Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Still Holding a Grudge After the Fact? (1)
Even over the phone, Raina could imagine Anya Forrest’s anxiety throughout the night, and couldn’t help but grind her teeth in her heart. These two troublesome creatures really needed some discipline.
In his sleep, Casper North shivered and burrowed into his quilt, mumbling about how it was so cold even in the summer.
Anya took a sip of water and paused: "Raina, how is the situation with the young master of the Hawthorne Family?"
"I’ve developed the antidote. He’s fine now, but he’ll need some time to recuperate, and in a few days, he’ll be back to his lively self."
Anya laughed: "That’s truly wonderful. After this experience, your medical skills are bound to improve even further. This is not only your fortune, but a blessing for all humanity. Raina, congratulations, you’ve finally met your master’s expectations."
Raina’s eyebrows relaxed, and she smiled, feeling a warmth in her heart.
Suddenly, she felt that the heavens had treated her generously. Having someone in this world who genuinely rejoiced for her was a tremendous blessing.
"Anya, thank you. I wouldn’t know what to do without you."
"Less of the sentimental stuff, it sounds oddly cheesy. I’m covered in goosebumps now, okay?" Anya suddenly remembered something and said: "The security guard downstairs said a man named Beau Shelby has been looking for you every day."
Raina’s eyes darkened: "Okay, I got it."
"Then I’ll hang up now."
...
After ending the call, Raina went to the kitchen. She hadn’t eaten anything before resting yesterday, and was famished.
Fortunately, the kitchen had everything. Raina took out some chicken soup and made a bowl of chicken noodle soup.
Casper North rubbed his eyes and followed the fragrance over. When he saw his mom cooking, his little face immediately lit up: "Mommy, what delicious food are you making?"
Raina gave her son a sideways glance: "Whatever I make, it’s not for you."
Casper was stunned, and he jumped: "Why not!"
"Guess."
"I can’t guess." Casper was spinning with anxiety: "Mommy, didn’t we agree not to dwell on the foolish things I did? Why are you holding it against me now?"
Casper felt so wronged he was practically a ball.
Raina sneered: "It seems you’ve really forgotten that Anya’s Mommy is still waiting for you at home."
Casper was taken aback, realizing he indeed forgot.
Raina snorted, pointing to the corner: "Get over there and reflect."
Casper nodded: "Mommy, can we discuss this? Can I eat my fill before reflecting?"
"You want to eat before reflecting?"
Casper nodded vigorously.
Raina smiled sweetly at Casper before coldly saying, "No way!"
Casper drooped his ears: "Oh."
"Wait a second."
Casper stopped immediately, his eyes sparkling: "Mommy, did you change your mind?"
"Yes." Raina said, "I’ve decided to let you reflect standing by the dining table."
Casper: "..."
Mom!
This is his real mom!
Isn’t this a bit too harsh!
In the face of her son’s desperate gulping, Raina cleared away all the food.
After that, she left Casper in the room and went to the ward.
She first checked Elias Hawthorne’s pulse; the poison was cleared from his system. He was strong and would be fine with some rest.
Raina called over an assistant, gave a few instructions, and went to Baby’s ward.
As soon as she closed the door, Elias woke up.
