Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Calling Raina "Mommy" Upon Seeing Her (Part 2)
"We people of Southgate are proud of talents like Master Void."
"Honey!"
"Mommy!"
Suddenly, shouts got louder one after another.
Someone in the crowd yelled: "That’s Master Void’s child with her husband; everyone, make way quickly!"
"What? Master Void’s husband and child? Where? Where?"
The crowd stirred and began searching.
Faye Shelby questioned: "Master, is your mentor here to take you back?"
Raina North squinted at the crowd shouting about Master Void’s husband and child coming, her expression cold, and she said indifferently: "Probably not."
Elias Hawthorne wouldn’t be so stupid to show up with the child at such a time, wouldn’t that just cause more trouble?
Faye Shelby nodded knowingly: "So they’re here to cause trouble, then."
She sighed, her master had this flaw—always attracting trash for some reason.
Though it ensured she was never idle and could argue at any moment, times like these were problematic, as ensuring elegance while arguing was quite difficult.
Just then, a fat middle-aged man with a four or five-year-old child made his way from the parted crowd to Raina North, showing her a greasy smile: "Raina, I’ve finally found you. Where have you been all these years? The child and I have been searching for you tirelessly."
The little boy tugged at Raina North’s sleeve, looking up: "Mommy, I’ve finally seen you, I missed you so much."
The reporter couldn’t hold back, thrusting the microphone forward: "Raina North, is this your former sponsor? Is this the child you surrogately bore years ago?"
Raina North ignored them and glanced at the man, finally resting her gaze on the little boy.
The child was four or five years old, with somewhat dark skin, yet he had bright eyes and fine features; most importantly, his facial features bore some resemblance to hers.
Bobby...
Raina North felt a bit dazed, recalling the words Claire North had said before.
She said that she had birthed triplets back in those days, and Bobby was sold as soon as he was born...
"Mommy, I’m Bobby, come hug me; since I was born, you’ve never held me."
The little boy reached out to Raina North, his eyes full of yearning that made it hard for others to refuse.
Raina North turned away her gaze, her expression cold: "No, you’re not my son."
"Mommy..."
"Raina, I know you’re angry because I wouldn’t divorce my wife to marry you back then, but I was helpless. She was my old wife; even if she was unbearable, I couldn’t truly abandon her. But it’s fine now, the nagging wife is dead. Hurry, go get your ID card and household register, let’s get married. Then we’ll be a real family."
As he spoke, he reached out his chubby hand to grab Raina North.
Raina North pushed the man’s hand away without hesitation, saying coldly: "Please behave, sir."
"Behave? Behave what? We’re practically husband and wife. Why are you acting all shy like young couples? No need for that."
Raina North’s face turned icy: "Sir, the courthouse is right behind us. If you continue spouting nonsense, don’t blame me for being rude."
"You’re... you’re going to sue me?" The middle-aged man suddenly protested, slapping his thigh and crying out: "Raina North, do you have a conscience? I’ve been fighting with my nagging wife day in and day out for you. After she died of anger, I rushed here without even settling her funeral, just to marry you. And this is how you repay me? Tell me, are you abandoning us because you have someone else outside?"
