悲殇的秋千

Chapter 253

"I'm so full~"

As soon as the apartment door opened, Black Bean waddled in, clutching her bloated little belly while slipping off her shoes.

The moment her feet touched the cold tiled floor, her body went limp, and she flopped down flat on the ground, not moving a muscle, looking like she had no intention of getting up anytime soon.

Ning Chu stepped over her and muttered in exasperation, “Can you stop acting like a cat? Go lie down on the bed.”

“Okay~”

But Black Bean didn’t budge an inch.

Ning Chu’s mother walked in behind them, smiling warmly. “It’s fine, she’s just a kid. You used to love sitting on the floor when you were little too.”

“I didn’t still do that when I was ten…”

“She’s only half a year old.”

Ning Chu turned to look at Wen Yang, who came in last, his arms weighed down with shopping bags.

After dinner, her mom had dragged them all out shopping and bought a ton of fall and winter clothes for both Black Bean and Ning Chu.

“Mom, can you help Black Bean take a bath?”

“I don’t wanna!” Black Bean protested.

Her mom crouched down and poked at Black Bean’s sulky face. “If you are all dirty like this, sister won’t like you anymore.”

“I hate bathing…”

Wen Yang stood helplessly at the doorway, blocked by the two of them, and handed the shopping bags over to Ning Chu.

“I’m heading back to the dorm soon.”

“Okay. Shaoqing going back tonight, right? Check on him for me, see how badly he got beat up.”

“I just bought some goji berries for Wang Jie too. Gonna bring them so he can soak them in water.”

Ning Chu’s tone was full of gloating amusement.

But Wen Yang was still preoccupied with his own worries. He nodded glumly.

“Auntie… I’ll head off now?”

“Go ahead.”

His future mother-in-law didn’t even try to make him stay.

Ning Chu walked over to him and whispered comfortingly,

“It’s okay. You did your best.”

When they were out earlier, Wen Yang had practically done everything himself. If only his sweet-talking game were stronger, he’d be perfect. Still, he had handled almost everything, and now it all depended on whether her mother’s impression of him had changed.

“Yeah.”

After seeing Wen Yang off, Ning Chu closed the door. When she turned around, she found her mother standing there, smiling oddly at her.

She immediately sensed that the rest of the evening wasn’t going to go so smoothly.

“He takes good care of you, doesn’t he?”

“Mm…”

“I’m gonna go take a shower. My body’s feeling all sticky.” Ning Chu’s cheeks flushed slightly as she darted toward the wardrobe. She called over her shoulder,

“Black Bean! Come shower with me!”

“I’m too full~ I can’t move~”

“Get over here, now!”

Grumbling, Black Bean got up reluctantly, her face full of complaints and pouty resistance.

Normally, Ning Chu only needed ten or twenty minutes to shower. But when she had to bathe Black Bean too, the whole ordeal dragged on to over forty minutes.

This cat would cling to her the moment water touched her, like a wet, oversized koala.

After much fussing, Ning Chu finally emerged from the bathroom, wearing a long nightgown. Her tail poked through the slit at the back, standing stiffly upright in case the cat tried to pounce on it like a toy.

“Mom, did you bring something to change into?”

“I’ll just wear yours.”

“Ugh…” Ning Chu dug out a short nightdress from the wardrobe and handed it over.

Her mom accepted it without hesitation and walked into the bathroom.

It was still early, so Ning Chu sat down in front of her computer.

Normally she’d be writing her novel at this time, but with her mother here tonight, she settled for posting a pre-written chapter instead.

As she blew her hair dry, she turned to look at Black Bean, who was lying on the bed playing with her tail.

“Black Bean, you're leaving tomorrow.”

“Mm.”

“Once you’re with Mom, don’t be too naughty or she’ll get annoyed,” Ning Chu reminded her. “You might even have to go to school, so don’t bully your classmates.”

“Got it~”

Ning Chu was genuinely worried about Black Bean’s ability to learn.

She looked like she was about ten, so she should be in fourth grade—but in reality, her education level wasn’t even at kindergarten standard.

After all, she used to be just a cat. She’d never been to school.

“Mom…” Black Bean suddenly looked up and stared at her. “Are you abandoning me?”

“What? Of course not.”

“Then why are you sending me away… I don’t wanna be a stray cat again…”

Ning Chu climbed onto the bed and half-lay down, gently stroking Black Bean’s head in an attempt to comfort her.

“I’ll be back in two months. It’s not like I’m abandoning you.”

“Oh…”

Black Bean didn’t seem very cheered up. She lay on the bed at an angle, lacking her usual carefree demeanor.

Seeing her like that dampened Ning Chu’s own mood as well. She could only continue to stroke the little cat girl's head, unsure of what else to say.

Her mother came out of the bathroom and sat down at the head of the bed. The tail behind her swayed lazily, quickly catching Black Bean’s attention. Her eyes followed the heart-shaped tip of the tail, sparkling with interest, clearly getting ready to pounce.

“Mom, be careful.”

Succubus tails were sensitive, if Black Bean managed to bite it, it’d probably hurt enough to bring tears.

“It’s fine,” her mom said casually, leaning against the wall. She wasn’t the least bit concerned about her short nightdress in front of her daughter.

She turned to Ning Chu and asked, “Are you serious about Wen Yang?”

“Ugh… Why are we talking about him again?” Ning Chu muttered, clearly exasperated. She lowered her head and fiddled with her nails. “Of course I’m serious. I wouldn’t just be messing around…”

Her mother scrutinized her, frowning slightly.

“Then… there’s nothing wrong with him, right?”

“Wrong with him?”

Ning Chu froze. Then, her face flushed red in an instant. She quickly shook her head.

“No, no! I haven’t let him touch me…”

“You’re pretty conservative, huh?”

Ning Chu felt her mom was being a bit snarky.

Honestly, in just a few short weeks, every inch of her body had already been explored—except for that final step. So calling herself “conservative” felt kind of off.

But from a succubus’s perspective… yeah, she was kind of conservative. They were supposed to devour their men the moment they started dating, weren’t they?

“His family isn’t well off. If you end up with him, you’re bound to suffer a bit,” her mom said in a half-joking tone.

“Don’t end up struggling through the hard times with him, only for him to ditch you for someone younger and prettier once life gets easier…”

“That won’t happen,” Ning Chu muttered, lowering her head. “I keep him on a tight leash…”

Her mother sighed, looking at her daughter’s pitifully infatuated expression.

“Although our family's not doing badly. You don’t need to go chasing some poor guy and make life harder for yourself.”

“Can we not talk about this? We just started dating—who knows what the future holds?”

From the look of it, she has completely fallen for him

Ning Chu's mom looked at Ning Chu’s expression.

It was like seeing a younger version of herself.

Suddenly, her tail flicked to the side, making Black Bean pounce and miss, then teasingly swung again in front of her eyes. Without even glancing at Black Bean, Ning Chu mom pulled two boxes of condoms from one of the shopping bags and placed them in Ning Chu’s nightstand drawer.

“I can’t talk you out of it, but at least don’t get pregnant during college.”

“Mom!!”

“Okay, okay, I’ll stop.” Her mom covered her mouth and laughed.

“They’re in your nightstand now—use them when you need to.”

Ning Chu glared at her mom in embarrassment and frustration.

“Geez, you used to be a boy. Why are you so shy~?”

Hiss—

Just mentioning that made Ning Chu’s shame skyrocket.

She almost lost her breath from the secondhand embarrassment and immediately dove under the covers.

“I’m going to sleep!”
