Chapter 274: Time for Retaliation Against Me (Part 2)

Chapter 274: Chapter 274: Time for Retaliation Against Me (Part 2)

Vincent Hawthorne’s brow furrowed involuntarily, his expression growing increasingly displeased.

Claire North saw this and felt secretly pleased. She knew that Vincent would undoubtedly be furious if he found out.

No one in this world wants to see their son spend a fortune on another woman.

Yet, this time Claire guessed wrong; Vincent’s anger was never about these shop fronts.

In the eyes of ordinary people, these shops worth billions are a huge fortune, but for The Hawthorne Family, they are nothing.

Back in the day, when he pursued Mrs. Hawthorne, the displays of extravagance were much grander.

He’s furious that Elias Hawthorne, for a woman, neglected his very own flesh and blood.

"Let’s go."

Vincent Hawthorne pushed open the car door and stepped out.

Claire North followed him out of the car.

As they reached the entrance, they were stopped.

"This is private property, entry forbidden."

Claire North immediately said, "We’re here to see Raina North."

"What Raina North? I don’t know what you’re talking about." The security guard began to drive them away: "Leave, hurry up and leave."

Seeing that they were being refused entry despite her pleas, Claire North began shouting, "Raina North! I know you’re in there! Come out already! Do you think stealing my son and hiding in there makes everything fine? I’m telling you, dream on! Give my son back to me immediately!"

The guard’s expression changed at this: "Hey, what’s wrong with you! I’m warning you, if you keep causing a scene, don’t blame me for being rude."

"Raina..."

Seeing Claire still yelling, the guard grabbed his walkie-talkie: "Hello, police station? I’m here at..."

Before he could finish speaking, the walkie-talkie was snatched away.

The person who did it was Colin, who had been following Vincent.

Claire had vaguely heard about Colin’s prowess and knew that he represented Vincent’s wishes to a great extent.

Mrs. Hawthorne told her that if she wanted to replace Raina North and marry into The Hawthorne Family, she must gain Vincent’s support.

Right now, this was clearly the best path forward.

Claire suppressed her excitement and expressed her gratitude, "Uncle, thank goodness you’re here, otherwise I wouldn’t know what to do."

Vincent glanced at Claire and stepped inside.

As he stepped onto the porch, another person emerged.

It was Jasper Hawthorne.

Vincent furrowed his brow and rebuked immediately upon seeing his son: "Jasper, are you going to follow your brother’s foolishness too?"

Jasper stood in front of Vincent with a cold expression on his face: "Consider me foolish if you like, but even if I am, you can’t bring a woman inside."

Vincent retorted angrily, "Jasper, I am Baby’s grandfather! What gives you the right to stop me from seeing my grandson? Is there any justification for this?"

"Justification? You want to reason with me?" Jasper’s face showed mocking disdain: "To accompany your mistress, you didn’t even return when your wife died of sickness. Is that justification? Is there justification in this world for that?"

Vincent’s expression froze and became somewhat desolate upon hearing Jasper’s words.

Indeed, he was always dissatisfied with his father intervening in his marriage back then, forcing him to marry a woman he didn’t love for benefits, and he really did many reckless things for Susan.

This led to his parents’ disappointment and his sons’ estrangement, but his love for his two children never wavered over the years.

Vincent took a deep breath and said, "Jasper, I know you’ve been blaming me for ignoring you back then, leaving you without a birth mother. But now open your eyes and see clearly, what is your brother doing? He’s now cutting Claire North off from Baby, disregarding Baby’s safety, is he doing any better than me back then?"
