Ling Lu possessed high emotional intelligence, often making Lin Feng laugh with her conversation.
Their hushed laughter dissolved the tension in the air.
Arnold walked at the front of the group, his expression peculiar.
Just as he could no longer resist scolding the two, Lin Feng suddenly stopped, his smile vanishing.
"Something's up…"
As the words left his mouth, Arnold immediately made a gesture to halt.
"Alert!"
His eyes scanned the surroundings vigilantly, showing no distrust towards Lin Feng despite him not being part of their team.
This was a life-or-death mission; anyone joking about it was truly brainless!
Firearms were de-cocked, and the team members warily observed their assigned sectors.
Ling Lu also grew somewhat nervous. "Big Brother, what's the situation?"
"At the one o'clock position, the large tree, the second branch, shoot directly there."
"Don't look directly at it, aim with your peripheral vision," Lin Feng added.
Ling Lu glanced peripherally. There was nothing on the branch Lin Feng had indicated.
Yet, without hesitation, she raised her hand and fired a burst.
Trusting the big brother meant good fortune!
*Pew, pew, pew!*
The rapid gunfire startled countless birds in the forest.
The bullets, striking the area above the branch, seemed to hit a transparent object and stopped.
"Roar!"
Green blood dripped down the trunk from where Ling Lu had fired.
A large mass of air distorted, then revealed a powerfully built, armored, iron-blooded warrior.
It roared ferociously at the group.
Arnold opened fire immediately. Xi Xing and the others reacted a moment slower but also raised their guns, concentrating fire on the unfortunate iron-blooded warrior.
The iron-blooded warrior had no idea how the team had discovered it.
Facing the hail of bullets, the warrior attempted to retreat.
But it found itself unable to move, as if stuck to the tree trunk, becoming a large, immobile target.
That was Lin Feng's telekinesis! A mere iron-blooded warrior couldn't break free!
Seconds later, the iron-blooded warrior was riddled with bullets, its plasma cannon behind it barely having fired.
Although its armor was strong, the team's enhanced weapons were not to be trifled with.
One burst each, and the warrior was unequivocally finished.
"Nice!" Ling Lu excitedly gave Lin Feng a hug of affection.
Mission count: 1/10.
This kill was credited to her.
"Quick, move out!"
After dispatching the iron-blooded warrior, Arnold calmly led the charge.
Gunfire would attract danger. This kind of creature was best dealt with by firing and relocating!
The group jogged away from the scene.
Arnold was curious as to how Lin Feng had detected the iron-blooded warrior.
With a hint of awe, he walked over to Lin Feng.
"Lord Lin Feng, could you tell me how you discovered the iron-blooded warrior?"
When in doubt, ask. In the face of danger, there was no shame.
Lin Feng hadn't deliberately lowered his voice earlier, so everyone knew he was the first to spot the iron-blooded warrior.
When asked, Lin Feng simply smiled and modestly replied, "My perception is quite keen!"
He couldn't be bothered to explain further to Arnold.
Arnold nodded thoughtfully at his words, wisely choosing not to probe Lin Feng's abilities further.
But this was more than just keen perception.
Almost every iron-blooded warrior was an experienced and formidable hunter, equipped with advanced cloaking technology.
What seemed like a simple focused barrage that eliminated the iron-blooded warrior.
Without Lin Feng's warning, casualties would have been unavoidable for the team.
However, Lin Feng clearly didn't want to elaborate, and Arnold didn't want to embarrass himself. He simply began to discreetly observe Lin Feng's actions.
Ma Lian watched Lin Feng with a dark expression.
He seemed to understand why Ling Lu was so attached to Lin Feng.
Being able to pinpoint the iron-blooded warrior instantly showed some capability…
Who didn't like to cling to a strong ally?
Even the reticent Barnett occasionally directed his attention towards Lin Feng.
If Lin Feng could consistently detect the iron-blooded warriors in advance, this mission would be remarkably easy!
After dealing with Arnold's inquiry, Lin Feng turned to check on Xi Xing.
From the start, Lin Feng had felt her gaze fixed on him from behind.
Why?
Upon looking, he found her usually beautiful purple eyes now staring straight at him, filled with resentment.
Good heavens, the mature woman had turned into a resentful wife?
That look made it seem as though Lin Feng had done something to betray her.
Lin Feng couldn't help but shudder.
"You get the next one, you get the next one!"
Lin Feng quickly figured out why Xi Xing was acting this way.
Lin Feng had been summoned by Xi Xing, who was his contact.
But the moment Lin Feng appeared, he was engrossed in conversation with Ling Lu, completely neglecting Xi Xing.
And when he spotted the iron-blooded warrior, he told Ling Lu to take the shot.
If one were to be precise, Lin Feng and Xi Xing weren't particularly close, yet inexplicably, Xi Xing was feeling jealous.
"I don't want it. Let Xiao Chu Xing take the next one!" Xi Xing said stubbornly.
Xiao Chu Xing was the one least likely to complete a mission. She cherished her only sister, fearing she might melt if held too tightly.
Without first ensuring Xiao Chu Xing completed her task, she couldn't feel at ease doing her own.
Lin Feng said with a smile, "No need to rush, you'll both complete your missions!"
Ling Lu jumped in, "That's right, let Xiao Chu Xing go first!"
"After all, Xiao Chu Xing is the weakest!" Ling Lu teased with a grin.
As she spoke, she patted Xiao Chu Xing's little head.
She knew Xiao Chu Xing didn't fully trust her, yet Ling Lu wasn't angry. Instead, she felt even more tender and concerned for Xiao Chu Xing than usual.
What had this child endured to lock her heart away so tightly?
"I'm not weak!"
Xiao Chu Xing indignantly slapped away the bothersome hand from her head.
She refused to admit she was a burden to her sister.
"Alright, then the next one will be for Xiao Chu Xing."
Lin Feng arranged with a smile. As for the three gentlemen ahead.
They would wait until the three girls had taken their turns.
Upon hearing Lin Feng call her name, Xiao Chu Xing stared at him with curious eyes.
Xi Xing took the opportunity to push her gently towards Lin Feng, as if afraid he might change his mind.
After a period of rest, the group moved forward again.
Lin Feng then pointed in a certain direction and said, "Captain Arnold, I suggest we go this way!"
Arnold glanced, saw no abnormalities, and after a few moments of thought, agreed to Lin Feng's suggestion.
Lin Feng's demonstrated perception clearly surpassed everyone else's.
Following him should pose no significant problem.
This was the benefit of displaying strength.
If Lin Feng hadn't immediately identified the iron-blooded warrior's location earlier, no one would have listened to him now.
Lin Feng wasn't choosing a direction at random.
In that direction, several Xenomorphs were resting.
Lin Feng had no intention of hiding his strength.
The priority was to find more Xenomorphs or iron-blooded warriors and complete the mission.
After all, he still had something he needed Ling Lu's help with!
