Gun Kai
Chapter 118 Disappearance Two
No wonder he looked around earlier and couldn't find the person; it turned out the name was written wrong from the start? Carrying his bag, he strode past the fence and walked to the person's side.
"Hello, I'm Cheng Yi."
"Hello, hello." The man put down the sign, handed it to a fair-skinned girl beside him, and reached out to shake Li Cheng颐's hand in a friendly manner.
"My name is Li Wei, very happy to sleep with you."
"Should we just use translation software?" The fair-skinned girl rolled her eyes and said.
She was speaking White Star Language, but compared to the Black man's broken and error-filled Yi Country language, Li Cheng颐 still felt White Star Language was more convenient...
He took out his phone, ready to open the translation software.
"It's very slow to use translation software here. The database isn't good, and there's a lot of slang. Also, there's no satellite service here, your phone has no signal, you can only buy a local SIM card to go online. But the base stations often malfunction and sometimes even get blown up, so it's intermittent." The fair-skinned girl explained.
She took out a small black box, and the voice came from it. The voice was extremely standard Yi Country language.
"My name is Elf, he is Li Wei, we are the local guides from Star of Light Travel Agency. We have already planned your specific itinerary, Mr. Cheng. The visa is also done. Going to Mukesha, the road may be a bit difficult." The fair-skinned girl said seriously.
"So?"
"So we fly over." The girl, Elf, replied.
Twenty minutes later....
Three black dots floated in the air, rapidly flying towards a distant expanse of yellow sand. Looking closer, each of the three black dots was a person.
One had a huge propeller spinning on his head, and a fully armed living person carrying a large fan on his back. Li Cheng颐 was among them.
He could hear the roaring wind in his ears, and the buzzing of the propeller overhead, which made his teeth tingle and his whole body itch. He looked down, and the height of hundreds of meters made his legs a little weak.
This wasn't the two or three-story building he usually liked to jump from, but a real hundred-meter high altitude. Once he fell....
"Hey, how long until we get there?!" He asked loudly.
"It's just ahead. Ten minutes at most." The girl, Elf, replied. "There's no one down there!"
"Yeah, the place you're going is deserted, that's why we dared to take the job, not many people dare to take this job!" Elf replied loudly.
"Then I have to thank you." Li Cheng颐 replied.
"You're welcome. If you encounter anyone with guns on the road, don't make a sound, just take out the money, raise it high, then nod and smile, we'll handle the rest!" Elf reminded him.
"Got it!"
Li Cheng颐 nodded and gave a thumbs-up.
Before they set off, the two had repeatedly told him not to speak if he encountered trouble, and they would handle it.
It was clear that Rainbow Candy must have given them a lot of money, otherwise they wouldn't be so responsible. "Speaking of which, why is there no satellite service here?" he asked again.
"There used to be, but it was shot down, so it's gone." Elf replied. "The base stations only relay services from White Star, and the cost is very high."
"How high?" Li Cheng颐 wanted to ask more.
But Elf raised her hand, signaling him to look at the ground.
Li Cheng颐 followed the direction of her finger and looked out.
The ground was covered with yellow sand, and between two sand dunes stood a small town that was clearly abandoned.
Scattered gray-green plants grew in the town, and buildings that were only two or three stories high looked like building blocks, simple and crude in structure.
The three of them slowly descended and folded up their individual flight devices.
"This is Mukesha Town, where you wanted to come." Elf pointed to the deserted town in front of her.
"This was the residence of the Gilchini people many years ago, but they're gone now, so we can only send you here. Where do you want to go next?" She asked.
"Take a look inside." Li Cheng颐 looked at the village in front of him. If he got close to the prototype of the blind spot, he might be able to enter a memory flash.
Memory flashes could occur as long as he was near the prototype location, so he would go in and take a look first. He picked up his luggage and strode toward the abandoned town.
"Stop!" Suddenly, a loud shout came from behind. Someone called out to them in White Star Language.
The three of them turned around quickly and saw four black men in yellow military uniforms, holding submachine guns, approaching them quickly from not far away.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" The leader, a tall, thin black soldier, asked in a cold voice, his White Star Language not very proficient and tinged with hostility.
"We had reported in advance, Star of Light Travel Agency." The black man, Li Wei, stepped forward to negotiate. "We know you reported, but this place is off-limits." The black soldier said stiffly.
"Brothers? We paid the money to the Blue Deer Logistics Department? Why don't you call and ask?" Elf raised her hand, signaling Li Cheng颐 not to speak, and stepped forward with a smile.
The three of them looked at each other, and one of them took out a walkie-talkie, pressed it a few times, and put it to his ear. After listening for a while, his expression softened.
"Alright, you can go in, but you're only allowed to stay in Mukesha, and the time cannot exceed one hour. Do not go outside this area! Understand?"
"Understood, understood." Elf nodded with a smile.
The three soldiers glanced at Li Cheng颐, who was looking blank and holding money, and knew he was a tourist who didn't understand the language, so they didn't bother to talk nonsense, and turned and walked away with their guns.
