"Captain Da, Captain Xiao."
Zhao Yang met them, greeting A'Da and A'Xiao.
But the address...
Su Ding couldn't help but chuckle, and even Jin Ye's lips twitched slightly.
Zhao Yang heard the movement behind him and quickly signaled to them, his expression exceptionally vivid, as if to say – Don't mess around, be serious!
A'Da nodded at him, "Yes, thank you for your hard work, Zhao Yang."
He then walked towards Su Ding and them with A'Xiao.
Zhao Yang was bewildered. He turned his head and saw Su Ding and them being noticed. He quickly explained: "Captain Da, Captain Xiao, they are here to sell special supplies to the Fortress Lord."
"Oh."
A'Da nodded, then turned to Su Ding and Jin Ye, respectfully calling out, "Miss, Young Master-in-law."
Su Ding smiled with her eyes curved, "A'Da, A'Xiao, long time no see."
Jin Ye also nodded to the two of them.
A'Da and A'Xiao immediately smiled, their words tinged with excitement, "It's great that you're alright. The Fortress Lord is waiting inside, hurry and come in with me."
Zhao Yang looked at their familiar demeanor and was utterly confused.
What Miss, Young Master-in-law?
The Captain Da and Captain Xiao knew them? The Fortress Lord was waiting for them?
"You, you..." Zhao Yang looked at them blankly, "Do you know each other?"
"I'll tell you,"
A'Xiao walked over, patted Zhao Yang's shoulder, and said, "This is our Fortress Lord's granddaughter, Miss Su Ding; and this is her husband, Mr. Jin Ye."
A'Da added, "Zhao Yang, you've made a great contribution this time. You can go down first. We'll give you a satisfactory reward when we're done."
"Yes!"
Zhao Yang glanced at Su Ding, then at Jin Ye, feeling an indescribable emotion in his heart.
So they were a couple!
He hadn't expected them to be relatives of the Fortress Lord. Alas, what a situation.
Thinking about how he wanted to hit on Su Ding on the road, he now felt a chill of fear, especially concerning Jin Ye...
If they reported this to the Captain Da and Captain Xiao, he'd be lucky to avoid punishment, let alone get a reward!
"A'Da, A'Xiao."
Jin Ye suddenly spoke, which gave Zhao Yang a sense of unease.
A'Da and A'Xiao respectfully said, "Young Master-in-law, what are your orders?"
"Zhao Yang took good care of us on the way. After promoting and raising his salary, introduce him to a few girls."
Jin Ye said calmly. His stern face saying such words felt strangely incongruous.
Su Ding curved her lips, "Brother Zhao Yang, thank you for your care along the way."
Zhao Yang repeatedly waved his hands, "N-no need to be polite, Miss. Young Master-in-law."
As they left, he still secretly glanced at Jin Ye. He hadn't expected this man to be a true gentleman and not deliberately harm him.
But as for introducing him to a wife...
This Young Master-in-law was definitely doing it on purpose!
Afterward, A'Da and A'Xiao led Su Ding and Jin Ye to the main fortress.
The tall and magnificent castle stood before them. Su Ding looked up, unable to help but praise its grandeur.
Jin Ye was no exception.
He even felt as if he had arrived at a medieval palace. No wonder Ouyang Kai called Su Ding his little princess.
Upon entering the main gate, several maids and bodyguards were waiting at the entrance, all exclaiming in unison:
"Welcome, Miss and Young Master-in-law."
Su Ding continued inside, where the hall was a blend of modern and classical.
A'Da led them towards a side elevator, "The Fortress Lord is on the 22nd floor, let's go up."
As the elevator ascended floor by floor, Su Ding's heart grew more and more nervous.
Ding
The elevator stopped. Jin Ye held Su Ding's hand, and under the guidance of A'Da and A'Xiao, they stepped out.
Outside was a vast, open-air venue on the top floor.
An old man in a black robe with snow-white hair sat under a pavilion, gazing at Su Ding from afar.
His expression was calm, lacking the excitement and warmth that A'Da and A'Xiao had described. Even his tranquil eyes seemed undisturbed... xxs壹贰
In a daze, Su Ding even felt.
That Grandpa was looking through her, reminiscing about her mother in the past. This feeling gave her an indescribable ache in her chest.
"Come here."
The old man said in a hoarse voice, beckoning them.
Su Ding took a deep breath and walked forward step by step. The nervousness she had felt earlier surged within her.
