

...

After Su Xiao Rui woke up, she started looking for her mother. Seeing her mother's and Jin Ye's shoes still there, she knew they were still sleeping in.

But after knocking for a long time, no one opened the door for her.

Haughtily, she pushed the door open directly, intending to wake the two sleeping adults. But as soon as she entered, she saw the two embracing sweetly.

Jin Ye held Su Ding with his arm around her, his lips pressed against her forehead, and his hand naturally resting on her chest...

Su Ding heard the movement and opened her eyes. Her body stirred.

The next second, she saw the man's hand covering her. The unfamiliar and shy touch made her instinctively slap his hand.

Jin Ye was jolted awake, his hand feeling both painful and numb.

His face was filled with bewilderment and confusion. Seeing Su Ding glaring at him, he seemed unable to process it.

"Improper!"

Su Ding pulled out her leg that was pinned by Jin Ye, her face red as she lifted the quilt. She then saw the clearly erect part beneath Jin Ye's robe.

Her face instantly flushed crimson, and she immediately pulled the quilt back up.

She covered Jin Ye completely, leaving only his eyes and forehead exposed. Then she stepped over him and got off the bed.

"Xiao Rui, go out first."

Looking at her daughter's innocent and naive expression, Su Ding felt extremely embarrassed.

But she had to maintain composure, pretending to be calm.

Su Xiao Rui smiled playfully and waved her little hand, "I'll wait for Mommy and Daddy in the living room."

With that, she skipped out, not forgetting to close the door.

Su Ding felt even more embarrassed and annoyed, but could only turn around and look at Jin Ye, who had sat up with a frown, examining her.

"Put on your clothes once you're awake."

Su Ding glanced at the firm abdominal muscles exposed on the man's chest. She found him alluring yet hated her own weakness for always wanting to look.

Jin Ye's handsome face also showed a slight blush. He said hoarsely, "Okay."

Su Ding let out a silent sigh of relief in her heart. Only then did she go out to make breakfast.

As soon as she finished breakfast, she heard the doorbell ring. Jin Ye went to open the door and started talking to the newcomers.

Su Ding put down what she was doing and walked out.

She saw Jin Ye talking with two men carrying toolboxes, pointing at the main door. Su Xiao Rui was standing beside Jin Ye, listening curiously.

"What's wrong?"

This setup, what were they doing?

Su Ding walked over curiously. Jin Ye explained, "Changing the lock for your house. You go ahead and get busy. They'll show you how to operate it once it's installed."

Su Xiao Rui clapped her little hands, chirping excitedly, "So cool! Mommy, you'll know once it's changed!"

The little one looked excited, probably having heard how advanced the lock was just now.

Su Ding knew Jin Ye was concerned about any potential problems for her and her daughter, so he had specifically found people to change the lock. This was good, safety first.

"Then I'll trouble you. I'm going in to cook," Su Ding said with a polite smile.

"Mm." Jin Ye continued to discuss the lock issue with the workers.

Then, the family of three had lunch while the new door lock was being installed with clanging sounds at the main entrance.

After the door was installed and Su Ding understood the operating methods and safety system, she couldn't help but give a thumbs-up to the current high technology.

Having money was indeed good.

After sending the workers away, a new nanny arrived at the house, Aunt Du.

This Aunt Du was around fifty years old. She had previously served at the Jin family's old residence and then returned to her hometown to retire due to illness. This time, Jin Ye specially invited her back to take care of Xiao Rui.

Aunt Du was also a former high-achiever, so guiding Xiao Rui with her studies was no problem.

That afternoon, Jin Ye arranged for Aunt Du to look after Xiao Rui at home and contacted him and Su Ding to go to the police station.

As they sat in the car, the driver in front, Su Ding glanced at Jin Ye beside her and couldn't help but say, "Thank you for your trouble."

Jin Ye directly tapped her head, frowning displeasedly, "Are you silly? Don't be so polite to me in the future."

Su Ding didn't feel unhappy when he tapped her; instead, her heart felt sweet.

The corners of her lips curved up, and she lowered her head, "Mm."

Jin Ye naturally opened his arms and pulled her into his embrace, "We are a family. I hope you can relax in front of me."

He knew Su Ding was still reserved, and this reservation would slow down the progress of their relationship. Therefore, he had to break through this reserve.

Su Ding nodded.

Jin Ye sighed softly, gazing at the road ahead with a hint of melancholy.

Upon arriving at the police station, the police took a brief statement from Su Ding and then asked Jin Ye to come over to discuss new developments in the case.

"It's like this, we have already found out from the two suspects that someone was indeed behind the string of deliberate murders and kidnappings."

Su Ding's eyes sharpened, and she looked at the police officer, "Is it Shao Lin?"
