Chapter 29 Discussing the Dao on Nameless Island, Hongjun Achieves Sainthood

Fu Xi and Nu Wa, having failed to exchange treasures with Xu Fang, found themselves owing him a great debt of gratitude. Naturally, they wished to leverage their standing within the demon race to secure a position for Xu Fang.

They were confident that their status among the demons, coupled with Xu Fang's cultivation, would allow him to stand out. In doing so, they would not only repay their debt but also provide him with a place to settle and thrive, a win-win situation for all.

However, Xu Fang did not see it this way.

This was not a repayment of a favor; it was a path to disaster!

While others might be unaware, Xu Fang knew that the Lich races, despite their current prosperity, were destined for ruin. Should he align himself with the demon race now, he would inevitably be caught in the immense karma of their downfall when the calamity struck.

Nevertheless, Xu Fang understood that Fu Xi and Nu Wa harbored no ill intent, only a desire to help him to the best of their abilities.

Therefore, Xu Fang clasped his hands in greeting to Fu Xi and Nu Wa.

"Thank you, my fellow Daoist friends, for your kind intentions. However, I am accustomed to freedom and unfettered existence. Joining the demon race is truly not suitable for me."

Xu Fang smiled and politely declined Fu Xi and Nu Wa's offer.

"Daoist friend, this..."

Seeing Xu Fang's response, Fu Xi and Nu Wa intended to persuade him further.

Sensing their inclination, Xu Fang, not wishing to dwell on the topic, quickly changed the subject.

"My fellow Daoist friends, since we have met here, and our encounter is fated, why not engage in a discussion of the Dao right here?"

Xu Fang proposed. Both Fu Xi and Nu Wa were at the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, had cultivated for many years, and were well-traveled figures in the Great Desolation.

Having lost two treasures for nothing in this encounter, Xu Fang naturally sought to compensate himself. He had only recently transformed into human form and was traveling the Great Desolation, still lacking profound understanding in matters of cultivation. A discussion of the Dao with them would benefit him as much as obtaining two treasures.

Upon hearing Xu Fang's proposal, Fu Xi and Nu Wa exchanged glances, understanding that this Daoist friend was resolute in his refusal to join the demon race.

Since he had made such a request, and they were unsure how else to repay his kindness, they readily agreed.

"Excellent! If Daoist friend has this intention, Fu Xi shall gladly accompany you."

"Nu Wa will certainly share all that she knows, without reservation!"

Thus, the three sat down and began their discussion of the Dao.

The Great Desolation keeps no count of years, and time holds little value.
