Chapter 39: Announcing His Ambition

Chapter 39: Announcing His Ambition

December 10th, 2024.

With the creation of the TG Enterprise, Timothy finally had his own shell company where he had received the eight billion dollars from NVIDIA after signing the contract. But he didn’t get the full eight billion dollars. The reason, there are processing fees associated with holding a shell account. But it was a measly sum, like 50,000 dollars.

So in total, his remaining balance in that shell company was 7,999,950,000. As for his BDO account, he has 42,560,000 million pesos or about 750,000 USD, most of which came from his buy and sell business where he still had been doing.

For his reconstruction, he has 75 reconstruction available.

As for today, it was his final exams week, and using the reconstructed mentos to a nootropic pill, he aced all the exams.

At the end of the class, he alongside Tiffany at the hallway heading towards the exit.

"Thank you for tutoring me, Timothy," Tiffany said with a warm voice. "If not for you, it would be hard for me to pass the exams."

"Don’t think about it, Tiffany, you did good yourself," Timothy replied, casting a side glance at her.

"So it’s Christmas break now, what are you going to do?"

"Uhm...I plan on dropping out and then focus on business," Timothy revealed.

"What..." Tiffany stopped in her tracks and then looked at him with wide-eyes.

Timothy, who was still walking, noticed she wasn’t by his side anymore and was behind him. He paused in his tracks too and walked over to her.

"What do you mean you are dropping out?" Tiffany asked, looking him in the eye.

"It’s simple, I am going to start my own business and focus solely on it."

"With what? Your second hand car dealership? I admit your business was booming but surely your life wouldn’t just be about flipping cars right?"

Tiffany’s words trailed, her brows furrowed in disbelief. The hallway around them was alive with chatter, students pouring out of classrooms, some laughing, some groaning about exams. But in that moment, it felt like the two of them were standing in their own pocket of silence.

"You need a degree and a diploma to secure your future," Tiffany pressed, her tone firm now. "What if your business doesn’t work out? What if the market changes? At least if you finish school, you’ll always have something to fall back on."

Timothy watched her, lips pressed in a thin line. He admired her sincerity. Tiffany wasn’t mocking him, wasn’t doubting him out of spite, she was genuinely worried. But if only she knew. If only she understood that the numbers in his offshore account made the idea of a diploma look like a paper shield compared to the arsenal he had now.

"I’ve thought about it," Timothy said, steadying his voice. "And this... this will be my last semester."

Her eyes widened again. "You’re serious?"

"I am."

Tiffany exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair in frustration. "Timothy, you’re one of the smartest people I know. You don’t even struggle with exams! You could graduate top of the class if you wanted to. Why throw it away?"

He gave a faint smile, though there was no humor in it. "Because I don’t need it anymore."

She blinked, confusion flashing across her face. "What does that even mean?"

Timothy looked past her for a second, watching a group of engineering majors hauling rolled blueprints down the stairs, then met her gaze again.

"It means I’ve already decided. School’s not where my future is. Business is."

Tiffany’s expression softened, but her voice was still insistent. "At least think it over during the break. Don’t just... end it like this. You’ll regret it."

Timothy placed his hands on the side of her shoulders. "I’ll be fine, Tiffany,"

She searched his eyes, as if hoping to find even the smallest crack in his certainty. But there was none.

For a moment, Tiffany felt as if she were speaking to a man who had already stepped far beyond the classroom walls, someone who had already built a future she couldn’t yet see.

"You always say that," she whispered, her voice quieter now, edged with worry. "But this is different. Dropping out... it’s not something you can undo easily."

Timothy gave a faint smile, not mocking, but almost wistful. "Maybe. But I know where I’m headed. A diploma won’t change that. Besides, we are still going to see each other."

"But you won’t be able to tutor me anymore...not that we are in the same class..."

"You aren’t sure about that," Timothy chuckled. "Now I’m heading back home. I have a meeting with one of the real-estate agents that I inquired about."

"Real-estate?" Tiffany repeated.

"Oh, I’m buying a condo unit for my mother. It’s time that we move out from Tondo."

"Condo unit?!" Tiffany repeated again. She knew condominiums were expensive—far from the kind of thing an ordinary businessman.

Timothy nodded, as if he had just told her he was picking up groceries. "Yeah. I’ve already looked at a few places, but I think I’ll settle for One Serendra Residences in BGC."

Her jaw slackened. "One Serendra? You’re kidding, right? That’s... that’s one of the most high-end condos in Taguig! Do you even know how much a unit costs there? I live there!"

Timothy smiled faintly, sliding his hands into his pockets. "I know. But it’s worth it. My mom deserves better than Tondo. She’s put up with enough all these years, it’s about time I give her something decent. And it’s good since you guys will be neighbors. My mom is a good cook, you will be able to taste it once they are there."

Tiffany sighed. She still did not comprehend the changes Timothy had. In their first meeting, he was just this ordinary student with ordinary capability. But there was a sudden change in him, and now he was buying a condo unit in the same condo she was living in. It’s so mysterious.

"Then can I come with you?" Tiffany said.

"What?"

"I’m coming with you, I want to see the unit where your mom and little sister will live. My driver is coming anyway so I’ll give you a ride."

Timothy chuckled at the thought. "But I already have a car parked."

"The second-hand ford raptor? Isn’t that for sale?"

"Yeah but I’m using it for now for personal purposes..." Timothy didn’t continue his words as she saw Tiffany giving her the look of he doesn’t have a choice.

Timothy raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright. I’ll ride with you then."

"Great."
