Chapter 70 Mom, You're Married!

Su Xiaorui remained quiet and obedient the entire time, clinging tightly to Su Ding.

Su Ding sat in the back seat holding Su Xiaorui. She gently stroked her messy hair, finally in the mood for some casual conversation.

“When did you cut your hair?” she asked Su Xiaorui, looking at her short hair.

“A few days ago. Grandma took me to get it cut.” Su Xiaorui had met Jin Ye the very day she cut her hair, but with the person in question right there, driving, she was afraid of being disliked if she mentioned it.

Su Ding gently pinched her little nose. “So good. Have a nap.”

She knew Xiaorui probably hadn’t slept well in a long time, spending all her days in a dark room. If it were an ordinary child, they wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Su Xiaorui, however, shook her head, her small eyes occasionally drifting towards the handsome man in front.

Seeing her clever and lively appearance, Su Ding felt much more relieved and smiled helplessly. “Uncle Jin Ye is Little Xi’s dad.”

“Hello, Daddy!” Su Xiaorui called out clearly.

Su Ding’s eyes widened, she almost bit her tongue and gasped.

Jin Ye in front first froze for a second, then responded with a deep, “Mm,” “Good girl.”

Su Xiaorui’s smile stretched to her ears. She quickly leaned forward and said excitedly, “Yes! Handsome Daddy, when are you marrying Mommy?”

Su Ding’s face instantly flushed crimson. She reached out and pulled her lively daughter into her arms.

Unexpectedly, Jin Ye spoke calmly, “Your mother and I are already married, we just haven’t had a wedding ceremony.”

“Jin Ye!” Su Ding exclaimed, a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.

Jin Ye glanced at her through the rearview mirror, seeing Su Ding’s flushed face and her flustered, yet speechless state, and a slight smile curved his lips.

Su Xiaorui’s mouth dropped open in surprise. “Mommy! You’re married!”

Su Ding hugged her daughter apologetically, feeling she was somewhat remiss for finding a father for her daughter without telling her.

Who knew Su Xiaorui would say with a giggle, “Mommy, you’re finally married off!”

Su Ding almost spat out a mouthful of blood. Did her daughter wish for her to be married off so badly?

Su Xiaorui turned around and hugged her tightly, her small body rolling around in the spacious back seat. “I finally have a dad! I actually have a dad, haha…”

Su Ding quickly held her daughter tighter, afraid the little one would fall.

Her initial guilt and shyness were completely enveloped by helplessness and tenderness. Her precious daughter truly wished for a father.

It was truly a twist of fate.

Jin Ye looked so much like her that no one would believe they weren’t father and daughter.

Su Ding subconsciously looked up at Jin Ye in front.

Jin Ye happened to be looking at her through the rearview mirror. Their gazes met, filled with unspoken affection and shyness.

It took about four hours to drive to the city from here. With the police clearing the way in front, the journey was smooth and unobstructed.

After a while, Su Xiaorui fell asleep, and the car became quiet.

Su Ding looked at her dirty and dusty daughter in her arms, a sense of fulfillment filling her chest. The feeling of regaining what was lost moved her.

The man driving in front was the man she liked and who liked her, her nominal husband.

In fact, the moment she saw him, she noticed the fatigue in his features. He must have been looking for her for a long time, to find her so quickly.

She had to admit, this feeling of being wholeheartedly cared for was truly heartwarming.

Without realizing it, she too leaned against the seat and fell asleep, feeling very secure.

This was the first time she had slept so soundly since Xiaorui’s incident. Perhaps it was because her daughter was by her side, or perhaps it was because Jin Ye was protecting her.

Near midnight, the car finally reached the city.

A loud honk pierced the silent night and woke Su Ding from her sleep.
