Chapter 64: Chapter 64 Was that really him?

Meanwhile...

Leonardo, the man known for his cold reputation, who didn’t even use WhatsApp properly, finally gave in and created a social media account. Of course, it was a private account with no name, no profile picture, and no posts–just something to observe the world he usually stayed away from.

After making the account, he went straight to Jay’s profile. It was unlocked, obviously. Jay always wanted attention.

One folder stood out immediately.

"Couple Goals."

Leonardo raised an eyebrow and clicked it.

The first video loaded: Isabella asleep in the car, leaning on his arm. Jay had zoomed in on the way her face rested near his shoulder, and his own hand was gently close to her cheek. From outside, it looked like the softest, most romantic moment ever. The peaceful music Jay had added in the background made it worse.

Leonardo blinked. This didn’t feel romantic back then.

He clicked the second video.

It was from the auction—Jay had sneakily recorded their dance. The angle captured the way Leonardo pulled her close by her waist, how her cheeks turned red and her lips trembled as she followed his lead.

Leonardo’s face was unreadable, almost robotic, but his eyes narrowed a little. He didn’t remember looking at her that gently. Was that really him?

Actually, Leonardo had no idea that Jay had been posting about him and Isabella online. He was completely unaware of it until he happened to overhear a few mansion guards chatting near the corridor.

"Did you see that video Sir Jay uploaded? Sir Leonardo and Miss Isabella looked like a real couple."

"Yeah, they totally had that soft couple vibe. Didn’t expect that from him!"

Leonardo paused mid-step, his brows twitching slightly.

What video?

That’s when he silently turned around, went to his room, and without saying a word, created a hidden social media account, just to see for himself what Jay had done.

He didn’t like being the center of gossip. He didn’t like being "shipped." And yet...

He stared at the screen again. Jay had even added sparkles and light effects to the video. This idiot, Leonardo thought, but for some reason, he didn’t call jay to delete the folder. Instead, he... took screenshots. Of the dance. Of her sleeping near him. Of their fingers brushing during that one close moment.

He didn’t know why.

Maybe he was saving them to warn Jay later.

Or maybe...

"That little bitch! She actually seduced Leo??" Jessica’s face twisted with disbelief and rage as she scrolled through Jay’s public account. Of course she was spying–she checked it almost every day, just waiting to find a weakness to strike. But today’s post nearly made her throw her phone across the room.

That video. That dance. The way Leonardo looked at Isabella, even if he looked cold, there was something in his eyes. And Isabella... that stupid girl looked like she belonged at his side.

Jessica clenched her fists.

How could her daughter be so blind? Didn’t she understand that Leonardo was never the kind of man she could tame? Didn’t she realise she had already handed over her place, her future, her perfect husband to that girl—just by running away?

This was not part of Jessica’s plan.

She had intended to control Isabella completely. She’d even prepared a backup plan to drag her back the moment she stepped out of line. But after investigating, she realized something horrifying–Isabella didn’t even own a phone. Leonardo’s mansion was locked down like a fortress, with high-level security, firewalls, surveillance—everything. There was no sneaking in...

But Jessica wasn’t giving up.

Maybe... just maybe, if she visited Leo’s mansion as a "guest," politely, calmly... with Sam by her side, she could get a foot inside again.

Yes. It was time to plan a sweet little surprise visit. And maybe...just maybe shake things up.

"Hey," a familiar voice whispered behind her, followed by a warm hug that wrapped around her shoulders. Jessica blinked out of her thoughts, and the moment she saw it was Sam, she let out a soft sigh and smiled gently.

"You look tired," she asked, turning slightly in his arms to face him.

"Yeah," Sam said, rubbing the back of his neck with a sigh. "Caught up with a few things. I was also tracking Stella... That girl’s still hanging around that guy. I don’t know what she sees in him, but it’s like she’s not getting bored anytime soon."

Jessica’s smile faded a little. Her gaze dropped to the floor, and for a moment, silence settled between them.

"She’ll come back..." Jessica muttered, more to herself than to Sam. Her voice was low, and almost a whisper. "I know she will."

But even as she said the words, a flicker of doubt passed through her eyes. The same doubt that had been crawling into her chest ever since everything started falling out of her control.

Sam noticed it, but he didn’t say anything. He just held her a little tighter, letting her lean into him, letting her pretend for now that things weren’t spiraling.

"I miss Isabella too..." Jessica said with a soft sigh, her voice trembling slightly, but the look in her eyes wasn’t as sad as her tone. She pressed her hand to her chest, pretending like her heart was aching. "I think we should visit her, Sam... I just want to see how she’s doing."

Sam shook his head immediately, frowning as he looked at her. "No. It’s not a good idea right now."

Jessica raised an eyebrow, feigning confusion. "Why not?"

He sighed, rubbing his temples like he was already tired of explaining. "We’ll go. Just not now. Let things cool down first. Don’t you know Leonardo was attacked?"

Jessica blinked. Her lips parted slightly, then pressed together. Of course, she knew–she had her ways of hearing everything. But pretending was part of her charm.

"Oh... really? I didn’t know it was that serious," she said, trying to sound concerned, but Sam could hear how flat her voice was.

"It is," he said sharply. "The security around his place is tight. We’ll just make things worse showing up now. Let them breathe. Then... we’ll make our move."

Jessica gave a small nod, biting her bottom lip, though her eyes gleamed with a silent calculation.
