Chapter 505: Beau Shelby Wakes Up! (Part 1)

Chapter 505: Chapter 505: Beau Shelby Wakes Up! (Part 1)

Sure enough, when Claire North heard it, her last psychological defense shattered and just as she was about to say something, Brenda Adler appeared.

"Claire!"

Claire North saw Brenda Adler rushing over and swallowed the words back.

Raina North saw this and couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

"Raina, you’re here too. You’re here to see Beau as well, of course. After so many years, it’s not so easy to let go of such feelings. Don’t worry, we won’t tell President Hawthorne about this."

Raina North raised an eyebrow; she could naturally pick up the multiple meanings behind Brenda Adler’s words.

"There are no outsiders here, so no need for petty tricks. Let’s not talk in riddles. Before Beau Shelby had the car accident, he called me. He told me Claire North was never pregnant and is not Baby’s mother. Of course, I’m not interested in these details; I just want to know where my child is."

"Nonsense. Our Claire is indeed Baby’s mother, and we have a paternity test to prove it. I don’t know why Beau said such things, but he didn’t know the truth of that year anyway." Brenda Adler was no Claire North; she wouldn’t easily be provoked into disclosure by Raina North.

She knew well that if Raina North truly knew the truth, she wouldn’t be wasting words here.

Obviously, Beau Shelby hadn’t had a chance to say anything before the accident.

"As the old saying goes, everyone has their place and role. If a person wants to gain something, they must first give something. Don’t you agree? We’ve never intended to keep you and your son apart; mainly, you shouldn’t have taken over Claire’s place, hindering her recognition with Baby."

"Are you negotiating with me?" Raina North’s face turned icy.

"I’m merely giving you a suggestion, Raina. I’m doing it for the well-being of everyone."

Raina North smirked coldly without speaking.

She’d heard such rhetoric until her ears had nearly calloused.

For the so-called common good, she’d hidden her grievances, given up family bonds and love, only to be trampled upon.

"A nice suggestion, but unfortunately the chips in your hand are no longer unique."

"You mean Beau Shelby? He’s been unconscious for so long; there’s no guarantee he’ll ever wake up in this lifetime. I think you better stop dreaming." Claire North spoke with triumph, for she had already added something to Beau Shelby’s medicine; that old man said it could make Beau Shelby never wake up.

Don’t blame her for being ruthless; she hadn’t wanted to be.

It was Beau Shelby’s own fault for attempting to tell Raina North everything.

Raina North looked at Claire North’s triumphant demeanor, and her pupils could not help but constrict.

"What did you do to Beau Shelby?"

Claire North didn’t speak, but her facial expression betrayed her.

"Claire North, I thought you went to great lengths to snatch Beau Shelby away because at least you loved him."

"Of course I love him! But I love him because you, Raina, love Beau Shelby. Once you stole my life, your mother stole my mother’s man, now you’ve taken my Elias Hawthorne, taken my place as Young Madam of The Hawthorne Family. I’m supposed to be the noble heiress of The North Family; you’re just a lowly bastard. Why are you always so fortunate? The best things in this world should belong to me."

Claire North was insanely jealous of Raina North.

Especially when she first saw Raina North. She looked as regal as a princess from a castle; everyone’s eyes followed her. Clearly, she was the real princess, yet those people seemed blind, praising only Raina North.

She was unwilling to accept this.

From that moment on, she vowed to take everything that Raina North had.

And she succeeded.

She believed that if she succeeded five years ago, she could still succeed five years later.

"Do you think Beau Shelby is pitiful? Raina, let’s make a deal. I’ll return Beau Shelby and your son to you, and you will return Elias Hawthorne to me. Two for one, how about that? It’s quite a bargain."