Elf turned around and relayed the request to Li Cheng颐.
He could only look for an hour and wasn't allowed to leave the area of Mukesha Town. Li Cheng颐 naturally agreed readily.
"Alright, let's go in then." The black man, Li Wei, led the way.
"Who were those people just now?" Li Cheng颐 asked.
"People from the Blue Antler, a local armed organization, they're in charge of this place now. Anyway, don't worry about it, just go in and come out quickly." Elf said quickly. "It's really weird, no one's been in this place for decades, and there are still people watching it."
Li Cheng颐 nodded, looked at the desolate abandoned town in front of him, and then at the sun in the sky, which was so hot it made his eyes water. He raised his foot and was the first to walk into the town.
Poof.
His sand boots had just crossed the yellow earthen wall surrounding Mukesha.
A wave of blurry dizziness suddenly swept over him.
"Too hot? Heatstroke?"
Li Cheng颐 tried to steady himself and looked forward again.
The small earthen buildings, with their black, hollow windows, seemed to let no light in under the sun. Looking in from the outside, he couldn't see anything, he couldn't make anything out.
He quickened his pace, glanced back at his two guides, Elf and Li Wei, and made sure they were still there. Then he continued to move forward.
Walking between the earthen buildings.
The tall buildings cast gray shadows, enveloping him.
The heat wave also swept through the buildings, making him feel hot all over and his vision vaguely blurred. He took out his water bottle and took a sip. The ice water he had filled before setting off was now lukewarm.
He quickened his pace, took out his phone, and looked at the email that Rainbow Candy had just sent him. The signal wasn't good here, and even after getting a local SIM card, it took a long time to transfer the data, but it had finally finished.
The original prototype of the Lonely Doll, after much investigation, was confirmed to have originated in Sultan Mukesha Town, from the Gilchini people who lived there thirty years ago.
The Gilchini people had a custom long ago. They were superstitious and believed that children were attacked by many invisible things when they were young. So, to ensure the safety of their children, they would look for various ways to make a substitute for their children, and have the substitute sleep on the bed, while their children hid under the bed.
Because under the bed was dark and quiet, the easiest place to hide and ensure safety.
Later, after the Gilchini people were massacred and disappeared, the legend of the Lonely Doll suddenly spread for some reason. Many people believed that the dead children of the Gilchini people always liked to hide under the bed, and when people weren't paying attention, they would reach out and pull people down.
In tracing back the original prototype, I found in the data that the Gilchini people did not completely disappear, there were still a few members of the tribe who successfully escaped.
But these people did not appear anywhere in Sultan, they seemed to have disappeared. Perhaps they changed their names and appearances, no one can say for sure.
But among these tribesmen, there was a girl.... Rainbow Candy's writing stopped here.
"This girl, you will definitely be familiar with." Below, a new line of words.
Li Cheng颐 narrowed his eyes and continued to read. "Her name is, Iselin Aisha."
Click.
In an instant, Li Cheng颐 stopped in his tracks. A strange feeling welled up in his heart.
He flipped back to the beginning and looked at the year of this information. 'Thirty years ago.'
"A coincidence?" He guessed. He continued to read. Below was a picture of Iselin from the past.
Whoosh.
A faded color photograph came into his view. It was a blonde little girl wearing a white nightgown.
She stood calmly in the middle of the photo, her eyes empty and black. Behind her was a quiet, deserted yellow building.
It seemed to have been taken in Mukesha Town.
The moment Li Cheng颐 saw the photo, his hand trembled slightly.
Exactly the same!
He recalled Iselin, whom he had met in the blind spot, the two were basically identical! Snap.
Just then, there was a crisp sound from the left. Li Cheng颐 quickly looked up towards the window on the left.
On the desolate, dusty windowsill, a dark hand was clinging to the edge, and then slowly, bit by bit, it retreated inward.
"Who's there?" Li Cheng颐 quickly asked in White Star Language. There was no answer.
The hand completely retreated, shrinking into the dark window.
The position where he was standing was a narrow space in the middle of the building, only a little over a meter wide.
Both sides were earthen walls, and every few meters there were dark doorways and windows. The heat wave made everything seem to twist and float.
Li Cheng颐 put away his phone, glanced at the position of the doorway, and suddenly took a step, accelerated, and rushed towards the doorway of the building on the left.
Whoosh!
As soon as he entered, he saw a blonde little girl in a white nightgown standing in the dim living room on the first floor, at the corner of the stairs.
She looked over here from a distance, and then turned and went upstairs.
"This kind of ghost place has been deserted for thirty years.... how could there be a little girl alone here?" Without thinking, Li Cheng颐 understood that this was very likely the prototype location of the blind spot!
He didn't rush over quickly.
The danger of the Tight Grip blind spot far exceeded the others. As long as he touched it, he might disappear. So maintaining a reaction distance was the most important thing.
He took one step at a time, slowly walking towards the stairs.
And strangely, although it was a sunny day outside, it was unusually dark inside the building, as if no light could penetrate it at all.
