Chapter 222 Anxious Ancient One, Dark Doctor Strange

The retrieval of information was as simple and easy as Lin Feng had imagined.

For the time being, as long as Tony finished collecting the data and sent it to him, he could wait at ease for the spirit deer's next summons.

However, Lin Feng did not become idle.

Lin Feng noticed something very strange.

It seemed that ever since he became the Silver Superman, there were constant unforeseen events.

Lin Feng could vaguely sense a brewing storm, a feeling of great upheaval approaching, which made him somewhat agitated.

Lin Feng had no more tasks at hand. Once the information was transmitted back to his homeland, he could set off for other universes.

But there was a thirty-day rest period in between.

If nothing unexpected happened, then something unexpected would happen...

As expected, after resting for less than two days, the Ancient One found him...

"Lin Feng!"

Hearing the familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar voice, Lin Feng couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Here it comes, trouble has found me...

A golden portal opened in the living room of Lin Feng's villa.

The Ancient One walked out from within.

However, the portal did not close.

In fact, this action was somewhat impolite for Lin Feng, who was at the Silver Superman level.

But Lin Feng's personality was not one to dwell on such matters.

Moreover, at this moment, the Ancient One's expression was clearly troubled and grave.

It was evident that something major had occurred...

Lin Feng sighed, what a life of toil!

"Ancient One?"

"What is it? Has Dormammu attacked?"

Seeing the Ancient One's solemn expression and combined with his direct visit, Lin Feng instinctively thought of Dormammu.

If there was anything else that could make the Ancient One look so solemn, it would probably be Dormammu for now.

However, the situation was even more serious than Lin Feng had imagined.

The Ancient One shook his head and said, "More terrifying than Dormammu!"

"Lin Feng, would you please accompany me? We need you!" the Ancient One said solemnly, taking a deep breath.

This uncharacteristic behavior gave Lin Feng a bad premonition.

He carefully examined the Ancient One.

Agitation, worry, and even a trace of undetectable fear...

This was utterly abnormal.

The Ancient One was portrayed as a character akin to a prophet, one who had everything under control in the Marvel universe.

But now, the situation looked dire and troublesome.

There was no choice. Who else but the great savior boss could handle this?

Lin Feng stood up and nodded silently.

He couldn't refuse. The Ancient One had given him the Time Stone.

If something happened now and he didn't help, wouldn't he seem like an ungrateful wretch?

Seeing Lin Feng agree, the Ancient One seemed to heave a sigh of relief and turned towards the portal, "Please follow me!"

The golden portal was incredibly cool. Lin Feng mused to himself.

He wondered if the Ancient One's portal could open to parallel universes.

Stepping through the portal, the two arrived at Kamar-Taj, in the small room where the Ancient One had met Lin Feng last time.

Two "guests" were already waiting by the square low table.

"Strange?" Lin Feng exclaimed in shock upon seeing one of them.

One of the "guests" was the Doctor Strange Lin Feng was familiar with, Strange.

But what surprised Lin Feng was that the timeline didn't match!

It wasn't time for Strange to become Doctor Strange yet!

However, upon closer inspection, Lin Feng quickly noticed that this Strange was not the cinematic version of Doctor Strange.

The attire was predominantly black and blue, with a dark gold patterned floating cloak draped behind him.

His hair was darker, and he had extremely dark circles around his eyes.

The entire person exuded a dark, ominous aura!

Dark Doctor Strange?

Lin Feng's heart skipped a beat.

He recognized the Strange before him.

Strange examined Lin Feng carefully, not understanding how the person in front of him knew him.

But he still politely greeted him, "Hello, Strange!"

The personality of Dark Doctor Strange wasn't actually bad.

If one were to trace his origins, he would be a character from an animated series.

From Marvel's What If...? series...

The Strange before him had a completely different life from the Strange in the movies.

In the animated series, Strange destroyed the entire universe to revive his girlfriend!

Lin Feng quickly searched his mind for information about Dark Doctor Strange.

Before becoming the Sorcerer Supreme, Strange had a girlfriend named Christine.

But their happiness was short-lived. They were involved in a car accident on their way to a banquet.

Strange was unharmed, but Christine tragically died.

Unable to accept this fact, Strange began searching all over the world for a way to resurrect his girlfriend.

Eventually, he found Kamar-Taj and became a disciple of the Ancient One.

The subsequent experiences were similar to the movie.

After defeating Dormammu and becoming the Sorcerer Supreme, Strange still couldn't forget Christine.

Finally, he chose a dangerous path.

He used the Time Stone for time travel.

He repeatedly returned to the day Christine died, constantly trying to change the outcome, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't prevent Christine's death.

The Ancient One could no longer bear to watch and revealed certain truths to Strange.

Christine's death was an absolute time point in the timeline.

It was a necessary condition for Strange to embark on his magical path, and it was unchangeable that Strange would eventually become the Sorcerer Supreme and protect Earth.

If Christine didn't die, Strange wouldn't have been able to defeat Dormammu, nor could he have become the Sorcerer Supreme.

But the stubborn Strange did not give up, believing that anything was possible and that he just needed more power!

In his helplessness, the Ancient One could only intervene but still failed to stop Strange.

However, under the Ancient One's influence, Strange was split into two.

One went to the Library of Lost Books, and the other chose to let go of his obsession.

The two became two timelines, coexisting in one universe.

In the Library of Lost Books, there were countless lost tomes.

This gave Doctor Strange even more hope.

He continuously trained according to the methods found in the books.

It was unclear which exceptionally brilliant book described that to break through an absolute time point, one needed to absorb various other beings to gain unattainable power.

Thus, Strange began to summon and absorb various mysterious beings from unknown realms through magical arrays.

Giant eagles, fire dragons, malevolent spirits, and octopus tentacles.

Strange was indiscriminate, absorbing whatever he found, until he had transformed into a veritable chimera.
