Chapter 680 Analysis, The Leader of the Third Faction

"Can't you find out who sent it?" Derwent asked. He was the older brother, the more level-headed one.

Aiven frowned, tapping agitatedly at the terminal. "Can't find anything, it's so damn weird."

"I say we just kill that Dionna, regardless of who sent the information!"

"We shouldn't have let her go back then! Who knew there were people who knew everything from birth!"

Aiven's efforts were in vain. He threw his hands in frustration, his face a mask of annoyance.

Derwent sighed as well. "You're right, we shouldn't have let her go." But what was done back then was of no use now. Letting Dionna go wasn't out of mercy, but a simple calculation that an infant was less advantageous than an opportunity to befriend other powerhouses. They hadn't expected to suddenly receive such a message.

There was no doubt that Dionna would bring them trouble if nothing unexpected happened. Nearly twenty years had passed since then. In these two decades, Dionna might have formulated some plans or schemes to deal with the two brothers. The message clearly stated that Dionna would seek revenge on them.

"No! I have to go kill that beast-eared freak!" Aiven's unease grew with each thought, and he immediately stood up, ready to go on a killing spree.

Derwent's brow furrowed, and he barked, "Come back!"

"What, are we just going to let her go?" Aiven stopped, clearly displeased. Derwent was the second eldest of the three brothers. His older brothers were usually strict with him, more prudent in their actions, and often kept him in check. Although Aiven found it annoying, he still listened to his brothers.

"Letting her go is impossible, but we need a plan..." Derwent said.

"A plan? Dionna isn't that strong. What kind of plan do we need to deal with her?" Aiven was confused. Dionna had only joined an auxiliary team, but they themselves could fight against the leaders of the first tier. Killing Dionna would be as easy as taking candy from a baby.

Derwent's face darkened. "I told you to read more often, to read more! You never listened!" "Now, tell me, which faction does Dionna belong to?"

"Which faction? What other faction could it be, other than that smiling man Eggert's faction?" Aiven muttered as he used his authority to check. When he saw Dionna's recent information, Aiven froze for two seconds. "The Fifth Faction? That newly appointed Shanhai's faction?" Aiven quickly calmed himself and looked closely. "Holy crap, she joined the Fifth Faction today?!" "What's going on? Something feels off?" Aiven vaguely sensed something was wrong. But with his intelligence, it was hard for him to figure out what exactly was wrong.

Seeing him like this, Derwent chuckled. "You sense something's off, don't you!" Aiven nodded, "It does feel a bit off." "Exactly. Dionna joined the Fifth Faction today, and we received the information only after she joined. This is definitely not a coincidence." Aiven scratched his itchy head. "Did Dionna send it? Isn't her ability related to the digital world?" "No, that's not right either. Why would Dionna send this information and expose herself?" Aiven dismissed the question.

Derwent looked at his foolish brother and sighed. "The information was most likely not sent by Dionna. She doesn't have the power to hide the sender's information." Derwent found no reason for Dionna to betray herself, but he had already analyzed some things. "I have two suspicions. One is that someone might want us to become enemies with the Fifth Faction..." Derwent's mind raced, contemplating who would benefit if he and the Fifth Faction became adversaries.

"You mean... the dwarf from the Seventh Faction?" Aiven suddenly seemed to have a breakthrough. But it was easy to figure out. The dwarf from the Seventh Faction and Shanhai had been at odds since the beginning. Although no one knew the reason, they weren't interested in inquiring. "Exactly!" Derwent continued. "If we kill Dionna on her first day in the Fifth Faction, it's clearly an insult to the newly appointed Shanhai. In such a situation, Shanhai wouldn't remain silent. This would inevitably sour relations between our two factions, and Shanhai might even reasonably declare war to preserve his authority. Therefore, we cannot blindly go after Dionna." With Derwent's explanation, Aiven finally understood. That Shanhai was somewhat unhinged. If they rashly approached him, things wouldn't end well. Even with his eldest brother, Joseph, the leader of the Third Faction, above them, Aiven wouldn't foolishly disregard Shanhai.

"Then what's your second suspicion?"

Derwent: "My second suspicion is that this information came from Shanhai himself!" Derwent spoke, a glint in his eyes. This suspicion was bold but not unreasonable! "Although Dionna joined an auxiliary team, her potential isn't outstanding. I don't understand what Shanhai saw in her! And this information appeared shortly after she joined, so my suspicion isn't unfounded." At this point, Derwent frantically recalled if his side and Shanhai had any past interactions. The answer was no! "If Shanhai really did this, the goal is most likely to provoke conflict between us, but this possibility is too slim. No matter how crazy his personality, he wouldn't attack us without reason, and we haven't provoked him..." "So, I personally lean towards the Seventh Faction being behind this..." Derwent analyzed relentlessly. "No matter which possibility it is, the goal is ultimately one thing: to sow discord between us and Shanhai! And in this situation, the beneficiaries would be the dwarf from the Seventh Faction, so I think the Seventh Faction being the culprit is more likely..."

Aiven felt a headache coming on. A small Dionna had involved three factions? This matter was clearly not as simple as it seemed. Aiven didn't know what to do for a moment, only knowing that they couldn't blindly go and kill Dionna right now. At the same time, Aiven felt a sense of unwillingness.

"Should I send a message to Shanhai?" Aiven suggested.

Derwent shook his head. "No, you can't!" "I've already told Joseph about this. He'll be here soon. Let's wait..." Joseph was their eldest brother and the leader of the Third Faction.
