Su Ding felt like she was suffocating.
Her hands, which struggled against him, were clenched tightly. Held in his embrace, her heart pounded.
After an unknown amount of time, Jin Ye released her, his breathing uneven.
A flush spread across his handsome face, the fire in his eyes being suppressed with all his might, his breathing unable to calm.
Jin Ye held her very tightly…
As their gazes met across the air, an ambiguous and enchanting aura seemed to explode between them.
In the confined space, with their bodies pressed together, the frantic beating of their hearts was clearly audible.
Her large, tear-filled eyes, brimming with shyness and bewilderment, caused Jin Ye’s body temperature to soar, nearly to the point of losing control.
"Jin Ye!" Su Ding, snapping back to reality, pushed him away in a fit of shy indignation.
As the distance between them widened, Jin Ye's dark, deep eyes continued to fix intently on Su Ding.
Su Ding quickly hugged her chest, staring at him warily. "What, what do you want to do?"
Jin Ye stared at her for a long moment before speaking.
"What I want to tell you is about this matter."
His voice was hoarse and low, filled with a magnetic, masculine allure…
Su Ding froze in place, tense.
Jin Ye stepped forward, taking her wrist. "Is that okay?"
Su Ding was almost unable to maintain her composure, but thinking of the vast disparity in their social standings and Shao Lin's existence, she opened her mouth.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jin," she said softly and quickly, stepping back a few paces and averting her gaze.
She hadn't yet avenged the wrongs of the past, and she couldn't immerse herself in love.
Her father Shao's cold heartlessness, Wang Meilan's sharp and cruel words, and Shao Lin's frames and insults – she wouldn't forget any of it!
Jin Ye frowned, the atmosphere around him dropping a few degrees. "Why? Don't you like Xiao Xi?"
"No," Su Ding bit her lip.
"Then why? Give me an answer," Jin Ye asked deeply.
This was the first time he had been moved in so many years.
He couldn't understand why Su Ding would refuse him. It couldn't be about the child, nor their backgrounds. What could it be?
Su Ding took a deep breath. "Mr. Jin, if there's nothing else, I think I should be going back early."
Jin Ye remained silent for a few seconds, then turned his back to her.
Watching his tall but lonely figure, Su Ding felt a trace of reluctance in her heart, yet she still pushed open the door and left.
As Jin Ye heard the door close, he clenched his fists tightly.
Perhaps he had been too forward just now and had scared her. It wasn't that easy to pursue a woman.
After Su Ding left, she first called her agent. Xiao Yuan, in a jubilant tone, told her that her schedule for the next year was completely full.
TV dramas, movies, and variety shows were all arranged, and she would be playing the lead roles in all of them!
Su Ding gave a bitter smile.
After rejecting Jin Ye, perhaps these enviable opportunities would disappear before they even began…
Just then, a voice suddenly called from behind her, "Su Ding!"
Startled, Su Ding turned around and saw Xue Zhi Qiao standing behind her, smiling at her.
"What a coincidence, I finally caught you!" Xue Zhi Qiao tapped her head.
"Why are you here?" Su Ding asked in confusion, wondering how this person was so omnipresent.
"I came to discuss a contract with your company. Now that it's done, why not seize the day? Let's go for a meal first? I haven't even had lunch yet." Xue Zhi Qiao naturally walked alongside her.
"That's fine," Su Ding then remembered she hadn't had lunch, and Jin Ye probably hadn't either.
He had accompanied her to the hospital, and after returning, he went to handle business matters.
The boss was truly busy.
She suddenly paused, wondering why she would inexplicably think about whether Jin Ye had eaten.
She quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss the thought.
