"It's great that you're here to pick us up. Let's postpone the invitation for now; I might not have time in the next few days," Ye Hao said, lightly punching Wu Kun's shoulder.
"Oh, I get it now." Wu Kun glanced at Lin Yan beside him, a look of sudden understanding dawning on his face.
He truly hadn't expected back then that their boss would actually chase Lin Yan abroad and eventually win her over. Given Lin Yan and Gu Ting's relationship at the time, they all thought their boss was destined for a bitter departure. "Alright, as Yan Yan said. I haven't been back for a long time. Help me book a restaurant then," Ye Hao replied.
"Okay, I'll book a restaurant tonight and send you the location." They were led by Wu Kun to a car. Wu Kun opened the trunk and placed their luggage inside.
"This car is all thanks to Boss. Ah, I was such a disappointment in high school. If Boss hadn't taken me under his wing, I wouldn't be where I am today!" Wu Kun said, subtly praising Ye Hao. "Throughout university, I had both a car and a house. I used to be the black sheep among my relatives, but now they all praise my abilities. We are truly grateful to Boss."
"Grateful for what? Isn't all of this the result of your own hard work!" Ye Hao said dismissively, then opened the car door for Lin Yan. After ensuring she was seated comfortably, he got in from the other side.
Seeing Ye Hao's actions, Wu Kun curled his lips. His boss was truly wrapped around Lin Yan's finger; he would likely never escape her grasp in this lifetime!
"Take Sister-in-law home first," Ye Hao said once he was settled. "Then find me a hotel nearby."
"Boss, you're not going home?" Wu Kun asked, slightly surprised.
"No one will be there, and it's probably not cleaned either. Better to stay in a hotel!" Ye Hao said nonchalantly.
Lin Yan heard him and reached out to hold his hand. Ye Hao looked at her, "It's okay, I'm used to it."
"Yes, staying in a hotel is so comfortable! Everything is ready, you can come and go as you please!" Wu Kun quickly changed the subject, realizing he had said the wrong thing.
After dropping Lin Yan off at her doorstep, Ye Hao didn't linger. He hadn't officially visited yet, and arriving empty-handed would be impolite without any preparations.
Back in the car, Ye Hao took the passenger seat.
"Boss, you're really not going home?" Wu Kun asked cautiously.
"I will, just not now." Ye Hao leaned back against the seat and fastened his seatbelt. "After all, they'll have to attend my engagement banquet eventually!" A triumphant smile played on his lips.
"Engagement? Boss, you proposed?" Wu Kun exclaimed in surprise.
"Of course. Once it's settled, I can relax. You have no idea how popular your Sister-in-law is!" Ye Hao's tone was filled with pride. He wanted to announce to the world how outstanding his Yan Yan was, and also to let everyone know that such an exceptional person belonged to him.
"Alright, Boss, your smile is reaching your ears. But how long will you be staying in Lin City now that you're back?"
"Probably for a while, I need to officially visit Yan Yan's family." Ye Hao pondered; he wasn't entirely sure how long.
"So, will you be staying in hotels the whole time?"
"Temporarily, yes. I have no intention of going back to that house." When he went abroad, he had already severed ties with that family. After all, they were the ones who were a family; he was merely an outsider. kand
"Then, Boss, where will you settle down in the future?" Wu Kun's question wasn't without reason. The few industries Ye Hao had invested in back then had prospered, and he was not short of money. However, given his strained relationship with his family, Wu Kun didn't think Ye Hao would remain in this city. "Probably a city in the south. Yan Yan's company headquarters are there, and the climate is more suitable."

"Is this hotel okay, Boss? It's conveniently close to Sister-in-law's place and there are plenty of restaurants nearby," Wu Kun gestured with his chin towards the hotel ahead.
"Yes, this one is fine! Convenience is key. Just drop me off at the entrance; I'll go in myself," Ye Hao said, glancing at the hotel ahead and nodding.
"I'll escort you in; it won't take much time." Wu Kun drove the car into the hotel parking lot as directed.
Ye Hao and Wu Kun got out of the car and went to the lobby, where they booked the best suite.
