Chapter 22 Achieving the Little Secret

Su Xiaorui stopped her car abruptly, standing at the doorway with the same expression of surprise.

Seeing the looks on the two children's faces, Su Ding naturally knew what they were surprised about. After all, she herself had been startled when she first saw Jin Xiaoxi.

She smiled and beckoned them inside, "Xiaorui, hurry and show your brother around the house."

Su Xiaorui looked at the brother who resembled her so much, feeling a bit perplexed. However, upon hearing her mother's words, she quickly put the thought aside.

She enthusiastically stepped forward and took Jin Xiaoxi's hand, "Little brother, are you Mommy's friend? Welcome to my home."

Jin Xiaoxi rarely interacted with people, neither adults nor children.

Suddenly being held by Xiaorui's small, chubby hands, he didn't feel repulsed. Instead, he found this little sister to be quite cute.

He blushed slightly and even offered a formal bow, "Excuse my intrusion."

Su Ding chuckled and asked the two children to sit on the sofa in the living room while she went to get some snacks.

On the sofa, Su Xiaorui, unafraid, moved closer to Jin Xiaoxi and sat down. She blinked her big eyes, "Little brother, what's your name?"

Jin Xiaoxi quickly introduced himself, "Hello, Sister Xiaorui, my name is Jin Xiaoxi."

Su Xiaorui giggled, her small dimples appearing shallowly, making her look particularly lively and adorable. She leaned her face closer to Jin Xiaoxi's and said earnestly, "Brother Xiaoxi, you look so much like me."

Jin Xiaoxi looked at her in the same way, feeling a little strange.

He quite liked the aunt, and her child looking so much like him was a strange coincidence.

He also nodded, "Yes, I think we look very alike."

After speaking, the two children faced each other and began to stare. To be able to see a face so similar to one's own at such close proximity was a wondrous thing.

It was as if they were looking into a mirror.

Jin Xiaoxi, being naturally observant, gradually noticed some differences between them, specifically their eyes and noses.

He had always thought he looked very much like his father, almost identical. Now, he realized he was wrong. This little Sister Xiaorui in front of him resembled their father even more.

Especially their eyes and noses, they were exactly the same.

He became even more curious. Could this Sister Xiaorui be his father's child?

At that moment, Su Ding arrived with a fruit platter and a pile of snacks, smiling. "Alright, alright, stop staring. Come and eat."

Su Xiaorui's attention was immediately diverted. She picked up a bag of chips and offered it to Xiaoxi, "Brother Xiaoxi, try this flavor. I really love it."

Jin Xiaoxi nodded and accepted it, "Thank you."

Su Xiaorui gave him another sweet smile, and Jin Xiaoxi became even more perplexed. Why did they look so alike?

Su Ding watched the two children, who bore such striking resemblances, with a mixture of sweet happiness and some apprehension.

If she had given birth to twins, why was one child missing?

If Xiaorui was indeed Jin Ye's child, given Jin Ye's family background and status, he would never allow his bloodline to be scattered. How could she protect her children?

Thinking this, her expression grew solemn. Until their relationship was clarified, she absolutely could not let Jin Ye see Xiaorui, or it would cause a great upheaval!

Su Ding turned to Xiaoxi and said seriously, "Xiaoxi, can you promise Auntie a favor?"

Seeing Su Ding's earnest expression, Jin Xiaoxi quickly nodded, "Just tell me, Auntie."

Su Ding reached out and stroked his hair, leaning in to whisper in his ear, "Don't tell your Daddy that Xiaorui looks like you, okay?"

Jin Xiaoxi looked at her with a hint of confusion.

Su Ding explained softly, "There are some things Auntie can't tell you right now, but believe Auntie, I have no ill intentions."

Jin Xiaoxi hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded, "Okay, Auntie, I won't say anything."

Su Ding smiled, "That's good, Xiaoxi is such a well-behaved boy."

Su Xiaorui curiously leaned her face over, her big eyes full of questions, "Mommy, what are you whispering to brother?"

Su Ding chuckled, "I'm telling him how cute you are."

Su Xiaorui, proud of her own cuteness, beamed at the compliment, her smile widening.

Su Ding played games with the two children, chatting and laughing, and time flew by. It was almost nine o'clock.

She picked up the boisterous Su Xiaorui, "Be good, Xiaorui. Mommy needs to take Brother Xiaoxi back home. You wait for Mommy at home, okay?"

Su Xiaorui nodded obediently and bid them farewell.

As Su Ding led Jin Xiaoxi to the entrance of the residential complex, she saw a familiar Rolls-Royce parked there.

Her impression of Mr. Jin improved a little.

As a father, Jin Ye was a decent one. He loved his children, even if he wasn't good at expressing it.

Jin Ye saw them emerging from the car window and got out of the vehicle.

Jin Xiaoxi called out from afar, "Daddy!"

A faint curve lifted the corners of Jin Ye's lips. He walked forward, took his son's hand, and looked at Su Ding behind them.

Su Ding asked, "Mr. Jin, have you been waiting here all along?"

Jin Ye did not want to answer that question. Instead, he politely thanked her, "Miss Su, thank you for looking after Xiaoxi today."

Su Ding blinked, then shook her head, "No, Xiaoxi is very cute, it wasn't any trouble at all."

Jin Ye nodded slightly and said gravely, "Then we'll be leaving. Goodbye."

Jin Xiaoxi also waved his hand, "Goodbye, Auntie."

Su Ding smiled and bid them farewell. She watched the car disappear from view before turning to leave.

In the darkness of the night, she lowered her head and looked at the short strand of hair in her hand. A flicker of contemplation crossed her eyes.
