Chapter 852: Kuramaroll Gains Traction
As the final bell rang, the students of Sakuragaoka High School eagerly spilled out of their classrooms, their voices echoing through the hallways. The clock tower, a stately fixture atop the main building, chimed in unison, marking the official end of the school day. The students’ excitement was palpable as they chatted animatedly, their faces lit up with the prospect of freedom after a long day of learning. Some hurried towards the exit, eager to return home and unwind, while others made their way to the various school clubs that dotted the campus.
The school grounds buzzed with activity as students poured out into the sunny afternoon. The sports teams could be seen practicing on the fields, their enthusiastic shouts and laughter carrying across the campus. In the gymnasium, the basketball team ran drills, their rhythmic bounces and swishes filling the air. Over in the music room, the gentle melodies of the school band drifted out, a soothing contrast to the energetic buzz of the campus.
In one corner of the school, the literature club gathered under a shady tree, their books spread out before them as they discussed their latest reads. Nearby, the art club set up their easels, capturing the vibrant campus scene with paint and brush. The school clubs buzzed with activity, each with its own unique rhythm and energy, a testament to the diverse interests of the student body.
Inside the Anime Clubroom.
Akari: "Okay, everyone, settle down! The festival is only three weeks away. Kenji’s quiz show idea sounds good, but we need more details. What kind of questions? What prizes?"
Kenji: "I was thinking multiple-choice, covering shows from the 70s to the present. Maybe small manga volumes as prizes?"
Hana: "Ooh, I love that idea! But maybe we should also have a visual round, like identifying characters from screenshots?"
Emi: "Yeah, and maybe some voice acting challenges! I’m pretty good at imitating Sunmaiden!"
Yumi: (Giggles) "Emi, your Sunmaiden is... unique."
Ryo: (Looks up from his phone) "I could help design some cool graphics for the quiz questions. I’m pretty good with Photoshop."
Daisuke: "And I could help with the sound effects! I have some really good anime sound effects on my computer from Astro Warriors. It’s seriously amazing!"
Akari: "Excellent! So, we have the quiz format, visuals, voice acting, and sound effects covered. What about decorations for our booth?"
Hana: "We could make giant cardboard cutouts of popular anime characters!"
Emi: "Or a photo booth with anime props!"
Yumi: "I can help with the decorations. I’m good at crafting."
Kenji: "And I can handle the technical aspects – setting up the projector and sound system."
Ryo: (Smiling slightly) "I can help with that too. I’m pretty handy with tech."
Akari: "Fantastic! Everyone’s contributing. Let’s break into smaller groups to work on specific tasks. Kenji, you can lead the quiz question team. Hana, Emi, and Yumi, you’ll handle the visual and voice acting parts. Ryo and Daisuke, you’ll be in charge of the technical stuff and sound. I’ll oversee everything and organize the booth design."
Daisuke: "Sounds like a plan! I’m really excited for this!"
(A general murmur of agreement fills the room.)
Just like that, after discussing the important things and assigning tasks, the club members started talking freely.
"Did you guys watch the new anime last night?" One of them asked.
"Which one?"
"Sword Art Online!" Ryo exclaimed, "I’m telling you, this anime is awesome. At least, the premise of it is interesting."
"Yeah, tell us about it."
Ryo’s eyes lit up at the mention of Sword Art Online, this unknown anime that managed to surprise him with its visuals and story last night. "Yes, Sword Art Online is incredible! he began, his enthusiasm evident. "The basic premise is that players are trapped in a virtual reality MMORPG, and if they die in the game, they die in real life. It’s a thrilling concept that explores the dangers of technology and the resilience of the human spirit."
The club members leaned forward, captivated by Ryo’s animated expression as he continued. "The first episode was intense. It introduced us to the main character, Kirito, and showed the players’ initial reactions to realizing they’re trapped. It sets the stage for an epic adventure, and I can’t wait to see how the characters overcome their dire situation."
Ryo gave an overview of the first episode and his own opinion about it, and at the end of it, everyone had the desire to watch the anime themselves to see if they would have the same opinion as Ryo about it.
"Sounds like a great anime. Which streaming platform is this anime on? I’ll watch it when I get home." Yumi asked.
"That’s the amazing thing, guys!" Ryo said with shining eyes, "I knew you guys would want to watch when I told you about it. So, when I went to search which streaming platform they were working with, I was shocked."
"What’s going on?"
Ryo enjoyed their anxious expressions before finally revealing his news, "It seems like the company that produced this anime created their own streaming platform, and the platform is anime-exclusive! I signed up last night, and I couldn’t believe their collection of animes. There are many more animes than on any other streaming platform!"
Everyone couldn’t help but gasp when they heard that. But their eyes quickly started shining as well, for anime aficionados like them, an anime-only streaming service was like a dream coming true!
"No way!"
"Show us the catalogue, Ryo!"
"What’s its name?"
Ryo laughed as he pulled out his phone and showed them the app, "Here, you guys can see the catalogue. The name of the streaming is Kuramaroll."
The club members crowded around Ryo, their eyes wide with anticipation as he navigated through the Kuramaroll app. The interface was sleek and user-friendly, with a vast library of anime titles on display. They gasped as they scrolled through the seemingly endless catalogue, each title more enticing than the last. From classic fan favorites to hidden gems, the variety was impressive.
"I can’t believe it! They have the entire ’Galaxy Warriors’ series, including the spin-offs!" Hana exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.
"And look, they’re offering exclusive behind-the-scenes content for ’Mystic Chronicles’. I’ve always wanted to know more about the making of that anime," Emi added, her voice filled with excitement.
Yumi’s fingers flew across her phone as she quickly signed up for the service. "The subscription plans are so affordable! And they even have a student discount. I’m definitely signing up."
One by one, the club members decided to join Kuramaroll, their enthusiasm for anime fueling their eagerness to explore this new platform. They discussed their favorite finds, exchanging recommendations and reveling in the discovery of this anime-dedicated streaming service.
As the club meeting drew to a close, the members parted ways, each eager to dive into the world of Kuramaroll and explore the endless anime possibilities that awaited them. The excitement was palpable, and the buzz of their conversations carried down the school hallways, leaving a trail of anime enthusiasm in their wake.
Just like that, Kuramaroll was gaining more and more traction as the people who loved the Sword Art Online episode talked about it.
