Chapter 390 The Foot is Truly Mean

Su Ding drove aimlessly along the road.

For some reason, she felt an unspeakable sadness and pessimism, perhaps it was the sight of the pregnant Shao Lin that stirred her emotions.

Even though Shao Lin's baby wasn't Jin Ye's, she now had a child of her own.

And what about herself?

She had longed for it so much, endured so much pain, only for the child to be gone on the day of delivery.

Their first child, hers and Jin Ye's.

"Mommy is sorry, my baby," Su Ding whispered silently, turning her head and stopping the car.

She walked along the outer road of the park, looking at the lush flowers and grass by the roadside, allowing her mood to gradually calm down, constantly reminding herself that life had to move forward.

After an unknown amount of time, the sky began to darken. Just as she was about to head home, a voice suddenly rang out ahead!

"Ding Ding?!"

The voice was somewhat familiar, filled with surprise.

Su Ding watched as the girl ran towards her, wearing a playful goose-yellow short skirt, her chestnut hair a little shorter, radiating youthfulness.

A smile of pleasant surprise also appeared on her face, "Jia'er."

"It really is you, Ding Ding, I thought I was seeing things." Xin Jia'er was still as enthusiastic as ever, immediately linking her arm with Su Ding's, "When did you get back? You didn't even tell me, humph."

As she spoke, she pouted her small face in mock annoyance.

Su Ding smiled. Xin Jia'er was like a little sun, and talking to her greatly improved her mood.

"I just got back yesterday afternoon, and I was planning to contact you these next few days. I didn't expect to run into you here," she said with a smile, "Why are you here?"

Xin Jia'er took a breath upon hearing Su Ding's question and exhaled heavily, "I was feeling a bit bothered, so I skipped work to clear my head. What about you, Ding Ding, why are you here?"

Su Ding had been driving without a destination and had inadvertently driven near Xin Jia'er's company.

She explained, "I was bored at home, so I came out for a walk."

Xin Jia'er seemed to recall something and became a little uneasy. She wanted to ask something but feared it might be inappropriate.

Su Ding, being perceptive of others' thoughts, smiled and said, "He and I have made up."

"Made up..."

Xin Jia'er's mouth opened slightly, sounding both helpless and like she felt Su Ding deserved better.

After a moment's thought, she pulled Su Ding along, "It's getting late. Let me treat you to dinner. We haven't seen each other in ages, let's chat."

Su Ding hesitated for a moment. She still remembered what Xie Shanshan had said that morning and wanted to avoid appearing in crowded places as much as possible.

However, Xin Jia'er had helped her a lot back then, and it was time to have a proper meal together.

"You know the impact of that incident... Let's find a restaurant with good privacy for our meal," Su Ding said softly.

"Mm-hmm."

Xin Jia'er gently patted her hand in understanding and suggested, "I know a good restaurant nearby that's very private. That guy brought me here to eat before."

Su Ding knew who Xin Jia'er was referring to as "that guy" and smiled ambiguously.

"Okay, let's go to the restaurant that guy recommended."

Xin Jia'er's face immediately flushed. She bit her lip and pulled Su Ding forward, "Let's go."

The two walked for about two kilometers.

They arrived at a restaurant that looked rather inconspicuous from the outside, but its understated sense of luxury was evident.

Pushing open the outer door revealed a lobby.

There were four security guards at the entrance who needed to verify identities. Most of the guests wore glasses and masks, giving a quiet and luxurious impression.

Seeing this, Su Ding knew this was a place where celebrities and public figures usually dined.

Ordinary people simply couldn't get in.

"Let's go in."

Xin Jia'er registered at the front desk and then came over to pull Su Ding inside.

A waiter led the way, and as they followed, Xin Jia'er suddenly stumbled as if tripped, and the whole person lunged forward. Su Ding, with quick reflexes, grabbed her.

Otherwise, Xin Jia'er would have fallen directly to the ground and been stared at by everyone.

At the moment she was pulling Xin Jia'er, Su Ding's eyes caught sight of a woman's foot wearing high heels and painted with red nail polish, about to retract.

It was clearly deliberate!

The table leg was some distance away, yet this woman's foot deliberately extended out.

Su Ding sneered inwardly and, seizing the opportunity, stomped down hard on that foot!
