Chapter 933: Chapter 933: Crushing You Was Just an Afterthought
Huaxi Old Campus.
Zhang Shan and Fu Yibo were chatting jovially with some leaders from higher up in the office when a staff member knocked on the door and entered with a look of urgency.
"Principal Zhang, could you step out for a moment?"
Fu Yibo frowned, glanced at the staff member who had entered, and nodded. Zhang Shan stood up with a smile, "Leaders, I’ll go check the ceremony arrangements and then we’ll go together."
"Alright, go ahead."
Zhang Shan walked out of the office into the corridor, his face immediately turning somber, "Didn’t you see I was with the leaders? Have some sense."
The staff member was rebuked into silence, and Zhang Shan grunted, "What’s going on that’s so urgent and flustered?"
Only then did the staff member speak, "Principal Zhang, there’s a problem with the school ceremony!"
"A problem? What kind of problem?"
Hearing there was an issue with the school ceremony, Zhang Shan immediately grew nervous and grabbed the collar of the other person. The staff member, startled, stammered, "People, people have left."
"People have left? Who left? Make it clear to me."
"The media, and the people sent by HY have left, and most of the students have also left."
"What did you say?"
Zhang Shan widened his eyes at the staff member, "Where did the people go?"
"To the new campus."
"Explain to me clearly why people left. When I checked earlier, everything was fine, and weren’t the artists from HY already there...."
Unable to stay calm, Zhang Shan was anxious. He had been preparing for this school ceremony for half a year to make a comeback, and everything had been fine an hour or two ago. It had just taken a short while without supervision for such a big issue to emerge.
The staff member swallowed, "Mainly because the new campus pulled out all the stops."
"Hmm?"
"Before the new campus started, they set off fireworks continuously, and that’s not all. They also invited numerous guest performers who are even more famous than the people sent by HY."
"How is that possible? The people HY sent this time are not lacking in fame, especially with Xia Peng, this trending young idol."
"But the new campus brought in King of Heaven Huang, Song Queen Zhou Ziyun, and also Sweet Little Bettini."
"What, Sweet Little?"
"Yes, mega-star Sweet Little Bettini, known as the Century Song Queen."
"Besides, many big stars attended, way outclassing our roster here."
While they did have artists sent by HY, most were trainees with little fame, and some hadn’t even debuted. HY completely treated this performance as an internal company debut.
If Li Feng hadn’t put on this kind of competition, this approach would have been completely fine. After all, however mediocre HY’s artists were, they were far beyond comparison to any students the school could bring out.
In the end, it might have been mutually beneficial.
But with Li Feng coming up with such impressive cards, without contrast, there is no harm.
The staff member gulped, "So those media people directly headed to the new campus, and then those students and teachers heard about it and started slipping out, it wasn’t much at the start, but then more and more people left."
"Even the prominent artists from HY heard about it and left directly, saying they didn’t want to lose face. Now, only some unknown trainees haven’t moved."
"Why didn’t you stop them then?"
Zhang Shan looked at the other person fiercely.
"How could I stop them?"
"Then why didn’t you call me?"
"I did, but you never answered."
Zhang Shan pushed the staff aside, walked quickly down the corridor, and rushed down the stairs to the school’s auditorium. Earlier, when he inspected, while the auditorium might not have been overcrowded, it was almost fully packed, and many couldn’t even find a place. But when he walked in to look now.
The auditorium, which held over two thousand people, was more than ten percent empty, hardly any students were left, and not many teachers either, just some staff who looked bewildered.
"Principal Zhang, are we still going to hold the ceremony?"
A responsible teacher came over and looked at Zhang Shan.
"Hold it, with no one left, how do we do that?"
Zhang Shan’s face was ashen, full of gloom. With no one left, how could the event possibly go on? He knew he was in deep trouble now.
If it were only people from within the school, it could be overlooked, but the problem was there were higher-level leaders in the office. Were they supposed to see this mess?
Plus, with the performance time approaching, there was no way for him to remedy the situation now.
Impossible.
If it goes on like this, he’s done for.
Xu Bing, it was all Xu’s doing behind the scenes. He needed to explain the situation to the principal.
Zhang Shan suddenly turned and ran out of the auditorium to return to the meeting room, only to find it empty.
"Where is everyone?"
Zhang Shan turned around and called a staff member from the corridor.
"Oh, Principal Fu took them to the ceremony site."
"What!"
Zhang Shan heard the news, as if struck by lightning, almost sat down on the ground, but caught himself by holding onto the wall.
"No, I just came back from the auditorium, didn’t see the principal’s group."
"I don’t know about that; maybe Principal Zhang should call to ask the principal?"
Zhang Shan hurriedly called Fu Yibo, but it was hung up, leaving Zhang Shan’s face the color of ashes. Did something go wrong?
As his mind raced with wild thoughts, a text message arrived.
"Come to the new campus, other matters can be discussed later."
Seeing this message, Zhang Shan felt a mix of emotions but still left the school gate. He was in no position to challenge things now; he needed to figure out how to keep his current position.
New Campus Site.
Due to the continuous arrival of artists, coupled with large numbers of students, teachers, and nearby residents coming over, the show’s scheduled start at eight had to be pushed back.
But the site didn’t become chaotic because of the masses arriving. Li Feng had anticipated this situation and had Wang Qian enlist a large number of bodyguards to maintain order early on.
When Zhang Shan arrived at the new campus site, he saw a sea of people, heads bobbing everywhere, and fireworks still lighting up the sky.
After much effort, when Zhang Shan finally found Fu Yibo’s group, he also saw Li Feng with Xu Bing.
"Did you do all this?"
Seeing Li Feng approaching, Zhang Shan stepped forward to question him directly.
"I did it, so what?"
Li Feng squinted back at him.
"Just because I kicked Zhou Zhishan off the program list, you made this entire commotion to get back at me?"
Zhang Shan glared at Li Feng.
Li Feng looked at Zhang Shan, a hint of disdain on his lips.
"Principal Zhang, it seems you hold yourself in too high regard. In my eyes, you’re only an ant. Yes, I did it for Zhou Zhishan, but stepping on you was just incidental."
"You’re the one who’s encroached, so you have only yourself to blame."
"I offered you a choice!"
