Chapter 373 Receiving Xiao Rui

After flying for about four hours, they finally arrived in Jiang City.

The captain had already arranged for their landing spot. They landed slowly in a large square in the suburbs of Jiang City, and a car was waiting for them when they disembarked.

"Let's go pick up Xiao Rui first," Su Ding said, a little excited.

"Yes, that's what I was thinking too."

Jin Ye nodded, also missing his daughter, whom he hadn't seen in months.

Jin Xiaoxi woke up from his sleep. Although he was still a bit down, he felt a surge of emotion when he heard they were going to pick up his sister.

After the three of them got into the car, they headed straight for Xixiang Village.

Although it was already afternoon, they had eaten on the plane, so they weren't hungry.

Suddenly, Jin Ye's phone rang.

Su Ding took out his phone for him and looked at the caller ID. "It's your dad. He's probably asking if we've arrived."

After connecting the call.

"Xiao Ye, have you arrived?"

"Just got off the plane. We're going home first and will head to the Jin residence tonight." Jin Ye didn't elaborate on Xiao Rui's matter.

"Okay, that's fine. Your mom went out yesterday and came back late, so let her sleep in."

"Alright," Jin Ye replied.

"Bring Su Ding and the two little ones back to see us when you get here. Let's have a reunion dinner."

Jin Ye looked at Su Ding. Just as Su Ding was about to nod, a voice suddenly came from the other end of the phone.

"What reunion? Don't bring the illegitimate child home. I just want my son and grandson back." It was Zhao Qin's voice, and her tone was extremely cold.

Su Ding's expression suddenly darkened. She had been tormented by this mother-in-law many times before.

She had completely given up on trying to mend their relationship. Since she didn't agree, she would absolutely not try to please her anymore.

Seeing Su Ding's expression, Jin Ye said directly, "I'll be home later. I'm driving."

After hanging up the phone, the atmosphere in the car became somewhat somber.

Jin Xiaoxi could sense the emotions of the two adults. He couldn't understand why Grandma didn't like Mom.

Mom was such a gentle and kind person.

"Mom and Dad, are we almost there?" Jin Xiaoxi changed the subject.

"Yes, we'll turn at the road ahead, and we'll be in Xixiang Village," Su Ding said softly, adjusting her mood.

Jin Ye's expression was unreadable, but his deep eyes stared ahead, as if lost in thought.

He placed his hand over Su Ding's, squeezing it.

Though silent, it conveyed an invisible strength, telling her of his love.

The slight displeasure in Su Ding's heart vanished instantly. She squeezed his hand back and smiled warmly.

The car entered the village.

It had rained last night, and the road was uneven and bumpy.

Jin Xiaoxi looked at the obviously rudimentary village houses and mountain roads, feeling a little worried. "Mom, why did you leave Xiao Rui here?"

Su Ding felt a pang of sadness too. She had no other choice when she was desperate. To prevent Shao Lin from targeting Xiao Rui further, she had to hide her in a place no one knew.

She took a deep breath and said, "Being here is a completely different kind of fun than being in the city."

"Oh." Jin Xiaoxi could see Su Ding's emotions and didn't ask any further questions.

Soon, the car arrived in front of Xu Xiufen's house.

Su Xiaorui, who had been tidied up inside the house, heard the car and ran out excitedly, like a gust of wind.

Jin Ye and Su Ding got out of the car.

Su Xiaorui looked at her familiar parents, her joy and excitement almost uncontrollable. She screamed, "Mom and Dad!"

As she spoke, she rushed towards them.

Su Ding looked at her daughter, whom she hadn't seen in a long time, and tears almost welled up as she moved forward to meet her.

She had grown quite a bit taller, and her momentum almost sent Su Ding staggering backward. Fortunately, Jin Ye supported her from behind.

"Wuuu, Mom, you're finally here to pick me up. I missed you so much!"

Su Xiaorui buried herself in Su Ding's arms, unable to contain her longing any longer, and burst into tears.
