Chapter 438: Chapter 438: Wishing to Slaughter That Scumbag with My Own Hands! (2)
As soon as the words fell, Aidan Lynch came in carrying two enormous food boxes.
Raina North stepped forward to take the food boxes and called out, "Kids, come and eat."
Casper North and the other two answered in unison and ran over to Raina North.
The foolish husky sized up the atmosphere in the room, realizing that even if it tore the house apart today, it still wouldn’t see its beloved little female dog. Helplessly, it trotted to Raina North’s side.
"Sister-in-law!" Quinn Thorne was about to chase after them, but just as he lifted his foot, he was stopped. He looked at Elias Hawthorne in disbelief, "Boss! Sister-in-law must know Anya’s whereabouts."
"Hmm."
"Then why are you stopping me?"
"Raina doesn’t want to say."
Quinn Thorne stomped his foot, "Even if she doesn’t want to say, she has to. I must know Anya’s whereabouts."
Upon hearing this, Elias Hawthorne’s eyes sharpened, and he said coldly, "So, are you planning to force the words out of your sister-in-law in front of me?"
"No, I just want to ask her to understand my situation. I..."
Elias Hawthorne said indifferently, "She doesn’t want to understand now, so bear with it."
"Boss!"
"What’s the rush?" Elias Hawthorne couldn’t help but reprimand, "Since she has already appeared and is close with Raina, as long as you wait patiently here, she will eventually appear. You’ve waited all these years, what’s a few more hours?"
"It matters, of course, it matters." Quinn Thorne’s voice inadvertently rose, "Not just a few hours, even a few minutes, a few seconds, I can’t wait!"
He wanted to see Anya Forrest now, immediately, at once.
"Oh." Elias Hawthorne looked indifferent, clearly not understanding him.
"Boss..."
Quinn Thorne couldn’t help but call out again, but Elias Hawthorne completely ignored him.
Quinn Thorne had no choice; even if he was being torn with anxiety, he dared not be reckless in front of Elias Hawthorne, nor force his way in to question Raina North.
The main reason was he couldn’t match Elias Hawthorne; he had been beaten too many times over the years.
Quinn Thorne could only shrink into a corner and draw circles, but before he could finish drawing, he couldn’t hold back anymore.
Elias Hawthorne looked at Quinn Thorne, who was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, feeling a bit helpless but too lazy to pay attention to him.
After all, as long as Quinn Thorne was right under his nose, nothing major could go wrong.
What concerned him was Raina North.
Raina North’s attitude just now was really odd.
Raina North had never been a sharp person and would never treat Quinn Thorne in such a manner, especially since this wasn’t their first meeting.
In other words, the sudden change in Raina North’s attitude was because of someone else.
Anya Forrest.
Elias Hawthorne glanced at Quinn Thorne, who was staring intently at the entrance, restless, and felt a heaviness in his chest.
He could only hope that Quinn Thorne would get a satisfying resolution this time, otherwise, he feared Quinn Thorne might fall apart.
...
Beep beep.
Upon hearing the phone ring, Anya Forrest took it out to look at it.
Raina told her that Quinn Thorne had arrived.
It was good he came; she feared he wouldn’t come.
A cold light flashed in Anya Forrest’s eyes, her lips curved into a smile as intoxicating as a poppy.
"Has work been busy lately?"
At the sound of the voice from the other side, Anya Forrest came back to her senses, and the moment she looked up, her expression became cautious again, "Not too busy, I was actually on vacation recently."
"Really?" Raymond Thorne said, "If work isn’t busy, then why are your dark circles so big? You almost look like a panda."
"Do I?" Anya Forrest was shocked and hurriedly opened her handbag to find a mirror.
