Chapter 21 The Loudmouth and the Conspiracy of Susan

Lin Feng finally quieted down, but Susan couldn't.

She regretted coming to work today.

If only she had listened to Lin and taken a day off to rest at home.

Now, as it neared the end of the workday, the office gossip queen noticed something unusual about her.

Her peculiar gait and the silver chain on her fair neck.

"Oh! My goodness!" the gossip queen shrieked.

"Susan, are you in love?"

Disaster! Susan's heart sank.

As expected, the next second, her colleagues' gazes turned towards her.

This damned gossip queen.

Susan suppressed the urge to slap her and replied with a cold face, "Yes..."

"Is that strange?"

"Oh! I knew it, Susan," the gossip queen said with a gossipy expression.

"Did your boyfriend give you that necklace?"

"I don't remember you wearing jewelry before."

"Such a big gemstone, it must have been expensive!!"

Susan was exasperated, utterly fed up with this gossip queen.

What business is it of yours whether I wear jewelry or not?

The gossip queen's intentionally loud voice could be heard clearly throughout the entire office, immediately causing a flurry of whispers.

"See, I told you Susan definitely has a boyfriend."

"Was it that luxury car that picked her up yesterday? Susan is dating a rich man?"

"Will she quit her job and live the life of a wealthy wife?"

"I'm so jealous. I heard it was a Stark Industries car that picked her up yesterday."

"Could it be Tony Stark! Ah!!"

"Don't talk nonsense. I heard it was a young man. And he seemed to be from the East."

"Very handsome..."

The discussion grew louder, and Susan held a cup of coffee with a helpless expression.

Colleagues! Your whispering is a bit too loud!

"Oh! Susan, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!" The gossip queen also realized she'd gone too far and immediately apologized to Susan, though her face showed no sign of remorse.

This woman was prettier than her and performed better.

She always acted so high and mighty, only to end up finding a rich man.

She had a grudge against Susan for a long time. Last time, she'd begged Susan to give her the photo of Superman she'd taken, but Susan had ruthlessly refused and given it to a new employee. The gossip queen had held onto that grudge.

Some people are just like that; you haven't provoked them, but they can't stand to see you do well.

"It's okay, it doesn't matter... Go back to work," Susan said, waving her hand helplessly, urging her to leave and stop hovering.

"Susan!" amidst the murmurs, an angry roar suddenly erupted.

Hearing the roar, the gossip queen's lips curled into a cold smile. Her goal was achieved.

She had noticed Susan's odd behavior early on but deliberately waited until John arrived to speak, wanting to cause trouble for Susan.

"Oh my god, it's John."

"This is going to be good. We're in for a show."

The gossip-loving colleagues widened their eyes, stopped working, and stared intently at Susan.

John stormed up to Susan, his face contorted with rage, his jowls trembling.

When he heard Susan had a boyfriend, combined with her strange gait, he seemed to understand something.

Instantly, his anger surged, as if struck by lightning.

It felt as if his most precious, long-cherished flower had been plucked by someone else.

"How could you have a boyfriend!" John yelled, his face twisted in a demonic grimace. Susan instinctively took two steps back, startled.

"Are you crazy, John!" Susan found it both infuriating and amusing. "What business is it of yours if I have a boyfriend?"

"You!" John was so provoked he couldn't speak, his plump face flushing red as he pointed at Susan, his hand trembling uncontrollably.

Indeed, why should she tell him if she had a boyfriend?

"You! Did you get involved with him! How could you do this?!" John's heart bled.

"Tell me, did you get together with him for money?!" In his rage, John lost all reason and began to slander her.

*Slap!*

A crisp sound echoed. Susan, her face a mask of fury, slapped John.

"John! Are you insulting my dignity!"

Everyone stared at the two of them, dumbfounded. The office fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop...

This was too explosive...

Stunned by the slap, John froze. After a long moment, he came to his senses and instinctively defended himself, "No, Susan."

"You know how I feel about you. How could you get a boyfriend without my permission?"

Susan was again infuriated by this bizarre statement and couldn't help but laugh.

"John! I've explicitly rejected you. I don't like your type."

"We are just colleagues! Please stop bothering me. My boyfriend will be unhappy if he finds out!"

With that, Susan turned and walked away, her gait somewhat awkward, making John feel like he would explode on the spot.

"What are you looking at! Don't you have work to do!"

Seeing everyone in the office staring at him wide-eyed, John's temper flared even more, and he started yelling.

As John glared at them, the onlookers quickly lowered their heads, pretending to work diligently.

John was now like a ferocious hyena, biting anyone he saw. They didn't want to draw his ire.

Looking at Susan's retreating back, John's eyes were filled with dark envy and resentment.

"Bitch, you'll regret this!"

He muttered under his breath and turned to walk towards his office.

After downing a large glass of cold water, John's anger still hadn't subsided.

Susan was beautiful, cute, and radiated a youthful vivacity, like someone fresh out of school.

Every smile and frown of hers captured John's attention.

Susan was the most appealing flower he had ever encountered in his life, and the only one he couldn't pluck.

This was an absolute humiliation for John.

Now that someone else had beaten him to it, he also held a grudge against Lin Feng.

"Damn it!" John roared. He would definitely make Susan regret this.

If I can't have it, I'll destroy it. No one will have peace.

"Knock, knock, knock~"

"Who is it?" John asked impatiently.

"It's me."

The door was pushed open, and the visitor was the notorious gossip queen.

"Flora?" John looked at the newcomer.

Flora had countless connections with him and was one of his informants at the radio station.

Although Flora was ordinary-looking, with crow's feet at the corners of her eyes.

Flora knew how to please, and she was good at it. John was indiscriminate, so he couldn't let her go.

"What is it? Flora?" John took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and asked.

Flora leaned forward and sat on his desk. Her rounded hips made John's mouth water, and the anger that had just subsided flared up again.

"I know! You want to get revenge on Susan, don't you!" Flora said.

"Don't deny it so quickly! That bitch, she dared to betray you!"

"I have a complete plan. Do you want to hear it?!" Flora tempted him. She knew John's personality like the back of her hand; this incompetent man was vindictive.

"Oh? Tell me about it?" As expected, John was intrigued. Flora and he were in the same boat, having committed many acts that harmed the radio station's interests. He wasn't afraid of Flora betraying him.

Seeing that John had taken the bait, Flora flashed a seductive smile, took out a stack of documents, and placed them before John, beginning to explain her plan.

As John listened to Flora's plan, his eyes grew brighter. He hadn't expected this woman to be so intelligent.

He couldn't help but praise her, "Excellent! Flora!"

"I didn't expect you to come up with this plan."

John's eyes gleamed as he stared at the stack of documents on the table.

"And most importantly, with this evidence, that bitch won't be able to escape!"

Flora sneered, "That bitch can't win against us, can she, my dear John?"

"She gave up someone as charming as you for some pretty boy. I don't know what she was thinking!"

Flora shamelessly flattered John, knowing that only by stroking his ego could she get what she wanted.

"Yes, you're right," John said, smiling with satisfaction.

"In that case, I'll communicate with my superiors, and the job of following Superman will be yours from now on!"

"But first, help me cool down!" Saying this, John grabbed Flora's head and pushed it down.

A flicker of disgust crossed Flora's eyes, but she didn't refuse.

The plan to deal with Susan, amidst their plotting, quietly began...
