Chapter 894: Chapter 894: Citywide Manhunt
Repair shop.
A Black Mercenary holding a pistol coldly smiled at the injured person on the ground and pulled the trigger directly.
Bam.
And then the world fell silent.
The Black Mercenary glanced at the battle situation, only sporadic gunfire remained, and he walked straight to a refrigerator in the corner, opened it, and took out a can of beer.
He opened the beer, took a big gulp, turned around, and walked to the sofa area, kicking the corpse on the sofa aside before sitting down heavily.
After a while.
The gunfire in the repair shop ceased.
"Sammy, we’ve caught a few alive."
Several Mercenaries from Company K brought in some captured prisoners, pressing them to the ground. Sammy glanced over and started speaking in English.
"Who is your master, and where is he now?"
"If anyone knows, tell me, and I’ll spare his miserable life."
One captured prisoner raised his head and spat at Sammy: "Allah will avenge us."
Sammy sneered, too lazy to speak further, aimed at the prisoner who spat at him, and pulled the trigger. Blood splattered instantly.
Sammy turned to the next one.
Without waiting for the other to speak, he ruthlessly sent him to meet Allah. Sammy turned his gaze to the next person again.
"I know nothing!"
"If you know nothing, then why are you talking?"
Sammy coldly shot again, and this method of shooting without a word caused the last person to crumble under the pressure.
"I’ll talk, I’ll talk."
"We are armed forces of the Issa family. Our master is the eldest daughter of the Issa family, currently the number two figure, just after Osad."
"The eldest daughter doesn’t live with us, and only Anthony knows her whereabouts, but Anthony left after receiving a call from the eldest daughter. It seems he’s gone to pick her up."
"Oh!"
"Will they come back?"
"This...!"
The prisoner hesitated, as he didn’t know either.
"What car are you driving, and what’s the license plate number? This you should know, right?"
The prisoner nodded.
"If I tell you, will you really let me go?"
"Heh, you’re in no position to bargain with me. Either talk or die."
The prisoner looked up at him and gritted his teeth before revealing a few license plates.
"Release him!"
Sammy leaned back on the sofa and instructed his men. The prisoner was released, scrambled to his feet, and ran, but just as he was about to leave the repair shop, a gunshot sounded from behind.
Thud.
Sammy blew the gun’s muzzle and coldly rose: "Track this series of license plates. Find them."
"Yes."
The mercenaries under Sammy dared not slack off, as Sammy was known as the Black Devil, a butcher with thousands of lives in his hands, most of which were ordinary people.
Company K was merely a visitor in this city, but the Oppenheimer family behind it had extensive connections in the city.
Soon, the three cars belonging to Annie’s group became targeted vehicles of the police.
"Miss, it seems the police have set their sights on us."
Anthony noticed the police cars on their tail and sensed something was off.
"Find a way to get out of here."
Annie remained calm, though her home base had been destroyed, clearly a move by Owen. The Oppenheimer family held no small sway across Southern Federation nations, making it easy to mobilize some police.
Her immediate priority was to escape the city.
"Understood!"
Anthony nodded and spoke into the Bluetooth headset: "Deal with the tail behind us."
The rear window of the trailing car opened, a weapon emerged, and a tongue of fire spewed out, shell casings raining down on the street.
The windshield of the trailing police car shattered into a sieve, slamming into a roadside lamppost.
This kind of chase and gunfight was usually seen only in films, but today it played out in real life in this city.
The gunfire also drew more police cars into the chase, with more joining the blockade continuously.
Within the city, the sound of sirens blared.
The chase grew even fiercer.
At a junction ahead, police set up barricades, sealing off the road. A car in front barely had time to react before it was peppered by a storm of bullets.
The driver was shot dead, the steering wheel turned, and the car crashed onto the sidewalk, plowing into a café.
"Turn, quick...!"
Anthony shouted to turn, but just then, from a side street, a car rammed into them head-on.
Bam.
Annie’s car had one side of the front crushed into a dent, the body spinning with the brute force of the collision, throwing Annie inside into disarray, her head buzzing.
The Mercenary from Company K inside the big G opened the car door, got out with a weapon, and fired a burst at Annie’s vehicle, but fortunately, Annie’s car wasn’t ordinary — it was bulletproof.
The bullets couldn’t penetrate.
"Bulletproof car!"
Seeing the car’s body was not penetrated, Sammy knew it was bulletproof, sneered, and walked to the rear door, retrieving a box.
The next second, Sammy pulled out a shoulder-mounted Poison Stinger.
He aimed directly at the bulletproof car and pulled the trigger. A long tongue of fire spewed out, and the Poison Stinger hit the bottom of the bulletproof car. The vehicle rose in the violent explosion.
The bulletproof car, pummeled to such an extent, couldn’t remain intact. The door was half-broken, and Sammy gave a cold, vicious smile, walking towards the crashed bulletproof car with a weapon.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Anthony’s body was blurry with blood and flesh, but he wasn’t dead yet. Suddenly, he raised his gun and aimed at Sammy.
Bam.
The shot hit Sammy in the chest, causing him to pause, but he returned fire, shooting him in the head.
Sammy patted his chest; he was wearing a bulletproof vest. The handgun bullet could do no more than bruise him.
He stepped towards the wrecked bulletproof car, pulled open the door with both hands, and as he leaned down, a pair of long legs kicked out like a rabbit kicking an eagle.
Caught off guard, Sammy staggered back a couple of steps, looking up at Annie emerging from the car, unconsciously licking his lips.
He recognized this woman, the goddess that Owen pursued.
He had to admit, she was indeed a woman worth going crazy for.
Annie saw the lecherous look in Sammy’s eyes, knowing the terrible fate awaiting her in his hands, she forced herself to withstand the discomfort and executed a spinning side kick.
Sammy raised a hand to block, and Annie’s full-force strike felt like kicking a wall. Sammy’s thick arm was like an elephant’s leg, his sturdy body unfazed.
"Heh!"
Sammy caught Annie’s leg with a backhand.
