Chapter 31 Sober, I Only Want to Know What I Want to Know

When the medicine had not yet been swallowed, it was discovered by Li Yuncheng. He pushed Feng Ran’s back, took the medicine directly, and swallowed it.

Feng Ran’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Li Yuncheng. When had he discovered it? She looked at the pill, and without thinking further, bent down to pick it up. However, the pill vanished before her eyes.

As she stood there stunned, even suspecting she was hallucinating, the pill reappeared in Li Yuncheng’s hand.

“Follow me and be obedient. Hmm.” Li Yuncheng whispered gently in Feng Ran’s ear. Though his voice was soft, the sharpness in his eyes remained.

Feng Ran shivered all over. She realized Li Yuncheng’s hand was still on her, resting on her waist. When she tried to break free, Li Yuncheng whispered in her ear, “Feng Ran, be good and obedient. Don’t resist. Just leave with me.”

In front of those people, Li Yuncheng took Feng Ran away to another private room.

Li Yuncheng was an expert poison maker and even more so, a master of poison usage. It was just that few knew his medical skills were also excellent.

Upon entering the private room, Li Yuncheng directly pushed her away.

Feng Ran, in the corner, was stunned for a moment. After a long pause, she finally reacted, thinking much before speaking, “Young Master Li, have I done something wrong?”

After speaking, Feng Ran lowered her head, her hands clenched tightly. She recalled how Li Yuncheng had taken the pill. And the way Li Yuncheng looked at her, his previously calm eyes had changed when he saw the pill.

She surmised that Li Yuncheng’s transformation must be closely related to that pill.

She pondered repeatedly, if Li Yuncheng brought up the matter of the pill, how would she answer?

Li Yuncheng remained silent at this moment. Could she leave then?

After much hesitation, she finally said with helplessness, “Young Master Li, if there are no further instructions, this servant will withdraw first. I would not want to be a bother to Young Master Li, nor incur his displeasure, which would be my fault.”

Feng Ran spoke, eager to leave. Without waiting for Li Yuncheng’s response, she immediately moved towards the exit.

Feng Ran walked, but her heart was filled with unease. She always felt a sharp gaze from behind, constantly watching her.

Feng Ran placed her hand on the door, opening it a crack. Just as she was about to leave, the person behind her grabbed her hand, pinning her against the wall. He looked at Feng Ran with cold eyes, as if he wouldn’t be satisfied until he could see through her completely.

His cold hand fell on Feng Ran’s face, and he whispered in her ear, “Feng Ran, you still haven’t told me what I want to know. Do you think I will let you go?”

Feng Ran’s back was slick with cold sweat, and her entire body trembled.

She turned her head, unwilling to interact further with the man before her, even unwilling to speak.

She closed her eyes tightly, reminding herself in her heart that no matter what she had to endure next, she must not reveal Aunt Sheng.

Aunt Sheng was the only one who was kind to her, the only one from whom she felt a glimmer of warmth.

Aunt Sheng had always protected her, and she could not be heartless.

A rare ray of light, she had to protect it well.

“Mmm…” Li Yuncheng’s hand, however, fell coldly on Feng Ran’s chin. Grasping her chin, he said wickedly, “Feng Ran, do you think closing your eyes can make you escape everything?”

“If I want to know something, I can extract it even from a dead man’s mouth.”

Without any warning, Feng Ran was forcibly fed medicine.

At this moment, she felt nothing.

“You… what exactly do you want to do?”

“What did you do to me?”

Her eyes, filled with panic, looked at the person before her.

“As long as you are obedient, nothing will happen,” Li Yuncheng said softly, yet his voice was exceptionally cold, showing no emotion.

At this moment, she had no idea what the person before her wanted to do or what their intentions were.

Feng Ran trembled all over. If Li Yuncheng had directly started torturing her, she wouldn’t have been this terrified.

Li Yuncheng’s gentle yet cold voice agitated her, plunging her into panic.

She felt as if she had returned to that day when the Feng family was massacred by Xuanyuan Heng.

She was restrained by Xuanyuan Heng, watching helplessly as the Feng family perished, and her parents died before her eyes. She could do nothing, not even utter a sound.

At that time, her mouth was gagged, and her hands and feet were bound.

The person before her looked exactly like Xuanyuan Heng had when he inflicted harm upon her.

“Feng Ran, I told you long ago not to provoke me lightly, or you would regret it for life. However, at that time, you did not believe my words.”

The scene shifted, returning once again to the day the Feng family was destroyed.

Xuanyuan Heng grabbed her and said to her fiercely, “Feng Ran, this is the consequence of provoking me. If you had been obedient back then, the Feng family would not have met such a fate.”

“The Feng family met such a fate because of you.”

Feng Ran’s eyes were unfocused, her face pale. Looking at the person before her, she began to hallucinate. The person before her seemed to have transformed into the one who had aggressively humiliated her back then.

Feng Ran, her eyes bloodshot, looked at the person before her and slapped him directly. She kept murmuring, “I regret it, I regret it.”

Suddenly, she knelt down and pleaded tearfully, “Kill me, I will pay with my life. Everything started with me. I beg you, let them go. I did everything, and it has nothing to do with them.”

Li Yuncheng looked at the person before him in disbelief, not even able to fathom that he had been slapped. Everyone he met recoiled from him. Yet, she had struck him.

He remembered that many years ago, someone had also slapped him. And he had spent considerable effort searching for that damned woman, but had never found her.

Li Yuncheng grabbed her hand and furiously reprimanded, “Do you want to die?” as if he were a messenger from hell.

“I… I didn’t mean to. I…”

Li Yuncheng dragged Feng Ran to the side of the bathtub and directly pushed her into the water.

Feng Ran struggled continuously.

“Awake now?” the man’s terrifying voice rang out.

Feng Ran was stunned. Looking at the person before her, she was momentarily speechless.

Li Yuncheng let out a cold chuckle and said coldly, “Shall we do it again?”

“No, don’t.” Feng Ran trembled all over.

She had just touched the water, and wearing thin clothing, Feng Ran seemed entirely disoriented.

Li Yuncheng walked towards the bed. Feng Ran instinctively dodged, even wanting to escape.

But she suddenly stopped, as if remembering something important.
