Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Fulfilling the Engagement as Soon as Possible (Part 1)

Raina withdrew her gaze, holding Hannah Lawrence’s hand: "Hello Miss Lawrence, I’m Raina North." After a pause: "If you like, you can call me sister-in-law like Young Master Thorne does."

Hannah was stunned when Raina introduced herself; even if she was out of touch, she knew the name Raina North.

As she listened to Raina’s words, a boundless joy surged through her heart.

As Quinn Thorne’s fiancée and from a prestigious family, she fully understood what the name Elias Hawthorne represented, and she was aware of Elias’s influence on Quinn.

Given that Raina was Elias Hawthorne’s wife, and she was inviting her to call her sister-in-law, did this mean that Elias already acknowledged her status?

The more Hannah thought about it, the more excited she became, her face flushing red. Just as she was about to say something, Raina had already withdrawn her hand: "I have some matters to attend to. I’ll invite you and your husband over to our home another day."

After she finished speaking, she promptly got into the car and left.

Hannah watched Raina’s car leave, then turned to Quinn and said, "Sister-in-law is really nice, Brother Hawthorne is so fortunate."

Quinn had no feud with Raina, but her attitude towards him was clear, and he knew exactly what this meant.

Feeling upset, and further provoked by Hannah’s words, Quinn couldn’t hold back any longer: "What Brother Hawthorne? What sister-in-law? Whose connection are you trying to claim? Don’t say you’re my fiancée. I’ve never said I wanted to marry you, nor have I ever agreed to this marriage!"

Hannah, surprised by Quinn’s sudden words, felt aggrieved and couldn’t help but say, "This marriage was arranged by the elders of both families, and Uncle Thorne even personally came to my house to propose, setting me as your wife. Quinn, you can’t deny this."

"Why can’t I deny it? Since it was my dad who proposed, then you should marry him. I don’t mind calling you stepmom." Quinn sneered at Hannah, "How about that? Stepmom, stepmom."

"Quinn!" Hannah shouted, almost infuriated by his words.

Quinn had no interest in dealing with her and walked away.

Ever since Anya left seven years ago, he had been living like a walking corpse, and at that time, he naturally didn’t care who his fiancée was.

After all, he was already a married man, and the so-called fiancée was nothing but a big joke, watching them jump around was merely a pastime.

But now, it was different. Anya was back, and he inexplicably became an unmarried man again, which made Quinn very uneasy.

He had to do something.

Breaking off the engagement with the Lawrence Family and taking control of The Thorne Family to clear all obstacles for Anya were things he had to do.

Thinking of these, Quinn’s heart burned again with passion, and he couldn’t wait to turn and leave.

Hannah called out a few times, but it didn’t make Quinn stop for a moment.

Fuming, Hannah stomped her foot, her expression extremely ugly. She bit her lip, glaring at Quinn’s receding figure—she had to urge her family elders to pressure The Thorne Family to fulfill the marriage contract soon.

Only by truly becoming Mrs. Thorne could Quinn no longer treat her with such disdainful attitude.

...

Raina drove to the hospital.

When she arrived at the ward, Anya Forrest was leaning against the bedside, flipping through a magazine. She saw Raina and smiled in greeting: "Raina, you’re here. Where are the little ones? Didn’t they come with you?"

Raina didn’t acknowledge Anya at all; she walked over, pulled out the magazine from Anya’s hands, and tossed it aside. Then, she roughly began to remove the bandage on Anya’s arm.

"Ah..." Anya gasped in pain, fine beads of sweat quickly forming on her forehead. She couldn’t help but say, "Raina, be gentle, it hurts."

"Does it hurt? I thought you didn’t know," Raina said sternly, face tense. "If you truly knew what pain was, how could you use your own flesh and blood to block a knife?"
